Assassin’s Creed Origins contains several types of collectibles. Below you can find a list of collectible types with links to their respective location guides.
Nothing is missable, everything is obtainable after the story! You can get them in free roam at any time. A few collectibles are obtained from side quests, such as hieroglyph papyrus. It’s highly recommended that you get the viewpoints first. They act as fast travel points, also revealing the collectible locations as white question marks.
- Stone Circles: There are 12 Stone Circles in the game. They are marked by white question marks on the map. After finding a stone circle you must align it with the stars in the sky. Finding all 12 solves the side quest “Bayek’s Promise”.
- Papyrus Puzzles: These are riddles you get in the open world (and a few from side quests). There are 25 papyrus puzzles in the open world. After finding a piece of papyrus you can check it out in the inventory. It gives you a cryptic riddle text. Based on the text you must find a certain location in the open world. There are no waypoints so you must figure out by yourself where to go. They give fantastic rewards, always rare or legendary gear and a lot of money.
- Hermit Locations: These are needed for the trophy / achievement “Words of Wisdom”. There are 5 of them in the game. They are carpets in quiet places you can sit on. Each one gives +1 ability point. These are perfect for unlocking more abilities early in the game.
- Ancient Tombs: They are labyrinths inside pyramids and some underground mountain areas. Your objective in each of them is to find an “Ancient Tablet” at the end by solving a series of puzzles and obstacles.
- Treasures: These are often found in bandit camps & hideouts, but also in other locations marked on the map (white question marks). There are also sunken treasures that are found underwater. The treasure boxes contain weapons and scale to your level.
- Viewpoints: The classic viewpoints that we know from other Assassin’s Creed games. Climb up and synchronize. They act as fast travel points and reveal other collectibles on the map (in form of white question marks).
