Before the Fall is the 62nd main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It can be done earlier but will be mandatory at this point to advance the story, in order to complete Naoe’s storyline. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Before the Fall main mission.

- Requirement: Becomes available during Act 1. In Act 2 you’ll get to a point where you must have done this quest to advance the story, but doesn’t matter if you do the quest itself during Act 1 or Act 2.
Complete 4 Kuji-kiri
This is a Naoe exclusive quest. To complete it, you need to complete any 4 
Kuji-kiri. It doesn’t matter which 4 of them you do. They are short meditations during which you must press buttons at the correct time. The first 4 Kuji-kiri you do (regardless of location) will each trigger a flashback of Naoe’s past. Completing the 4 flashbacks is the first step towards Naoe’s storyline, which is also a requirement to finish Act 3 and reach the Epilogue of the story.
The quest will appear on the objectives board under Naoe. The Kuji-kiri won’t be marked automatically, however. Refer to Kuji-kiri Locations.
