Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s About Time has a total of 43 levels. It’s the longest Crash Bandicoot game so far. Finishing the story took me 8 hours (without going for all chests). On average levels last around 10 minutes on first playthrough, some only take 5 minutes while others will take 15 minutes or more on the first attempt.
In addition to the 43 Normal Levels, you can replay each of them in N.Verted Mode (Inverted Mode). This mirrors everything horizontally (left/right) and changes the graphics to a render mode with different colors. So counting N.Verted it’s 43 x 2 (Normal & N.Verted) = 86 Levels.
As if that wasn’t enough, there are 21 Flashback Levels. They are unlocked by finding the Flashback Tapes across specific levels (you must reach them without dying).
Additionally, some levels can be experienced across different timelines. This means you can play it from a different character’s perspective, thus unlocking completely new paths not accessible with Crash himself. After you’re done with all that you can earn Platinum Time Trial Relics for finishing each level very quickly, N.Sanely Perfect Relics for getting all Gems in one run without dying. There’s a ton of replay value in Crash Bandicoot 4.

In your opinion, which is the hardest level? This may be different compared to what you are doing to (e.g., Platinum Time Trial Relic vs N. Sanely Perfect Relic run).
PowerPyx says
Cortex Castle is hardest.
Anything after The Sn@xx Dimension (last 7 levels) is a bit harder than the average.
kammmmmmmmmmmmm says
cortex castle
i was stuck for weeks
Blake says
Draggin on no box run
Devin says
Do you know the exact number of levels that are Crash/Coco only? I am wondering how much we are going to have to use the different characters.
PowerPyx says
There are none that are exclusive to either Crash or Coco.
You can switch between both characters in the world map (hub) at any time. Every level that is playable as Crash is also playable as Coco. It doesn’t matter with whom you play.
Devin says
I meant how many levels for Cortex/Dingodile/Tawna compared to Crash/Coco? I’m hoping we get to play as Crash/Coco a lot more rather than switching every level.
Gage says
11 levels with the additional characters, the rest are crash/coco
Aidan Cunningham says
Are there any requirements to unlock the Dingodile/Cortex levels? Or do these unlock through story progression?
Jeff Maxim says
Tawna, Dingodile and Cortex have levels tied to them that unlock as you continue to beat more levels.
PowerPyx says
Yup they’re all automatic story-related 🙂
Kevin says
Cortex Castle!!!!!
Don’t start this level unless you have at least 2 hours to spare.
Amy says
Two hours? By time I’d got to the end I’d died 139 times ??
kammmmmmmmmmmmm says
no 2 weeks
Latrischa Butler says
How do you go back to replay a level.I’m just on the second board because I just started and wanted to go back to the first board to try to get all my boxes. I don’t see anything to jump through like the other crash games….
joris jacobs says
By pressing start – level select I think, you can then select the level
Leo says
Walk back to it like you would in Crash 1, you can also use the TouchPad on PS4 or the Select button Xbox to open a level select me u with helpful visuals telling you about all the collectables you don’t have
Kevin says
Is the snaxx dimension and next dimensions part of the main game or are they post game?
Crono Sapien says
Every level is part of the main game. There isn’t really a “post-game” other than trying to go for 100%/106%.
DefPro says
Can you go back through the levels again without dying to get the rewind tapes, or is that just a one time try kind of thing? I know not every level has one.
Leo says
You can, yeah. Any level can be replayed any amount of times. You can tell which levels have flashback tapes by looking at the levels entry in the level select screen by pressing Select or the Touch Pad
kammmmmmmmmmmmm says
can you unlock skins for people like dingodil/ tawna blah blah blah?
Xd says
Nope
Handus Lo says
Toxic Tunnels all boxes
Haley says
How do I unlock the 11th dimension? Do I have to get all crystals in up until mosquito marsh??
