Assassin’s Creed Mirage has 7 Lost Book Locations. Finding all Lost Books and bringing them to Al-Jahiz unlocks the Scholar trophy and achievement. 6 of the 7 books count towards territory completion and are required to get 100% completion in all districts for the Explorer trophy & achievement (fully explore all territories). One book in Wilderness region is unmarked and doesn’t count towards the map completion.
They look like normal books and some of them reward you with skill points. Some collectibles are gated behind story progress. In particular, the Lost Book in Round City is in a building that only opens at the very end of the story. It’s best to finish the story first and collect everything afterward. Nothing is missable, everything can still be collected after the story.
If your quest counter for “Bookworm” gets stuck at 6/6 books, it means you are missing one, most likely the unmarked Book #7: Kitab Al-Zahif. This isn’t a bug, the game just doesn’t tell you that the 7th book exists.

Harbiyah
Lost Book #1: Al-Tabari: Tafsir of al-Tabari
Found underground. Enter via the Secret Entrance (white door icon on map), just left above the letter “N” of “Nestorian Monastery” on the map. You must then push the 3 shelves to gain access to the hole in the wall. Then you can squeeze through the hole and find the book in the next room.
Lost Book #2: Kalila wa-Dimna
Inside a locked building. To get inside, you must climb through the open window accessible from the backyard on the south side of the building.
This leads to the upper floor. Go downstairs and aim through the metal bars with a Throwing Knife (there are some Throwing Knives on the upper floor). You must throw it at the red keg, doing so will make it explode which unlocks the door downstairs.
Climb back outside and open the now-open door on the south side of the building. This leads to the Historical Site + Lost Book.
Abbasiyah
Lost Book #3: Al-Kwarizmi: Al-Jabr
Upstairs in a house. You can break the wooden front door by melee attacking it (south-side of building). Then pull the shelf towards you and go upstairs to find this.
Karkh
Lost Book #4: The Banu Musa: Book of Ingenious Devices
Found in a house in the west of Harbor Camp, upper floor. Approach from the east and there’s a window upstairs you can throw a Throwing Knife Through to hit the barred window.
This breaks the window. Now you can climb in through the window.
Round City
Lost Book #5: Al-Sikkit: Diwan Abu Nu’as
This can only be obtained after Main Quest: The Serpent’s Nest (very end of story). Come back for it after finishing the main story. The door to the book will be closed before reaching the end of the story, it will be open after finishing the story.
The book is inside the Palace of the Green Dome. You can enter this area by jumping to it from the roof of “Harem”, a named map area directly south of the big palace in the middle (alternatively, there is also a crane a few meters north-west of Harem you can use to jump down).
Go to the south-east wall of the palace. At the south-east corner there is a balcony with an open door you can climb to (the door is only open after the main story).
Through there you can enter the room with the book. You can exit the area the same way you came, by climbing up the wall to Harem, south of the palace.
Wilderness
Lost Book #6: Suleimain al-Tajir: Accounts of China and India
In Tuesday Market, inside the guard house, upstairs. You can climb the ladder inside to get upstairs.
Lost Book #7: Kitab Al-Zahif
This is the “secret” Lost Book, it’s unmarked and doesn’t count towards the region completion, but is needed to finish Al-Jahiz’s quest to return all 7 Lost Books.
This book is in the same place as Historical Site: Seleucia-on-the-Tigris, in the ruins in the swamp area at the south-east edge of the map. There is a destructible floor in the ruins. Climb up the ladder to grab a red explosive vase and throw it at the floor. This reveals the hidden book.
Finish Al-Jahiz’s Bookworm Quest
After getting all Books, return to Al-Jahiz at the House of Wisdom in Abbasiyah district. Give him all books to unlock the Scholar trophy / achievement.

i have completed and collected all 7 books and bought it back to to al jahiz. but when i trigger it says did you bought the books and basim says “not as yet” even though i got all 7 books
I collected the last lost book during the last assassination main mission. I had never talked to the librarian before the mission, so when I traveled to him to leave all 7 books it won’t allow me to leave them, Basim just triggers a dialogue where he says that he doesn’t have any books on him right now. I don’t know what to do!
I think my game is screwed up. Not counting the one book that doesn’t count, I have found/returned 5 of the 6 book (according to the collectibles tracker in the map), but the quest tracker just says I have collected 4.
Well this trophy is broken. I collected then all but the librarian wont take them. I officially hate this game.

Did you grab the 7th book in Wilderness? The quest tracker only tracks 6 books but the 7th book is needed.
The seventh book was missing for me.

The nestorian monastery gap in the wall to the secret room where the book is, is blocked for me. I can’t get in at all. Is it a bug? What do I do?
