Assassin’s Creed Shadows The Kabukimono Walkthrough

March 19, 2025 by Timmberelli Leave a Comment

The Kabukimono is a side quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Kabukimono mission including The Kabukimono member locations. There are 8 members of The Kabukimono total which you must defeat as part of the quest.

  • Region: Izuma Settsu
  • Questboard Category: People of Settsu > Shin’nyo > The Kabukimono
  • Questgiver: Shin’nyo
  • Requirement: Becomes available during Act 1
  • Reward: 5500 XP, 2 New Skills unlocked (Naoe > Katana > Third Wave + Yasuke > Long Katana: Chained Power Dash)
  • Quest Description: Kabukimono are colorful ronin who do what they will and take what they want, ignoring the laws of the land.

Objectives:

  1. Assassinate the Kabukimono leaders
  2. Contact the Kabukimono
  3. Assassinate the Kabukimono leaders
  4. Return to Shin’nyo

Starting Location: The Kabukimono

Speak to Shin’nyo identified by the “!” icon at Nishinomiya Shrine.

Then, track this quest from the Objectives Board. Scroll to the People of Settsu and select the quest below Shin’nyo. Doing so automatically moves your cursor to The Kabukimono group. You must locate and defeat all 8 of them.

Assassinate the Kabukimono leaders

To track this quest, open up the Objective Board and a new circle called The Kabukimono will show up (or, if you’ve already killed some of the ronin randomly by exploring the world, the circle that was previously labeled ‘Unknown’ will now change).

Initially, only four of the targets are available, but in Guided Mode, they will show up on the map anyway. You can track available ones from their icon on the Objective Board and then go and kill them. To find their locations, go to the map, press  and then go to Tracked Icon to see exactly where they are.

All of the first 5 targets reside in the Izumi Settsu region.

Kabukimono 1/8: Chief Cuckoo

Find the Chief Cuckoo at the Katano Oil Trading in Izumi Settsu > Katano.

You can hop over this fence and assassinate Cuckoo easily.

Kabukimono 2/8: Big Sueki

Find the Big Sueki on the north end of Amagasaki.

Hop the fence here and assassinate him from the tall grass.

Kabukimono 3/8: Grave Dancer

Grave Dancer hangs out at the Simiyoshi Shrine.

This area is not hostile, so walk right up behind him and take him out.

Kabukimono 4/8: Ember

Find Ember in Osaka.

He stands next to some explosives. So, climb up onto this roof and throw a kunai at the explosives to take out Ember.

Kabukimono 5/8: Ghost General

The Ghost General wanders on and around the Port of Sakai.

When you take him out, the other 3 targets become available.

Leave a message at the shrine

Find the message board at the Nishinomiyo Shrine to the west of Amagasaki.

At this point, you can choose to fight all three of the remaining leaders or go after them one at a time which triggers objective “Hunt them one by one”.

Hunt them one by one

Kabukimono 6/8: Peacock

Find him on a bridge at the border of Tamba and Harima

Kabukimono 7/8: Laughing man

The Laughing Man rests at a hut in the Blackstone Cascades, north of Kitano Village in Harima > Mount Kasagata.

He sits there with a ronin. Be mindful when sneaking up on him.

Kabukimono 8/8: Corrupt Blade

Corrupt Blade hangs out at the viewpoint for Mount Haba in Harima > Kanki Burned Fields.

He surrounds himself with four ronin. So, assassinating him from the top of the viewpoint tower is the easiest bet.

Gather them together

Choose to gather them together, and you find them at the Takagi Otsuka Fort in Harima > Kanki Burned Fields.

There’s no convenient way to assassinate everyone, since the three leaders are also surrounded by a bunch of enemies.

Either way, you can try to sneak in using the house on the west side of the fort.

Return to Shin’nyo

Head back to Shin’nyo at the Nishinomiya Shrine.

Speak to Shin’nyo when you arrive.

This finishes The Kabukimono in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
