Return to Nagahide
To track The Performer, navigate to the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Shinbakufu group and select the quest underneath The Fox.
Head to Obama to find Nagahide in the middle of town.
Speak to him. He verifies you are ready.
- [We are ready.]
- [Not yet.]
You must select “We are ready” before the quest progresses.
Chase Samemaru
The quest forces you to play as Yasuke right now. So, hoof it after Samemaru.
He runs out of town to an enclosure, then turns to fight.
He uses a kick as a heavy attack, then a light attack followed by a projectile. Apart from dodging a lot, he’s not a complicated fight.
Assassinate Takeda Motoaki
Control now goes to Naoe.
Head in the direction you’re facing when gameplay starts, making your way to the Samurai Yashiki District.
Run to the point indicated on the map below. The music can be seen while you have Eagle Eye active (as Naoe press R3/Right Stick).
Head into the house to see that it’s empty.
Interact with the note under the banner to start a cutscene.
Takeda Motoaki presents you with a dialogue option:
- [Your song is beautiful.]
- [Your song is selfish.]
These choices don’t affect the storyline. Choose whichever one you agree with.
He presents you another option:
- [I side with the people.]
- [There are no sides.]
- [We are not on the same side.]
These options don’t affect the story at all. Choose whichever you like.
Playing as Naoe makes this fight more challenging. He exclusively uses charge attacks and combos them. Either get efficient at dodging his attacks or keep your distance.
Here, using abilities is the best way to do damage in chunks. Otherwise, it takes a while to chip away at his health.
After the fight, you get one more dialogue option:
- [Takeda Motoaki deserved his fate.]
- [He was misguided.]
To finish the quest, you choose whom to play.
This finishes The Performer in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
