Alan Wake 2 contains 18 Charm Locations. All unique Charms are needed for the Rustic Charm trophy/achievement. All of them can still be found before Saga’s Point of No Return at the end of Chapter “Return 6: Scratch”. Before this point you can still backtrack and collect any Charms you have left.
Charms are equippable items for Saga that give her certain buffs. Most of these Charms are unique, but a few are duplicates of a consumable charm (Coffee Mug Charm). These are not needed for the Rustic Charm trophy/achievement, but are needed for another trophy/achievement. Charms are primarily found as rewards from completing Nursery Rhyme Puzzles, where they will spawn nearby in a little wooden box. There are 2 exceptions to this, one Charm you will start the game with and another charm can be gotten by petting Mayor Setter.
This guide uses the in-game chapter names as displayed on the save game (which are different from the chapter names in trophy/achievement list). They are exclusively found in Saga’s story sections. None of them are in Alan’s story sections.

Return 1: Invitation
Charm 1 – Logan’s Charm
In your inventory at the start of the chapter.
Return 2: The Heart
Charm 2 – Hammer Charm
After the flooding has cleared from the area, go through Crow’s Foot Hills and cross the bridge to the north to find a campsite on the left. You must complete the Nursery Rhyme Puzzle at this campsite, indicated by the page on the floor with chalk icons drawn around it. Put the Crow Doll (collected from table facing the lake) on the Sun icon, then the charm will spawn on the picnic table.
Charm 3 – Coffee Mug Charm
Head up to Witchfinder’s Station and complete the puzzle outside. Afterwards, track the newly-appeared pawprints upstairs to find the charm inside the enclosure.
Charm 4 – Kalevala Knights Charm
Head down to the Private Cabin and complete the puzzle outside. Then go north to Streamside to find this Charm on the birdhouse that fell down, near the small pool of water.
Return 3: Local Girl
Charm 5 – Coffee Mug Charm
After your first encounter with Thrower Taken, complete the puzzle on the ridge and return back up the path to find this at the base of a moose statue. This is a duplicate charm, there are multiple Coffee Mug Charms to obtain (they are consumable), and these duplicates won’t count towards the trophy.
Charm 6 – Deer Charm
Head north to the Radio Tower and complete the puzzle on the southern ledge. The charm will spawn next to a deer corpse by the Radio Tower, guarded by two Taken Wolves.
Charm 7 – Coffee World Token Charm
After the flooding has cleared from the area, head down to the Trailer Park and complete the puzzle on the wharf. Follow the trail of fish back to the Fish Cleaning station where you find some Taken, the Charm will be on the bench.
Charm 8 – Lighthouse Charm
Head up to the Lighthouse and complete the puzzle on the cliff. Then head down the hill to the north and go onto the beach area to find this on a rock.
Charm 9 – Mr. Drippy Charm
On the wharf of Latte Lagoon in Coffee World, a red and blue boat will float towards the wharf after completing the puzzle. The charm is sitting on the boat.
Charm 10 – FBC Charm
Inside the Ranger Cabin, sitting on a bed upstairs after completing the puzzle outside.
Charm 11 – Coffee Mug Charm
Back in Watery, unlock the building behind Suomi Hall with your Screwdriver. Complete the puzzle inside, then go outside and the charm will be in the letterbox.
Return 5: Old Gods
Charm 12 – Lantern Charm
Complete the puzzle on the hill north of the Break Room (Mother Doll on the House and the Child Doll on the Tree), then follow the black marks to find this on the path back to the break room.
Charm 13 – Coffee Mug
After the Nursery Rhyme Puzzle (Child Doll on the House and the Monster Doll on the Sweet/Candy), open the backdoor of Ranger Station (the door facing east). Then turn around and look at the floor inside the house, black footprints will have appeared. Follow these footprints upstairs to the bathtub. Turn around and follow the footprints to the bed. Then the charm spawns on the bed.
Charm 14 – Valhalla Nursing Home Charm
On the beach north of the Ranger Station, after completing the puzzle. Near the two Taken Divers in front of you, by the upturned boat.
Charm 15 – Anchor Charm
Complete the puzzle on the wharf of the boat yard. This will appear next to the beached boat in the middle of the boat yard, as well as several Taken.
Charm 16 – Deerfest Charm
Head to Watery and enter the locked trailer in the Trailer Park. After the puzzle, this will be sitting on a low cabinet by the exit of the trailer.
Charm 17 – Coffee Mug Charm
Head to Cauldron Lake and enter the Rental Cabins to the north. Complete the puzzle in Cabin 4, then head across to Cabin 6 to find this next to the TV.
Extra Charm Slot
Inside Witchfinder’s Station after completing the final puzzle. Talk to the man on the radio, then pick up the charm box from the table for an extra slot.
Return 6: Scratch
Charm 18 – Mayor Setter Charm
Once you’re done at the Sheriff Station and have the option to talk to your two colleagues, leave instead and head to Watery. Enter Suomi Hall and Mayor Setter will be sitting on the stage. Pet him to receive this charm.
