Wondering how to fix screen going dark on PS5? This is how you do it:
PS5 Settings > Screen and Video > Screen > Dim Screen While Inactive > Don’t Dim
You can also set it to 5/15/30 Minutes. This is a power saving setting meant to save you power when the console hasn’t been used for a while. In many cases, such as when watching movies or not pressing any buttons for a while, this can become bothersome so it’s helpful to turn it off.

Really stupid feature to have on when a movie is playing. What was Sony thinking?
Thanks for these instructions to turn it off for good!

Any other reason it might be doing it? This did not fix the issue for me.

Mine is doing it and this did not fix the issue. I have to unplug and plug back in the TV to get it back to normal. Sony really needs to fix this or I might be converting back to xbox

My ps5 suddenly went dim and the screen brightness won’t reset no matter what settings I change or how many times i restart my console or tv. I have tried everything from a simple reset to rearranging the parts of my tv and ps5 various hdmi cords are plugged into to even factory resetting my tv. If anyone has a solution please let me know.
