Kurai Eikyou is a side quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Kurai Eikyou mission including Kurai Eikyou member locations. There are 5 members of Kurai Eikyou total which you must defeat as part of the quest.

- Requirement: Automatically becomes available after completing quest “A Chance Encounter” (Act 2 during “The Wise” Shinbakufu member questline)
- Reward: 5500 XP, 2 Skills unlocked (Naoe: Kunai Assassination Damage III + Yasuke: Silent Arrows III)
- Quest Description: A nefarious group of individuals hides in the shadows of Yamato. While their motives are still unclear, it appears they have been causing a panic among the locals.
Talk to the Locals / Assassinate The Kurai Eikyou
Track this quest from the “Kurai Eikyou” Objectives Board, it will appear there automatically during Act 2 after Main Quest A Chance Encounter. The first objective takes place in Yamato > Katsuragi > Sumoujo. There you can talk to Gokenin.
Kurai Eikyou 1/5: Assassinate the Katsuragi agent
On the objectives board track the icon below “The Katsuragi Agent”. He is located in Yamato > Katsuragi > Gokenin Manor. This is right behind where you talked to Gokenin.
Assassinate the agent. He’s a big guy in black robes wielding a Kanabo.
He drops the “Loyal Friend” quest item which unlocks the Tsutsui Agent on the Objectives Board.
Kurai Eikyou 2/5: The Akiyama Agent
The Akiyama Agent hangs out in the north end of the Damyo Residence in Yamato > Uda Matsuyama.
Like the Katsuragi Agent, he starts to patrol when you get close to him.
This also makes the Tsutsui Agent visible on the Objectives Board.
Kurai Eikyou 3/5: The Tsutsui Agent
The Tsutsui Agent resides in the Retainers’ Quarters just north of Koriyama Tenshu viewpoint in Yamato > Koriyama.
Unlike the first two, the Tsutsui Agent stands out in the open, with plenty of enemies watching over him.
While it’s not entirely necessary to complete the quest, you can investigate the Retainer’s Quarters building right next to the Tsutsui Agent to find more information on The Messenger.
Kurai Eikyou 4/5: The Messenger
The Messenger is hanging out at a fork in the road southeast of Kofukuji Temple in Yamato > Nara Heartland.
Killing the Messenger yields you with a quest item “Status Update.” This makes the Blacksmith Agent visible on the Objectives Board.
Kurai Eikyou 5/5: The Blacksmith Agent
While not entirely necessary to complete the quest, you can eavesdrop on some blacksmiths in Yamato > Uda Matsuyama to narrow down where to find the Blacksmith Agent.
The Blacksmith Agent works out of Miyataka in Yamato > Hidden River.
The entire area is hostile, and he has a lot of enemies around him.
Return to Fuyu
Find Fuyu at the Omiwa Shrine in Yamato > Nara Heartland.
Retrieve the gift
After talking to Fuyu, head east over the building behind her and up the slight cliff.
Collect the sword resting by the tree.
This finishes Kurai Eikyou in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
