Sun Stone Location:
Sun Stone is found in Dusty Bowl (Wild Area). It’s pretty much in the middle of that area by a big rock. Under one of the arches of the rock you find a red Pokeball item pickup that contains the Sun Stone. It has the same location in both game versions (same for Sword as well as Shield).
Alternatively, the Pokemon Solrock has a 5% Chance of holding a Sun Stone when you catch it. This is repeatable and allows you to farm unlimited Sun Stones by catching the Pokemon over and over again (takes an average 20 catches to get one that holds a Sun Stone).
