In the skill menu of Mass Effect Andromeda you may have come across a missing tech skill marked as “Unknown”. The game doesn’t tell you this but it’s a skill called “Remnant VI” from doing Peebee’s side quest “Peebee: Secret Project”. Here’s how to unlock it:
- After recruiting Peebee from planet EOS talk to her on your spaceship. She’s in a side room by the cockpit. Exhaust all dialogue and she’ll hint at a secret project she’s working on.
- During main mission “A Trail of Hope” you trigger Peebee’s quest “Peebee: Secret Project”. To track the quest open Pause Menu > Journal > Allies and Relationships.
- The first step is to read her email aboard the Tempest. Then a piece of tech must be obtained from Planet Voeld (locked behind a Remnant Puzzle) and finally you must meet up with Peebee in her room on the Nexus space station. This unlocks the Remnant VI secret skill.
The remnant VI is a combat drone that acts like an Observer enemy. It stays active for quite a long time and you can command it to shoot at enemies. There’s also a trophy and achievement called “Friendly Fire” for attacking every type of remnant enemy with this skill.
