Help the abbott
You can track this quest using the Objectives Board. Scroll to the Shinbakufu and select the quest underneath The Ox.
Considering the nature of this quest, Yasuke is likely a more favorable choice for beating this mission. There is a large amount of enemies in tight groupings, which makes assassination more time-consuming.
The abbot is being held hostage at the Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple, north of Amagasaki and northwest of Senri Hills.
To make things a little easier later on, unlock the fast travel viewpoint at this temple.
The abbot is rather well-guarded, so you will have to take out all of them.
When clear, talk to the abbot.
He presents you with a dialogue option:
- [I am ready.]
- [I’m not ready.]
To progress the story, you must select “I am ready.”
Free Nakamura Tadashige
On the east side of this enclosed area, you face several enemies guarding the path and the building you need to reach.
As Yasuke, you can just cut through and then charge through the front door.
As Naoe, you have to go around to the right.
Take out the baddies, then go talk to Nakamura Tadashige.
Talk to Nakamura Tadashige
Go out of the temple to the west until you’re no longer in a hostile area. Then use the nearby viewpoint.
Then, just drop down the building on the west side until you drop down next to Nakamura Tadashige.
The conversation opens up a dialogue option for Yasuke:
- [Lord Nobunaga earned my loyalty.]
- [I served him for personal reasons.]
Then Naoe gets a dialogue option:
- [Nobunaga knew who his enemies were.]
- [I follow my own path.]
These options do not affect the path of the story.
Then, you choose between playing as Yasuke or Naoe. This is the end of the quest, so it doesn’t matter whom you choose.
This finishes A Voice in Anger in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
