Anthem has 402 Collectible Locations. This collectibles guide shows all locations for the Bastion collectible challenges and all trophies or achievements.
- 10 Overlooks (Trailblazer Challenge) – must find all of them
- 4 Tombs of the Legionnaires (Grave Historian Challenge) – must find all of them
- 25 Arcanist Archives (Arcanist Archives Challenge) – can farm the same ones after death
- 25 Dominion Intel (Dominion Intel Challenge) – can farm the same ones after death
- 25 Outlaw Intel (Outlaw History Challenge) – can farm the same ones after death
- 25 Scar Intel (Scar Intel Challenge) – can farm the same ones after death
- 25 Sentinel Archives (Sentinel Archives Challenge) – can farm the same ones after death
- 80 Misplaced Writings (Mederines’ Disciple (10 Writings) / Mederines’ Order (+30 Writings) / Mederines’ Peer (+40 Writings). With each challenge tier the counter resets, you need all 80 of them for the No Stone Unturned trophy.) – can farm the same ones by making a new pilot
- 80 Runes (Hidden Messages (10 Runes) / Footsteps of Idris (+20 Runes) / Vassa’s Triumph (+50 Runes). With each challenge tier the counter resets, you need all 80 of them for the No Stone Unturned trophy.) – can farm the same ones by making a new pilot
- 1 Clam (The Clam Before The Storm Challenge – not needed for “No Stone Unturned” trophy)
- 63 Districts – must find all of them
- 9 Hidden Places (there are more but only 9 count as collectibles) – must find all of them
- 30 Landmarks – must find all of them
You can keep track of all Collectibles under Challenges > Exploration > Bastion Collectibles / Bastion Regions. Nothing is missable. They are all found in the open world and available from the start of the game. They can still be collected after the story.
The collectibles also grant you Loyalty XP for the different factions. They also add some lore to your text documents so you can learn more about the world of Anthem and the people in it. Completing a collectible challenge (meaning you collected all of one type) also gives some money rewards.
It’s worth noting that the challenges for the 80 Runes and 80 Misplaced Mederines’ Writings have multiple tiers to them. The first challenge only wants you to find 10 of these but then the challenge resets and wants you to find more. All 80 of these are required to complete the challenge and earn No Stone Unturned.
How to Farm Collectibles (instead of searching for them):
What’s great in Anthem is that you can farm the Intel & Archive locations (the items that have 25 each) and collect the same ones again until you have 25 to complete their challenges. They respawn when you die in free roam. No need to find all unique ones, a good farming route in which you pick up different types will do better than looking for them, as the guide below will show.
What’s not so great in Anthem is that not all collectibles spawn on each freeplay. Only certain types will appear. So you could walk around for hours and never find what you’re looking for. On top of that if another player picked up the collectible before you it will disappear in your game! One more reason why you should just farm the same ones to save yourself that headache. It’s boring but easier than finding everything.
The 80 Runes and 80 Misplaced Writings only respawn when you make a new Pilot, but they don’t spawn right at the start and you must advance the story a bit to make them show up. Then they can be collected a second time. They are really easy to find and there are more than 80 of them anyway. Unlike other collectibles these will always spawn. You can get around 50 of them and then start a new Pilot to collect them again until you have 80. Be sure to keep this for last though.
The 10 Overlooks and 4 Tombs of the Legionnaires are unique and you must find all of them. Same goes for the 63 Districts, 9 Hidden Places, 30 Landmarks. You have to find all of those, they can’t be farmed.

Arcanist Archives
Arcanist Archives & Sentinel Archives will both spawn on structures that will spawn outside of normal faction spawning areas. They can spawn on a few different types of structures that can typically be easily spotted as they are decently large and look out of place with the rest of the environment when you see them. These ones will also respawn in nearly the exact same place over and over each death if you’re lucky and there are no other players in the immediate area that could influence world spawns.
For the dark tent with boxes around it, the collectible will spawn on a group of crates at the back of the tent. For the covered robot walker with a white tower beside it, the collectible will spawn to the side of the tower on some crates.
Here is a farming route for Arcanist, Outlaw, Scar, Sentinel Collectibles. Play on Hard and let yourself die at the end of the route to make collectibles respawn:
Dominion Intel
Dominion Intel items will spawn on Dominion related structures that appear in areas that Dominion enemies can spawn in. The structures are normally all similar, they are the dark grey / black metal container that looks like an engram from Destiny. All variants of these structures can have the intel spawn on them, and there is typically a large number that spawn with the Dominion enemy spawns.
Here is a farming route for Dominion Intel Collectibles. Play on Hard and let yourself die at the end of the route to make collectibles respawn:
Outlaw Intel
Outlaw Intel items will spawn on Outlaw related structures that appear in areas that Outlaw enemies can spawn in. These can most often be found in two places: in the cloth roof shelters with the fire in the front, they will appear on a box to the right side of the fire, or on top of the groups of containers that also spawn near where the groups of Outlaws will spawn.
In the sheltered area, the Collectible can spawn on either side of the fire on the crates. On the small structures in the open, the collectible can spawn on crates groups of crates that look similar to the one directly above the Javelin or to the right. They can also have a number of canisters on them and they will spawn in front of the canisters.
Here is a farming route for Arcanist, Outlaw, Scar, Sentinel Collectibles. Play on Hard and let yourself die at the end of the route to make collectibles respawn:
Scar Intel
Scar Intel items will spawn on Scar related structures that appear in areas that Scar enemies can spawn in. They will normally always be on the left side (facing the “door”) of the hut structures that spawn with the Scar, sitting on top of a barrel. You can have multiple of these huts spawned in a Scar area, and each one has the potential to have a collectible located on the barrel. These are primarily what you want to be on the lookout for when trying to get the Scar Intel items.

Misplaced Writings
Misplaced Writings are all of the text collectibles that you can find scattered around the map. These will look like reddish-pink books, scrolls, or pieces of white paper, and have fixed spawn locations around the map. You need a total of 80 of these for all the Bastion challenges.
The easiest way to farm these is to just make a new pilot and grab 10 – 20 that are very easy to pick up right at the start of the story. You only need to do the two tutorial missions before you have access to the open map, then all the text collectibles are available. In the mission “Lost Arcanist” if you go to the first map objective to slightly progress the mission you are then able to go around the entire world map without the game trying to warp you away, which makes picking these up quick and easy.
There are nearly 10 pickups just by the Fort Tarsis spawn point alone, so it should take about 20 minutes to do one run on a new pilot to grab a handful of these collectibles, then repeat on a new pilot.
Runes
Arcanist runes are green glowing runes that appear in the world after you do a contract for Matthias at the start of the game called “Arcanist Runes”. They can be found all over the place on walls and are fairly easy to see when you spot them. You need to pick up a total of 80 of them for all the of the Bastion challenges.
The easiest way to go about getting these is to just pick up every one you find as you go by. This includes making sure you get all of the ones in each Hidden Place as you go through them for the story missions. Each Hidden Place has at least a few, so they’re a good place to look. If you’re picking up each rune you see as you’re playing you should be able to easily get 50 – 60 through general story progress, then you would only need a handful more on a second pilot so wouldn’t need to redo the story more than once. On a second pilot it would likely be easiest to get the ones from Hidden Places, seeing as they can have a large number.
Note: when farming runes on a new pilot some will be glowing green and others yellow. The ones that are glowing green don’t seem to increase the counter anymore. The yellow ones add to your counter on new pilot and can be farmed. So if a rune doesn’t count for you that’s why.
The Clam Before the Storm Challenge
NOTE: This challenge isn’t required to be completed to earn No Stone Unturned.
You MUST be playing as a Storm type Javelin to unlock this challenge, you can’t complete it with one of the other three Javelin types.
Launch a Freeplay session from the Strider that’s directly south of Ruins of Shadowmark. Proceed directly North so that you come in to the ruins area and are right near the Landmark called The Sunken Gardens.
Jump in the water and head straight to the bottom. To the North wall you should see a square opening with light coming out of it. Go into this passage and on the left you should see a large clam. Go up to it and you will complete the challenge.

A Tip for the gather 25 Intel/Archives
> Arcanist Archives
> Dominion Intel
> Outlaw Intel
> Scar Intel
> Sentinel Archives
all you need to do it find 1 of any of them, pick it up, go get your self killed and respawn, go back and you can loot the same one again. (Tip came from Knigtmare_1985)
A tip for the 80 Runes and 80 Writings
> Misplaced Writings
> Runes
I had a bug with the Runes where i was missing 9, after following a video for 80 of them.
i decided to make a new pilot and collect all 80 again and see if the 9 that didnt count would count on the new pilot.
to my surprise/amazement every Rune and Misplaced Writing had respawned, and collecting the same ones as the previous pilot counted towards the overall total
Seph says
This is good news. I just finished going through a video and ended up at 76/80. So you’re saying if I start a new pilot, I need to just collect 4 more?
Tabion says
That is correct, you need to do 2 or 3 story missions, then Do the side quest
See in the dark from the Arcanists
Before the runes are available
Jao says
That really works ??
Slimulis says
“80 Runes (Hidden Messages (10 Runes) / Footsteps of Idris (+20 Runes) / Vassa’s Triumph (+50 Runes). With each challenge tier the counter resets, you need all 80 of them for the No Stone Unturned trophy.) – can farm the same ones by making a new pilot”
This is wrong, at least as of today with the game fully patched (march 1st, 2019) on ps4. I made a new pilot to try this and all the runes were still gone.
PowerPyx says
It still works. You just need to advance the story further to make the runes spawn in new game. Keep playing the story a little bit and they will show up.
Gage says
It still works, you have to play forward and do Matthias’ contract about runes to have them show up.
Slimulis says
Totally right, as soon as I progressed the the arcanist runes side quest they became visible! Cheers, thanks a ton for this.
Vult says
The instant die/respawn of intel archives etc does not work (1/3/2019) hard or grandmaster dif
Vult says
Ok i think they need you to be further away to respawn. Now its working
wtfamidoin says
die/respawn is working for me as of today 3/1/19.
Pfroebbel says
When I do it like in the Video nothing but Parts respawn. Not one Intel in about 10 runs
mitch says
Im stuck at 9/10 for the trailblazer collectibles..(overlooks) ive opened them all..valley of tarsis overlooks isnt marked off..but ive opened it allready..now what ??!!!!
PowerPyx says
I believe you can make a new pilot to get it. The collectible trackers glitch out sometimes in this game, happened to me too on a bunch of collectibles.
mitch says
Way to many collectibles in this game ? ! Yup your dead rite powerpyx all fixed..made a new pilot and all collectibles reset in game.thank god for that ! Thanks ??
Shadowalker13 says
Just wondering if anyone else can still see the videos on this page?
PowerPyx says
The video embed disappeared for some reason. Thanks for pointing that out, I put it back in and it should show up now.
Thomas says
Funny how you say the mederines collectibles is real easy to find, and se should just collect 50 and make a new pilot……. give us a video for 50 then if they are so easy to find
PowerPyx says
As it says on this page, it’s still in progress. There are a lot of collectibles in this game and 3 other fairly big games released on the same day as Anthem (Metro, Far Cry, Jump Force), it takes a while to get through it all.
In the meantime, if you’re still short by a few writings you can just go for as many as you can find and start multiple new pilots, e.g. get 27 misplaced writings on 3 pilots. They are mostly found at manmade structures. There are more than 80 of them. And technically you only need 40 and get them twice, or get fewer and start multiple pilots.
Thomas says
I thought you could only have 3 pilots. Thanks for your hard work im just unpatient
wtfamidoin says
You dont need the clam before the storm for no stone unturned. The trophy popped for me without getting that one.
PowerPyx says
Thanks for confirming, updated!
Connectvl says
when i get a bit of the writing i swap character and it isnt there? any help i only need like 20 more to finish it but when i swap off the only character ive used there none there
Chris says
Will my old pilot be deleted when I create a new one or is it possible to have multiple pilots at the same time?
Gage says
You can have up to 3 at once.
Pfroebbel says
Does anyone know when the Misplaced Writings Spawn? Which Mission has to be completed to make them spawn to the new Pilot?
Gage says
Just the first two tutorial missions right at the start of the game. After you go through the dialogue at Fort Tarsis and start the mission to find Matthias you can pick them up.
Martin says
So all collecting items are taken on the new pilot? And I cam change between tehm??
MC says
First things first, give PP a break, there really were a bunch of games that literally dropped on top of one another so only so much can be done in a given amount of time.
Alright now that that’s out of the way let me try to add some further clarity around the “misplaced writings” that everyone is talking about…
There are 3 stages to this:
Stage 1: Mederine’s Disciple (Find 10)
Stage 2: Mederine’s Order (Find 30 (more))
Stage 3: Mederine’s Peer (Find 40 (more))
Total: Find 80
The collectibles ARE NOT specific to a given stage. They are ALL on the map at any given time. They only go away after you pick them up. You cannot FARM them with the distance glitch like you can the history, archives, intel, etc.
Reloading a new Free Play session WILL NOT make ones you’ve already picked up respawn.
That all being said…
If you are having trouble finishing this, you can start a new Pilot, advance the questing past The Lost Arcanist and the speak to the vendor in Fort Tarsis (Piero or whatever his name is) and he will unlock Free Play for you again.
At this point you can revisit ANY of the spots where ANY of the 80 collectibles can be found (on your NEW PILOT) and they will be there, even if you picked them up on your other pilot.
Whether it is meant to work this way or not, who knows. Who cares. It’s working as of 03 /03/ 2019. Take advantage of it while you can. Don’t be a masochist and try to find them all in a single-pilot playthrough if you don’t have to. You don’t need a video with all 80 locations to follow.
I’m editing that together would make the eyes bleed of whoever edits the videos for the PP channel.
If you have no idea where any of them are…

Title: Map of Locations Missing Writings / Journals / Scrolls (Incomplete)
Author: u/xeman2x
There’s a link in the post to a shared Google Doc that has an image with a bunch of locations on it.
Haahaa0 says
An unlimited and quicker way to collect intels is to find one that spawns near a tomb. Then you just need to collect it and enter/exit the tomb the intel will spawn every time at the same location. I just did my 25 arcanist intels this way and it took me 15 minutes.
Arcanist intel: There is one near Yvenia tomb.
Dominion intel: There is one near Ganis tomb.
PowerPyx says
Good idea, will check it out!
Gage says
Where on the map are you going for that Arcanist spot? I had a look in the general area and didn’t see any spawns.
AnthemLoyalPlayer says
3/28 This worked perfect, Arcanist and Sentinel were spawning by Yvenia. Arcanist spawns before the door, Sentinel spawns after the door.
Pfroebbel says
Meanwhile I have almost everything collected and it was not as bad as I thought. But I have Problems with the Arcanist Docoments. They seem to spawn much much lesser than anything other. I think it maybe buggy.
Nishith says
Sorry for dumb question but how to make new pilot ?
Gotrek_74 says
At the main menu (quit to the menu if you are already in game), instead of pressing the X button to resume your game press square instead. It’s hidden away at the bottom right corner of the screen with the options.

Hi all,
16th March respawn still works for writtings, intel and runes. Thanks for guide. I finished platinum today. Greetings from Czech Republic. Thanks for guides!
sc99 says
I’ve seen a description in another YouTube video that if you mixed Vassa’s Triumph with other runes, you can use the missing ones of each to complete each other. Is this true or are the runes all a one-time find and I’d have to create new pilots?
Josh says
As of 7/14/19, the Yvenia spawns do not work. At least not that I’m seeing. If I’m wrong let me know. Also does anyone know about if the other spawns got nerfed since this one did too?
iJaffakey says
03/11/19, half the intels for me arent registering, ill see the secrets icon appear, pick it up and it wont count and its been happening alot. Anyone know if this is common as id of thought by now the game would have alot of the bugs ironed out of it.
