In MediEvil (PS4 Remake / Remaster) the Book of Gallowmere has 70 Entries (17 Friendlies, 42 Enemies, 11 Bosses). Getting all Book Entires unlocks the Morten Would Be Proud trophy. You can see which ones you have found and what you are missing by pressing Touchpad and scrolling all the way to the right. Select the Book of Gallowmere and open it to see the entries.
It keeps track of all the friendly NPCs and enemies you have encountered. You’ll get almost all of these entries automatically from the story as long as you kill all types of enemies. The only ones that are easy to overlook are the severed hand in The Graveyard (must go back there after getting a Club or Hammer to smash a hand) and the Rats in The Sleeping Village (also must be crushed with Club or Hammer). All other enemies are in plain sight and when you go for 100% Chalice Completion you’re going to have to kill all enemies automatically.
None of the Book Entries are missable! You can still complete them after the story in level select. If you die you don’t need to get the entry again, it gets saved immediately even if you quit out of the level.

Friendlies
- Sir Daniel Fortesque = Automatic Story Unlock
- Morten the Earthworm = Automatic Story Unlock
- Information Gargoyles = Automatic Story Unlock
- The Heroes = Automatic Story Unlock
- Merchant Gargoyles = Level: The Graveyard – In the area after the angel statue, but also found in many other places
- Mr. Organ = Level: The Hilltop Mausoleum – In the room where you find the red rune
- Kul Katura = Level: Scarecrow Fields – In a chest behind the locked farmhouse after defeating the two Mecha Imps.
- Pumpkin Witch = Level: The Pumpkin Serpent – At the start of the level on the left side you can find a witch cauldron. Use the Witch Talisman on it, a witch will appear. You must have gotten the “Witch Talisman” in Level: Cemetery Hill (in that level, jump down the mountain on the left to find a club weapon in a box > use club to break boulders on the right side below mountain > this leads to witch cave > inside you must smash book shelf to find fire > light club on fire and hit the fireplace in middle of other witch cave room > then some enemies are set free and there you get the Witch Talisman).
- Jack of the Green = Level: The Asylum Grounds
- The Town Mayor = Level: Inside the Asylum – you automatically talk to him at end of level
- Forest Witch = Level: The Enchanted Earth – you must have gotten the “Witch Talisman” in Level: Cemetery Hill (in that level, jump down the mountain on the left to find a club weapon in a box > use club to break boulders on the right side below mountain > this leads to witch cave > inside you must smash book shelf to find fire > light club on fire and hit the fireplace in middle of other witch cave room > then some enemies are set free and there you get the Witch Talisman). Now in “The Enchanted Earth” you can find a witch’s cauldron to the left of where the level starts. Go really close to it and press Touchpad to interact and use the Witch Talisman on it. This makes the witch spawn.
- Fairies = Level: The Enchanted Earth – First, see the above entry for “Forest Witch”. After encountering the witch as described, she will offer you a quest. Accept her quest, she will shrink you and put you in an ant cave. On the right side of the ant cave you can smash a wall with a cave or the hammer (a club is found in a box also inside this ant cave). Behind this you find the Fairies.
- Elephant Dragons = Level: The Lake – After jumping down the whirlpool in the underwater section.
- Chickens = Level: The Haunted Ruins
- Captive Farmers = Level: The Haunted Ruins
- King Peregrin = Level: The Haunted Ruins
- Vulture = Level: The Time Device
Enemies
- Zombies = Level: The Graveyard – the basic standard enemies found everywhere
- Severed Hands = Level: The Graveyard – you must destroy the hands that run around the graveyard with a Club (found in Level: Cemetery Hill) or with a Hammer (for redeeming the 3rd Chalice in Hall of Heroes).
- Boulder Gargoyles = Level: Cemetery Hill – automatic story unlock, on top of the hill with the rolling rocks
- Headless Zombies = Level: Cemetery Hill – while going up the mountain with the rolling rocks, jump off the left side to a secret area below. There you see 2 big headless zombies.
- Imps = Level: The Hilltop Mausoleum – at the start of the level
- Graveyard Wolves = Level: Return to Graveyard
- Scarecrow = Level: Scarecrow Fields – they are the spinning Scarecrows and have a lot of health
- Mad Farmers = Level: Scarecrow Fields – some of the farmers don’t unlock the gallowmere entry, so be sure to kill multiple of them
- Mecha Imps = Level: Scarecrow Fields
- Corn Killers = Level: Scarecrow Fields – they are small creatures hiding in the corn fields. Read the book to the left of the locked farmhouse, after defeating both Mecha Imps. This book talks about these creatures and unlocks the Gallowmere Book Entry.
- Bats = Level: Scarecrow Fields
- Pumpkin Plants = Level: Pumpkin Gorge
- Pumpkin Bombs = Level: Pumpkin Gorge
- Rats = Level: The Sleeping Village – they are running around the floor, must crush them with the hammer (reward for redeeming 3rd chalice in Hall of Heroes) or with a club (found in chests, e.g. in The Hilltop Mausoleum).
- Townspeople = Level: The Sleeping Village – speak to the first gargoyle on the left side of the level and he unlocks this book entry
- Boiler Guards = Level: The Sleeping Village
- Mad Monks = Level: The Asylum Grounds
- Hedges = Level: The Asylum Grounds
- Head Bangers = Level: Inside the Asylum
- Dragon Toads = Level: The Enchanted Earth
- Poisonous Plants = Level: The Enchanted Earth
- Shadow Demons = Level: The Enchanted Earth – To make Shadow Demons spawn, you must return to The Enchanted Earth after getting the Shadow Artifact. The Shadow Artifact is found in Level: The Sleeping Village (after putting the crucifix back in the church, a wall opens up inside the church where you find a safe key. Then use the key on the safe of the mayor’s house still in the same level, this gives you the Shadow Artifact. Now use Shadow Artifact on the hatch next to the level exit in The Enchanted Earth. It leads to a cellar with 4 colored floor pads – hit them in this order: Orange (Fire) – Yellow (Spiral) – Green (Waves) – Blue (Tree). Then the demons get released.
- Ants = Level: The Enchanted Earth – You must have gotten the “Witch Talisman” in Level: Cemetery Hill (in that level, jump down the mountain on the left to find a club weapon in a box > use club to break boulders on the right side below mountain > this leads to witch cave > inside you must smash book shelf to find fire > light club on fire and hit the fireplace in middle of other witch cave room > then some enemies are set free and there you get the Witch Talisman). Now in “Level: The Enchanted Earth” you can find a witch’s cauldron to the left of where the level starts. Go really close to it and press Touchpad to interact and use the Witch Talisman on it. This makes the witch spawn. She offers you a quest which you must accept, then she shrinks you and puts you in an ant cave. Smash the wall on the right of the cave to find fairies and then jump through the portal there. After all this you encounter ants.

- Tentacles = Level: Pools of the Ancient Dead
- Mud Knights = Level: Pools of the Ancient Dead
- Ghouls = Level: Pools of the Ancient Dead
- Fish Monster = Level: The Lake

- Mellowmede Guardians = Level: The Lake
- Rhinotaurs = Level: The Crystal Caves

- Serpent of Gallowmere = Level: The Gallows Gauntlet – immediately after walking through the fire that requires the Dragon Armor to pass (see Boss “Mean Old Dragon” below), there’s an explosive chest you must blow up. Out comes the Serpent of Gallowmere.

Bosses
- Zarok = Level: Cemetery Hill – automatic story unlock during cutscene
- Stained Glass Demon = Level: The Hilltop Mausoleum
- Graveyard Guardians = Level: Return to Graveyard
- Pumpkin King = Level: The Pumpkin Serpent
- Dragon Bird = Level: The Enchanted Earth
- Demonettes = Level: The Enchanted Earth (2nd visit) – First you must open the safe in “The Sleeping Village” (in the mayor’s house after getting the safe key from church). Inside the safe you find the Shadow Artifact. You must place it on the hatch door at the level exit of “The Enchanted Earth”. This leads to a cellar with 4 runes on the floor, step on them in the following order: Orange (Fire) – Yellow (Spiral) – Green (Waves) – Blue (Tree). Pick up the Shadow Talisman there and place it on the bust to the right of the Witch Cauldron, where two demon figures shoot laser beams if you go near them. This turns the demon statues into the demonette bosses.
- Queen Ant = Level: The Enchanted Earth – You must have gotten the “Witch Talisman” in Level: Cemetery Hill (in that level, jump down the mountain on the left to find a club weapon in a box > use club to break boulders on the right side below mountain > this leads to witch cave > inside you must smash book shelf to find fire > light club on fire and hit the fireplace in middle of other witch cave room > then some enemies are set free and there you get the Witch Talisman). Now in “Level: The Enchanted Earth” you can find a witch’s cauldron to the left of where the level starts. Go really close to it and press Touchpad to interact and use the Witch Talisman on it. This makes the witch spawn. She offers you a quest which you must accept, then she shrinks you and puts you in an ant cave. Smash the wall on the right of the cave to find fairies and then jump through the portal there. After all this you come to an area with lots of ants, fight your way down the ant cave and at the very end you will reach the Queen Ant.
- Mean Old Dragon = The Crystal Caves – After using the green earth rune to unlock a door, enter the waterfall in the next room. This leads to the boss area. You’ll see a dragon head sculpture, interact with it and insert the 2 Dragon Gems. One is given by the mayor at the end of level “Inside the Asylum”, you can’t miss him. The other is given by the Pumpkin Witch in “The Pumpkin Serpent” after defeating the Pumpkin King Boss (backtrack to start of that level and use Witch Talisman on the cauldron to summon her). You need the Witch Talisman from level “Cemetery Hill” to summon Pumpkin Witch.
- Ghost Ship Captain = Level: The Ghost Ship
- Lord Kardok = Level: Zarok’s Lair
- Zarok Beast = Level: Zarok’s Lair
