Introduction
Welcome to the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Trophy Guide! This is a relatively easy platinum for a fighting game. There is no online mode and no online trophies. Everything takes place offline against the AI. The trophies are much more straightforward than they seem. Complete the story and you should have around 60% trophies. The rest can be mopped up after the story in a few hours. There’s still free roam after the story and all trophies remain doable. Nothing is missable. There’s nothing in particular you need to watch out for and no collectibles. Just enjoy the game.
Step 1: Finish the Story (around 20 Hours when Skipping all Cutscenes / 40 Hours with Cutscenes)
The first step is simple — beat the story. There are no difficulty settings, it’s the same difficulty for everyone. There’s nothing you need to look out for in particular. Below are a few tips:
- All the AI does is to spam Super Attacks. What works in almost all fights is to dodge back when you see the enemy charging up, evade their attack, then follow up with strikes (do a Kamehameha after a successful strike combo to deal extra damage while the enemy gets hurled away). When the enemy charges up again you dodge away and repeat.
- Staying sufficiently leveled makes the game easier. Do side quests along the way to level up. You gain a level up every 1-2 side quests.
- Don’t waste time looking for Z Orbs (the blue, red, green orbs in the sky that are used to upgrade Super Attacks). You get 10,000 minimum of each color by wishing for Z Orbs with your Dragon Balls. After the story you get 1000+ Z Orbs per fight in a matter of seconds.
- Make sure you stock up on good health items during intermissions (between Sagas). The reason being that during Sagas fast travel is sometimes disabled. There are parts where you must fight multiple enemies in a row without having your health recovered (your lost health carries over to the next fight). If you don’t bring good health recovery items it can get pretty hard. During the Cell Saga you can start growing seeds (story-related) that restore 100% of health. Also buy other health recovery items from merchants that restore 20% health or more and add them to your item wheel for combat. You can also get Zeni (money) quickly by selling things you don’t need or wishing for Zeni from your Dragon Balls. With that money you can then buy additional health items to make the game much easier.
- Dragon Ball wishes are unlocked after Frieza Saga (2nd Saga).
- Make regular manual saves in a different slot after every fight! If you get stuck on a fight (because you have low health and are out of health items or underleveled), you can reload the manual save to prepare better for the next attempt. If you rely on the autosave you could get into situations where it’s impossible to win. The game doesn’t provide any other option to go back from combat. So remember: manual save after every fight!
Step 2: Make 10 Wishes from Shenron (Dragon Balls)
Refer to trophy “Shenron’s Favorite”. Basically, you need to collect all seven Dragon Balls a total of 10 times. After each wish there’s a 20 minute cooldown before they respawn. You can just wait it out or work on Training Room Upgrades & Villainous Parties in the meantime. Combine it with the next steps to be more time-efficient. Make sure you fill out all 3 wish slots with Zeni, Z Orbs, Rare Materials. These will aid you in the next steps.
Step 3: Training Room Level 10 Challenge
Refer to trophy “Tough Enough”. You’ll have to upgrade the Training Room inside “Capsule Corporation” to level 10 by donating lots of materials and money to it. The money you get from Shenron wishes comes in handy here. You only need to play the 10th challenge to unlock the trophy, skip the lower level challenges to save time and use healing items. The upgrades cost a lot of money but you can sell valuable materials to merchants for quick cash.
Step 4: Defeat All Villainous Parties / Mira
Refer to trophy “Down with the Demon Realm!”. Basically, there are Villainous Parties (stronger enemies) that spawn around the map in red “clouds”. You must defeat ALL of them. Then Mira spawns as a sort of endgame boss. There’s also a trophy for defeating 30 Villainous Parties which will happen automatically along the way.
Step 5: Cooking 5 different Full-Course Meals
Refer to trophy “Only the Finest”. You must cook 5 different recipes of full-course meals (cooking same one multiple times doesn’t work). This can be done by talking to Chi-Chi at Goku’s house. You must first unlock new Recipes, their locations are shown below in the trophy guide.
Step 6: Miscellaneous
At this point you should have all time-consuming things out of the way. Anything you may have left, such as destroying 10 boulders, can be done in a few minutes.

Do-Gooder Complete 10 sub stories. |
||
Sub Stories are Side Quests in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. They are marked by a blue exclamation mark on the map .
You will come across them very frequently during the story. After the story there are still more than 10 sub stories in free-roam, so the trophy isn’t missable. It’s recommended doing them as you advance through the game because they give XP to make you stronger and unlock new Community Members for you. This makes tough battles a little easier. There are a lot more than 10 side quests so this shouldn’t be a problem. To see how many you’ve done, go to Pause Menu > Story > Completed (scroll down to the blue icons). |

Purging the Plague Defeat 30 Villainous parties. |
||
Villainous parties are unlocked during the Saiyan Saga (near the end of it). The very first Villainous party is story-related and cannot be missed.
They are groups of enemies that unlike normal enemies have a red glow around them. They are stronger than normal enemies. After you progress the story far enough to unlock them, they will start spawning all across the map. On the world map you will see a red crown icon over areas that contain these enemies (it will also say “A Villainous Enemy Appeared!” on world map). Check the map to see where exactly they are. They will always be inside red clouds. When you get close enough, the fight will start. Defeat 30 of these groups. Since there are multiple villainous groups per map this can be done fairly quickly. After the story it will be easier as they have fixed levels and you will be very strong by that point. Keep in mind that for “Down with the Demon Realm!” you need to defeat ALL villainous parties in the game, not just the 30. Here’s an image of what Villainous Parties look like (the red orb in the sky): |
||
Down with the Demon Realm! Win the battle against Mira. |
||
To fight Mira you must first defeat all Villainous Parties in the game. They are marked by a red crown icon on the map (see trophy “Purging the Plague” above). Once all Villainous Parties are defeated, Mira can be found on Planet “Land of the Kais” (press on world map to see other planets). He is a level 100 enemy and has lots of health. Tips for defeating Mira (same applies to all other high-level villainouse parties):

The Voice in My Head Receive a telepathic message from King Kai. |
||
See trophy “Who Needs a Phone?”
Who Needs a Phone? Receive 20 telepathic messages from King Kai. |
||
First you must advance the story past the Saiyan Saga. After the Saiyan Saga, King Kai will start sending you telepathic messages.
They are random comments he makes when you explore the world, usually when finding ores/crystals or collecting a lot of Z Orbs. This will likely be one of your last trophies. The reason being that it’s random when he makes these comments and there’s no way to track how many you have unless you write them down. By the time you are done with all other trophies you should have received nearly 20 telepathic messages. After that go to any Mineral Deposit marked on the map, destroy the crystals, create a manual save, immediately reload the save (respawns the crystals), destroy them again, repeat. Just keep overwriting your save each time and reload it immediately. It’s best to stick with Save Slot 1 so you don’t get confused what save to overwrite/reload. Every few crystals you will get a message from King Kai congratulating you on your mining efforts. This is by far the fastest and most reliable way to get lots of telepathic messages from him. The more crystals the Mineral Deposit has the better. He won’t make a comment every time but on average he should send 1 message every ~10 crystals destroyed. |

Getting Greedy Summon Shenron 5 times from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish. |
||
See trophy “Shenron’s Favorite”.
Shenron’s Favorite Summon Shenron 10 times from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish. |
||
Dragon Balls become available after finishing the 2nd Saga (Frieza). Just advance through the story far enough and you’ll get a tutorial screen explaining how they work. You can look for them during intermissions (between Sagas) or after the story in free-roam.
Once you have unlocked Dragon Balls, they will be marked on the world map for you with an orange ball icon . There are 7 of them. It’s different for each player where they will be, but because they are marked they are easy to locate. On the world map it says which area contains a Dragon Ball. Travel there, then open the Area Map. Zoom in to make the icons easier to see and place a waypoint on it. Then a golden beam will mark the spot. After you found all 7 Dragon Balls, go to Pause Menu > Dragon Balls and make a wish. This summons the Dragon Shenron. Repeat a total of 10 times. After each use there’s a cooldown period of 20 minutes in-game playtime (this cannot be cheated by manipulating time in PS4 settings, you need to stay in-game to get 20 minutes added to your save file). Then you will receive a popup that the Dragon Balls have respawned. They will show up in random locations. Collect them again and repeat until you have the trophy. You can still do this after the story in free-roam! List of available wishes:

||
Push It to the Limit Complete 10 challenges at a Training Grounds location with any character. |
||
Training Grounds are marked on the map with a green muscle icon .
They look like blue fountains of light when you approach them: Each challenge unlocks a new Super Attack for you. Complete 10 with any character, e.g. Goku. At the Training Grounds you can also see the requirements for unlocking more Challenges. It’s best to do this after the story. The reason is that you need to reach certain level milestones to unlock new moves. During the story you won’t have access to enough Training Ground Challenges. You also need some D Medals (you get 100+ from the story and Encyclopedia automatically) and you must also buy the Super Attack Upgrades (Pause Menu > Characters > scroll over character and press to open Super Attack Skill Tree). When you bought all the skills leading to a new move and meet the level requirement, you will unlock the Training Ground challenge for it. |
||
Tough Enough Complete a Level 10 challenge in the Training Room. |
||
The Training Room is unlocked during the Cell Saga (third Saga) and is located at Capsule Corporation. Do not confuse with Training Grounds, this is an entirely different thing.
After entering Capsule Corporation (fast travel via world map), head down the corridor on the right and enter the first room. Inside you can talk to the female researcher. Select “Modify” to upgrade the Training Room to Level 10 to unlock Challenge #10. Then select “Train” and complete the 10th Challenge. You don’t need to complete all 10, only the final (10th) challenge is required to unlock the trophy. It’s best to tackle these after the story. What makes this a bit tedious is that you must also obtain the materials for upgrading the training room. The easiest way to beat the challenge: stock up on lots of healing items (equip them to your Pallete by going to Pause Menu > Items > Register Palette) and simply spam Goku’s “Super EX Spirit Bomb”. This tends to hit multiple enemies at once. When your health goes down you heal yourself and keep using this one move only. This way you can brute force the challenge, no skill required. For healing items primarily use Energy Supplement Z every time your first health bar is depleted. If your health gets really low, use a Senzu Bean to restore 100% health instantly (they regrow over time at Korin Tower Summit, talk to the cat NPC there). To find the required upgrade Materials for the Training room quickly, open the world map, scroll over an area and press to view the Area Info. This shows you what materials can be found there. Watch out for people with dialogue boxes above their head, they will call out rare materials to you. Also talk to merchants and buy materials from them (be sure to put people in your adult community to get price reductions and sell items you no longer need for quick money). You can also wish for money from Shenron (he gives 100,000 Zeni per summon after the story). Excavator Destroy a boulder blocking a cave. |
||
See trophy “Demolition Artist”.
Demolition Artist Destroy 10 boulders blocking caves. |
||
Some Mineral Deposits are blocked off by boulders (big rocks). These Mineral Deposits are marked on the map. Not all of them will have a boulder (about half of them do). Check all of them. When you’re near press to highlight boulders in purple. Walk up to the boulder and press to destroy it. You must be really close to the boulder to do this. If you don’t get the button prompt, then proceed the story further. After the story you can still do this in free-roam. There are more than 10 boulders. They don’t respawn, which means you must destroy 10 different boulders. |
||
There’s Nothing Like a Home-Cooked Meal! Make a full-course meal. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. After finishing the first Saga (Saiyan Saga), the next main mission makes you cook a Full Course Meal.
Only the Finest Make 5 full-course meals. |
||
For this you must make 5 different (unique) full-course meals! Making the same one multiple times does not count for the trophy!
Full-course meals can only be cooked by Chi-Chi, found inside Goku’s House. You unlock full-course meals automatically after the first Saga (Saiyan Saga) as part of the story. Each Full-course meals consists of 3 dishes. First you cook each individual dish (requires ingredients), then you combine them into a full course meal. Talk to Chi-Chi > select Full-Course Meal > to select Ingredient (write down missing ingredients) > check with food merchant in Satan City if he sells it (all merchants have same inventory) > if it’s not purchasable click on the world map to see where to find it. Ingredients are from fishing, from underwater pickups, and from trees marked on the map. You can also get lucky and get fully cooked dishes by destroying Enemy Bases marked on the map, but it’s not as reliable as going straight for the ingredients. Just collect anything you come across. Because you must cook 5 different full-course meals, you must also get additional recipes. These are given by specific people around the world. They will have speech bubbles above their head mentioning the word “recipe”. Some recipes are also from Side Quests. Full-Course Recipe Locations:

||
Medal Madness Collect 10 D Medals. |
||
See trophy “Heavy Medal”.
Heavy Medal Collect 100 D Medals. |
||
D Medals are obtained in several ways:
The easiest option is to simply play through the story, then open the Encyclopedia. You will automatically get 100+ D Medals just from the story, so don’t even worry about it. No need to find them in the game world but pick up any you can find. D Medals are used at the Training Grounds to unlock new combat moves for your characters and also for upgrading the Training Room to level 10. |
||
Newfound Power Acquire a Super Attack or Mastery in the Super Attack Skill Tree. |
||
See trophy “A Super Warrior Is Born”.
Highly Skilled Acquire 50 Super Attacks or Masteries in the Super Attack Skill Tree. |
||
See trophy “A Super Warrior Is Born”.
A Super Warrior Is Born Acquire 100 Super Attacks or Masteries in the Super Attack Skill Tree. |
||
Super Attacks are acquired by going to Pause Menu > Characters > scroll over a character and press (Super Attack Skill Tree). This will open a menu where you can buy new skills. Each “field” you buy counts as 1 “Super Attack” or “Mastery” towards this trophy. Most of these are simply upgrades to Super Moves you already know. Each upgrade to a Super Move counts.
This is cumulative across all your characters! This means you can buy 25 across 4 different characters to make it 100 total. So simply buy 100 of those “fields” in the Super Attack Skill Trees across all your characters. Buying new Super Attacks costs Z Orbs. Those are the blue, red, green orbs found everywhere in the sky. Don’t worry about farming them, you get 100,000 of each color from just the story. After the story you get well over 1000 from single enemy encounters and wishing for Z Orbs from Shenron gives minimum 10,000 of each color. Don’t waste your time flying around the map collecting them, you get more than enough automatically. |
||
Not Worth My Time Get an instant victory on an enemy. |
||
See trophy “Can’t Touch This”.
Can’t Touch This Get 50 instant victories on enemies. |
||
Around the open world you can see flying enemies. As you get close to them you’ll see a distance measurement in the sky and a little arrow next to your character pointing in their direction. The way you get instant victories is by pressing to fly faster and flying directly into these enemies in mid-air. This instantly kills them without having to engage in combat. Do this 50 times. You can still do it after the story in free-roam. This is the ideal way to do it:
|
||
Let the Building Begin! Build a machine part. |
||
During the Cell Saga (3rd Saga) you unlock Bulma in Capsula Corporation. This is story-related and you can return later (still after finishing the story).
After entering Capsule Corporation head down the corridor on the right and enter the first room. Inside you find Bulma. Talk to her, select “R&D” and build one of the car parts. If you need Zeni, go collect all Dragon Balls and wish for money from Shenron or sell some of your stuff to merchants. If you need any parts, press on the world map to see what parts can be found in each area. You can also add more people to your Development Community to make the building process cheaper. |
||
Get out of My Head and Turn into My Car Build a hovercar. |

If you need any parts, press on the world map to see what parts can be found in each area. You can also add more people to your Development Community to make the building process cheaper. It’s advisable to make a manual save beforehand, then reload it to craft the Bipedal Robo Walker or just keep the money/materials to upgrade the Training Room instead. The vehicles aren’t required for any other trophies and don’t serve much purpose. |

Fountain of Knowledge Unlock 400 entries in the Z Encyclopedia. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed.
You can find the Encyclopedia by opening the Pause Menu > press (this feature is unlocked early in the Saiyan Saga / 1st Saga). There are 984 entries total, but you only need 400. This will happen automatically at some point in the Cell Saga (third Saga). You get around 700 entries automatically from the story, don’t even worry about it and enjoy a free gold trophy. |

Turtle School Master Complete 20 Turtle School training challenges and report to Master Roshi. |

See trophy “Turtle School Legend”.
Turtle School Legend Complete 50 Turtle School training challenges and report to Master Roshi. |
||
After finishing the story, return to Master Roshi (old man) in the area “Kame House”. Talk to him a few times. During the story you will have automatically completed more than 50 of his challenges. But to make the trophy unlock you still need to talk to Master Roshi a few times to get rewards from him. Don’t worry about this, the challenges complete naturally as you play.
Below are images of where you find Master Roshi after the story to unlock the trophy (Kame House): You can keep track of completed challenges under Pause Menu > Story > 2 x to “Turtle School Training Manual” > scroll down to the Training Exercises to see their requirements. Scroll to the bottom of the list and the ones you completed will have a star on them. |
||
The Power of Friendship Use 10 Super Attack Assists. |
||
Super Attack Assists can be used during battle when you have another party member on your team. During battle hold and select the displayed button to make your friend use their Super Attack.
There is a cooldown on this ability. You need to wait for the Support Gauge to be charged, which happens automatically in combat. Odds are you’ll get this trophy naturally during the story. If you don’t have it after the story, go add 2 people to your party and fight a few more enemies. |
||
Z Combo Zealot Perform 10 Z Combos. |
||
Add two people to your party. During the story you won’t always have two people available. After the story it’s easier because you will have access to all characters.
During combat you can see round icons of your teammates on the right side of the screen. Around their icons is a ring (‘Support Gauge’). Use Team Assists to fill up that Support Gauge (press + displayed button to trigger a Team Assist). When the circle around both of your teammate icons are filled you must hold + to perform a Z Combo. This deals massive damage and never fails to hit the enemy. |
||
Flashy Finish Win a battle with a Super Finish. |
||
First you must play until you unlock the move “Super Kamehameha” via Training + Transformations (personally, I used Super Saiyan transformation which is unlocked during Frieza Saga. Players reported also getting it with Kaioken transformation which unlocks in Saiyan Saga after Vegeta fight).
Once you unlocked a transformation, you can press + during combat plus the allocated transformation button (e.g. is default for Super Saiyan). While in transformed form, you must have a full Tension Gauge (yellow bar in bottom right corner) and hold to Surge. This way you have a Transformation + Surge active at the same time. While in this form, land the final hit on an enemy with a Super Kamehameha (normal Kamehameha doesn’t seem to work). You get a special animation when the match finishes saying “Super Finish”. Be sure to weaken the enemy first so they will die in 1 hit. I did it while having Super Saiyan 1 Transformation active, but you can try with other transformations too. |

Awesome guide!
Onyx says
Thanks for guide! :D
Rantsi says
Do you get the press releases of the game or how come you always push most of the guides by the relase date?
Shahin Miah says
Thanks for the guide Pyx! Been waiting for your guide. One question. Why would anyone want to skip the cutscenes? DragonBall Z is amazing! ? can’t wait to pick up the game later on today
PowerPyx says
Because it’s the same story as the Anime most people will already know what happens. Just personal preference really. I skipped it because I already knew the story and was more interested in the fighting aspect of the game.
I played most Dragon Ball games and have seen the same story a dozen times already :D
Frasier says
Did you find it fun to play? I heard the side missions etc. get very tedious to do
PowerPyx says
I liked it, actually my favorite Dragon Ball game 🙂
Trophies come naturally, you can play how you want.
Frasier says
Sounds great. I will get it when it’s in the sale. Absolutely love DB and DBZ but I’m not willing to pay full price for it. Even though it’s a huge nostalgia run.
Devawarewolf says
yeah most of the side quest is either fighting or collecting stuff from world ores, fish etc those collect thing might be pain in the ass but its actually great game recommend
Billy Batson says
PowerPyx never disappoints!
Lionel says
Hope you can provide video for that flashy finish trophy yo…
BodyChipper says
~20 hours of cutscenes confirmed or is that a best guess? Not that I’m complaining. I bought this game instead of renting, so if that’s true I feel like I got the abridged series PLUS a DBZ game.
PowerPyx says
20h is an estimate including all cutscenes + dialogues.
It’s the same story as the Anime. So you get a shortened version of the Anime + Fights. It’s about half story (20h cutscenes/dialogues) / half gameplay (20h fights/free roam/quests).
PowerPyx says
Trophy guide is officially done 🙂
I’ll still add some videos today.
DaJungle says
Do you know if the D Medal progress on Namek carries over to when you can revisit Namek postgame? Thank you for the quick and awesome Trophy Guide!
PowerPyx says
I didn’t pick up any D Medals, didn’t have to. Got everything I needed from story + Encyclopedia.
I assume it carries over.
Michael Mesquita says
Hey about the super finish is only against boss fight?
Cuz I try with that npc around the world like saibamen and didn’t work
Lionel says
For flashy finish trophy, I got it while using Kaoiken + full tension gauge + Kamehameha as finisher while fighting the Ginyu force
Dragon Ball fan says
Can you change characters at will?
PowerPyx says
After the story – yes.
During the story – no. You play as specific characters during the story.
Kevlondo says
Master Kaio no longer talks to me.
initially he talked to me after a few crystals, but now it doesn’t matter how much and what I collect. Is this a bug?
Burningvenom says
You don’t need be only a super Saiyan I got it when I was in my kaioken form (my bad for the spelling)
PowerPyx says
Thank you, I updated the description to mention that Kaioken works too 🙂
Chris55 says
Flashy Finish is bugged for me. It’s not possible to get a super finish in my game. This is my last trophy 🙁
seil says
For me too. I can’t get it
Russell a Kaplan jr says
How can I go back and get the missed sub stories we miss cause I’m missing the saibamen soul emblem. And you said nothing was missable???
PowerPyx says
No trophies are missable.
Not sure about the emblem, but it’s not tied to any trophies at all. There are still more than 10 sub-stories after the story so you can still get the trophy for doing any 10.
Russell a Kaplan jr says
Gotcha thanks. I was assuming having all soul Emblems would of been a trophy
Dreal says
I’m in cell saga now but however I missed Worse For Wear
Complete the Saiyan Saga & Emperor No More Complete the Frieza Saga trophies, what should I do???
PowerPyx says
Definitely sounds like these glitched on you. They are supposed to unlock automatically from story.
I’d reinstall the game (delete > reinstall). I’d also delete the save games (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management) and start over from zero. It sounds like something went wrong with the trophy set install or something is corrupted in the save. Usually reinstalling the entire game and deleting saves fixes these issues. I had it happen a few times in other games where a single trophy that didn’t glitch on anybody lse just wouldn’t unlock for me and this method always fixed it 🙂
Fronzak says
Do you know by any chances if other people experience a bug within true power of frindship? I’m lvl 108 did tozens of battles and spammed parties super attacks as often as I can yet nothing happens
PowerPyx says
I haven’t heard of this one being bugged.
I’d reinstall the game (delete > reinstall). I’d also delete the save games (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management, but back up your saves beforehand so nothing gets lost) and start over from zero. It sounds like something went wrong with the trophy install or something is corrupted in the save. Usually reinstalling the entire game and deleting saves fixes these issues.
Fronzak says
Alright thank you very much for the response ^^
Groseille says
Do you think to make a guide to specify the best places to put the emblems

I don’t have that planned.
You can press when viewing an emblem in community to see their strengths. Use Dragon Ball wishes with Shenron and wish for rare materials, it gives you some water that increases all proficiencies +8. Just put the emblem in the category where it has 25 points. Put most in Training Tree for more XP (faster level ups), some in Fighter Tree for damage bonuses, and ignore the others. When you buy lots of stuff from merchants put some emblems in Adult community temporarily, then change them back to training/fighting community. The other communities are only of limited use when doing specific actions such as building vehicles but there’s not much point in doing that so might as well ignore the development community.

Just took me just over 31 hours to complete the story including side quests so excluding side quests, I’d say the story without skipping cutscenes would take roughly 25-30 hours. Currently also level 72 with Goku now on with the Platinum ☺️ Honestly what a true Dragon Ball Z masterpiece
BodyChipper says
I would say an ~30 hour time on your save file is probably accurate for beating the story while speed-reading dialogue but not skipping anything and doing the side stuff. I’m 2/3 through (intermission just before the cell games) and at 21 hours, but have been doing every blue side mission as it becomes available too. I only have 9 non-story trophies left at this point and most of those require me to be a higher level to realistically do them or I don’t have access to finish them yet until I progress further with the story. The actual time spent sitting on the couch is higher since the save file timer doesn’t seem to count loading screens, reloads if you lose, or maybe even movie cutscenes. The pause menu does count towards that timer.
If you collect the dragonballs many times while working on other things in-between sagas, you’ll save a good bit of time later.
~40 hours actually sitting their playing seems easily realistic for the platinum, which might only translate to about ~30 hours on the in-game timer.
PowerPyx says
Please do share your final time when you have platinum 🙂
Will be good to get additional estimates for time with cutscenes.
My final time was 30h, I completely skipped all cutscenes & dialogues. Story took me 20h (~5h per episode). And another 10h post-story grind, primarily for finding all Dragon Balls, searching Materials for Training Room & Cooking, and all Villainous Parties.

Hey Pyx. Thanks for the guide. With games that have skippable cutscenes, I find myself wondering if I should skip them (and thus make the platinum take less time to obtain) or watch all of them, which would make the game take longer. It depends if the game has a good story. As I haven’t played any DBZ game should I watch all the cutscenes? Is the story actually good?
PowerPyx says
It’s basically a shortened version of the Anime. I watched the Anime as a child and played lots of Dragon Ball games where much of the story gets repeated, so personally I felt no need to watch the same stuff for the 100th time.
If you didn’t watch the Anime and/or never played a Dragon Ball game I’d recommend watching the cutscenes. If you get bored you can still start skipping ;).

Hi, I’m having difficulty with the “Flashy Finish” trophy. I can’t take it in any way, neither in Super Sayan nor in Kaioken. do I have to activate any particular skills?
Enzo says
Rectification: the trophy is unlocked in this way: activate the Super Kamehameah through training (recommended level 30), then go into battle with an enemy is the Transformation activation (Sayan or Kayoken) + Energy at maximum with attached aura charge + Kamehameah. Without activating the Super Kamehameah move you won’t get the trophy. I got it right now
PowerPyx says
Thanks for reporting back. I did indeed have the Super Kamehameha equipped when I did this. So it seems it has to be that specific move.
BodyChipper says
Platinum in ~36.5 hours and that’s with watching cutscenes and speedreading/skipping through dialogues once I read the words, and doing pretty much all of the side quests during the story. I probably could have done it an hour or so faster if I haven’t spent a lot of time post game doing side quests to try and get extra emblems. I know that the timer isn’t 100%accurate as it doesn’t count loading times. Thee were times I would sit for 2 hours, but the save time only went up by 80-90 mins. I’d say that 36.5 hours meant 50 on the couch. Dont trust the save time 100% as actual time spent playing.
Some tips for Mira:
Gohan was my strongest fighter at level 84 at this point. I made a party of Gohan, Goku, and Vegeta which are easily your strongest 3 post game. I made sure to buy all of the blue skills in the skill tree to max out stun and break damage. Then just melee the crap out of the enemies at your highest saiyan form. The other 2 should do the same automatically and hopefully you get a break on them by juggling them with melee and then you get a ton of free hits.
JL says
What makes this a 4/10 difficulty and not your regular 3/10? Any trophy that’s particularly tricky/challenging?
PowerPyx says
The reason I gave it a 4 and not a 3 is because the villainous parties after the story are way above your own level (I was lvl 75 fighting lvl 100 enemies). You basically have to brute force it by packing lots of health items and constantly healing yourself. It’s nothing ‘difficult’ as long as you have lots of healing items, but it’s more annoying than the average 3/10 difficulty list.
On that note, I’ve added a point “Hardest Trophy” to the Roadmap 🙂

for the super kamehameha thing i done it in story mode, saiyan sage when fighting vegeta

Woohoo, got it done in less than 49 hours (I chose not to skip the cutscenes). Man, it’s crazy that in all my years of trophy hunting, this marks the FIRST Dragon Ball game on my trophy list (shocking I know). You were a huge help as always, thanks @PowerPyx! This is #115.

Does anyone else have a problem with the cell saga trophy not being unlocked after you complete it?
Nikki_boagreis says
Didn’t have any trophy glitch, just have the most recent update installed. What i did so i wasn’t under leveled was completed the dlc and farmed the items that give exp. My party was op by the time i started the campaign. One somewhat challenging trophy was getting the telepathic messages from King Kai, other then that i didn’t have any trouble and got the platinum in 40’ish hours
Telatoccotutt4 says
Hi, is same trophy list for ps5?
JtR says
This is currently glitched if you save transfer to PS5. Some or all of your completed trophies will unlock again for the PS5 list but no new trophies will unlock.
FunGamer says
I came across a glitch when transferring from PS4 to PS5 which left out the following 3 trophies.
Let the Building Begin!
Get out of My Head and Turn into My Car
Robot Rider
I rebuilt them and it didn’t unlock the trophies. What did work for me was that I clicked on the transfer save again and overwrote the first and then those three trophies popped.
