Chadley’s Report is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Chadley’s Report Side Mission (Odd Job).
Chadley’s Report becomes available when you’ve talked to Chadley for the first time during the “Problem Solving” Main Objective.
Side Quest: Chadley’s Report
Chapter: 3
Area: Sector 7 Slums Area – Residential Area
Quest Giver: Chadley
Requirement: Automatic story-related after talking to Chadley for the first time during “Problem Solving” main objective.
Reward: 500 Gil
Mission Info: The quirky, young scholar, Chadley, needs help with his research. Use the Assess materia to gather intel on fiends.
Objectives:
- Assess 2 enemy types
- Return to Chadley
Starting Location: Chadley’s Report
Assess 2 enemy types
Chadley will give you the Assess Materia, which is basically akin to Scan in the original game. The Combat Analyzer that gives you the Assess ability is automatically placed in your inventory as a key item, you don’t need to equip it anywhere manually.
Simply find 2 enemy types and use the Assess ability (which costs 1 ATB charge) on them to learn more information. A good place to get this is in the nearby Scrap Boulevard area where you can find both Wererats and Gorgers. It’s the place you went to during previous Chapter 3 Main Objectives. Enemies respawn there infinitely so you don’t need to rely on enemies from side quests. Attack enemies until you have 1 ATB gauge, then press 
for the command menu > Abilities > Assess. Do this to two different enemies. Below is a picture of the Scrap Boulevard Map Location, as well as what the Assess screen looks like when performed correctly.
Return to Chadley
Once this is done, go back and speak to Chadley (you have to walk there manually) and he’ll reward you with 500 Gil and the next 3 levels of Battle Intel will unlock.

So Chadley hasn’t rewarded me with the further missions once completing this one. All I can do is buy stuff from him and reset weapons.

Advance the story further and meet him at his next location, then he’ll give new reports.

What are all the locations that you will see Chadley? I’ve completed the first 4 challenges hours ago but did i miss him somewhere?

Man, I can’t seem to do the report 3. I already done all of the reports until 11, but 3 remains with 8/10. What exactly I have to do? I’ve even tried going against Shiva, using btavery when she staggers, filling the ATB again, but nothing happens…

Try with normal enemies. I didn’t test this against VR bosses, not sure if they count for this. Against normal enemies and normal bosses it works as described at any point in the game.
