Temple Stories is the 52nd main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Temple Stories main mission.

- Quest Giver: Available automatically after completing the quest A Chance Encounter
- Requirement: Available immediately after completing the quest A Chance Encounter
- Recommended Level: 30
- Reward: 1000 EXP
- Quest Description: Naoe and Yasuke must meet with the Hokkyo to learn more about the peace negotiations with the Akiyama clan.
Talk to Joken Hokkyo
To track Temple Stories, navigate to the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Shunbakufu group and select the quest underneath The Wise.
From Koriyama, make your way northeast to Todaiji Temple.
Joken Hokkyo stands due north of the nearby fast travel viewpoint.
Follow Joken Hokkyo
Feel free to auto-follow Joken Hokkyo if you wish. He leads you to the north end of the temple.
Follow Kojiro
When Joken Hokkyo leaves, you spot Kojiro. Go to him. You can also auto-follow him, though he doesn’t lead you very far.
Inspect the collection room
Interact with the three collected pieces to progress the story.
Follow Joken Hokkyo
Follow him to the next spot.
Defend against the attackers
When you leave the temple square, you get hit with an ambush. Two of these enemies don heavy armor, so playing as Naoe may prove tricky.
A couple of allies come to your aid. Use them to your advantage.
Talk to Joken Hokkyo
Return to Joken Hokkyo, who lays injured on the road.
Retrieve the sacred scroll
Head west into the mountains. The Megalithic Vault is a puzzle kofun for Yasuke found up in these mountains. You can cut through the forest and up the mountain without the need to use the road.
When you reach the clearing for the Megalithic Vault, you encounter a camp of three enemies. Defeat them and claim the scroll from their camp.
Give the scroll to Lord Junkei
Head south back to Koriyama and speak with Lord Junkei, who waits for you at the northeastern corner of Koriyama.
This finishes Temple Stories in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
