Introduction
Welcome to the MediEvil Trophy Guide! This is the 2019 PS4 Remake / Remaster of the original MediEvil. It comes with brand new graphics and even new collectibles (Lost Souls) that weren’t in the original game. Regardless of whether you played the original or not, this is a fast and easy platinum. Your main objects are to collect all Chalices and Lost Souls. Most other trophies come naturally along the way. Nothing is missable, you can still do everything after the story through level select. Another thing to be cautious with is to not quit the game while in the hall of heroes (an area where you redeem chalices for rewards) as you can’t select this area from the fast travel map.
Step 1: Finish Story & Get Collectibles (20 Chalices, 9 Life Bottles, 19 Weapons, 70 Book Entries) & Grab All Gold Coins You See
The first step is very simple. Play through the story, get all available Collectibles: 20 Chalices, 9 Life Bottles, 19 Weapons, 70 Book of Gallowmere Entries.
Refer to the Full Walkthrough if you get stuck in any level and the Collectible Guides linked below:
- MediEvil Full Walkthrough (All Levels) –> Full Story Walkthrough with all important objects and how to finish every level, use if you get stuck
- MediEvil – All Chalice Locations –> Kill enemies in the level to fill the Chalice 100%, then find it. Must complete level after finding Chalice.
- MediEvil – All Life Bottle Locations –> There are 9 of them and they are health upgrades. Some are found in specific locations, others are rewards for redeeming Chalices.
- MediEvil – All Book of Gallowmere Entries –> You should get all entries automatically while going for the Chalices (just kill every type of enemy to get all book pages). If you don’t have this after the story, refer to the linked guide to find out what you’re missing.
- MediEvil – All Weapon Locations –> You get all trophy-relevant weapons automatically while going for all 20 Chalices. They are rewards from redeeming Chalices in the Hall of Heroes.
One thing to watch out for is gold coins. They are in chests and on the floor. Pick up any that you see because you need 10,000 gold coins total for trophy “Sir Moneybags”. One playthrough will get you to around 6,000 gold coins. You’ll have to do a second run for All Lost Souls anyway so that should earn you well above 10,000 gold coins. Just if you were to ignore them you might end up short on coins and would have to farm them for a while.
Step 2: All 19 Lost Souls
Lost Souls are a new addition to the MediEvil PS4 Remake / Remaster. They were not in the original PS1 version!
Refer to the guide below for all their locations and where to put them to rest.
This will take a 2nd playthrough and even a 3rd partial one. First you must find the souls, then you must put them to rest in different levels.
During this step keep working on the 10,000 gold coins for trophy “Sir Moneybags”. Pick up any coins you see.
Step 3: Miscellaneous Mop-Up
After all the Collectibles are done, the only things you might be missing are some miscellaneous trophies, such as 7 different deaths. Refer to the trophy guide below for anything you’re missing.

Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks in Level: The Hilltop Mausoleum.
Demolished the Demons Destroy both Demonettes in the Enchanted Earth. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks in Level: The Enchanted Earth (2nd visit). First you must open the safe in “The Sleeping Village” (in the mayor’s house after getting the safe key from church). Inside the safe you find the Shadow Artifact. You must place it on the latch door at the level exit of “The Enchanted Earth”. This leads to a cellar with 4 runes on the floor, step on them in the following order: Orange (Fire) – Yellow (Spiral) – Green (Waves) – Blue (Tree). Pick up the Shadow Talisman there and place it on the bust to the right of the Witch Cauldron, where two demon figures shoot laser beams if you go near them. This turns the demon statues into the demonette bosses. During the fight, the trickiest part is the platform you’re standing on tilting left and right which can easily throw you down and cost you a life, just don’t jump and only walk (jumping on the platform while it tilts is likely to throw you off).
Bone Head Bone Dead Defeat the Ghost Ship Captain aboard the Ghost Ship. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks in Level: The Ghost Ship.
Antagonist Eradicate the Queen Ant and her minions. |
||
Level: The Enchanted Earth
The Queen Ant is a secret optional boss, found during the Witch’s quest in Level: The Enchanted Earth.
The Queen Ant boss summons worker ants to attack you. She also sprays some acid at you. When she exposes her body, attack it quickly (can jump on the piece of amber in front of the queen to attack her body). Between each phase she makes rocks fall from the ceiling, look out for the black shadows on the floor which indicate where the rocks land. Repeat until the Queen is dead. |
||
Pulp King Pumpkin Defeat the Pumpkin King in mortal pumpkin combat. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks in Level: The Pumpkin Serpent.
Not So Scary Now, Eh? Defeat Lord Kardok and his skeletal steed. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks in Level: Zarok’s Lair.
Whack-a-wyrm Defeat the dragon in the Crystal Caves. |
||
Level: Crystal Caves.
The Dragon is a mandatory boss. It requires 2 x Dragon Gem to summon the boss.
Now that you have 2 x Dragon Gems, load up the level “Crystal Caves”. In the area after using the green earth rune, there’s a waterfall you can enter. Behind it you find you dragon cave, press Touchpad at the dragon stone head and select the Dragon Gems. You defeat the dragon by hammering the floor with a club or hammer and having crystals fall down on its head. The boss area is split into 4 areas, each has different colored crystals on the floor that correspond with the crystals on the ceiling (red, green, dark blue, bright blue). So when you hit the floor with green crystals (top right), it will drop crystals where the green crystal is on the ceiling (bottom right), same for the other colored crystals. |
||
Almost A Hero Give the Knights of Gallowmere everything you have. |
||
Level: Zarok’s Lair During the final level, in the first encounter some enemy soldiers will spawn on the opposing side and on your side some skeletons will spawn. You get a new “weapon” called “Good Lightning” that trades your health vials to buff your troops. It is your job to keep your troops alive. For this trophy, “giving them everything you have” means healing down to your last health vial. For me it unlocked when sacrificing 4 of my health bars to my troops via the Good Lightning. You must continuously hold down with the healing chalice equipped and run left and right in the middle land (between the troops) so the green lightning hits your friendly soldiers. It’s enough for the green lightning to hit them for a second, then move on. The lightning will always hit the nearest skeleton, no need to aim it. Don’t stop walking, stay in constant motion running back and forth. It will unlock immediately during the skeleton fight even before this fight is done! If it hasn’t unlocked by the time the skeleton fight is over, restart the level immediately and retry. Make sure you got at least 3 full health vials above your health bar before you start. Note: it is NOT necessary to have collected all Chalices or Souls! You can do it without having collected either of those. |

||
Level: The Gallows Gauntlet
In “The Gallows Gauntlet” after walking through the fire that requires the Dragon Armor to pass through, there’s an explosive chest. Blow it up and out comes the Serpent of Gallowmere. It looks like a red dragon. Defeat it. To get the Dragon Armor refer to trophy “Whack-a-wyrm” – it’s a reward for defeating the dragon boss. |
||
Healthiest Man Alive – Er Dead Collect every Life Bottle. |
||
» MediEvil – All Life Bottle Locations
Sir Moneybags Collect 10,000 gold coins. |
||
For this you need to have found a combined total of 10,000 gold coins throughout the game. You do NOT need to hold 10,000 at the same time.
You are allow to SPEND the coins. No need to keep 10,000 coins unspent for this. It just counts the total you picked up. You should reach 10,000 coins naturally without any grind while going for all Chalices and Lost Souls. The Lost Souls require you to replay the story a second time, a lot of gold will come naturally during that step. Gold coins come from chests, barrels, smashing sewered hands/rats, and from money pickups on the ground. Pick up money whenever you see it. If you got all other trophies and are still missing this, the quickest way to farm coins is by replaying “The Crystal Caves”. Unfortunately there’s no way to track how many coins you picked up in total if you spend them. For that reason, it does help to not spend them, but that will limit gameplay a bit, up to you. You can also write down how many you spent to keep track. |
||
Old School Sneaky Attempt to perform any original game cheat code. |
||
Cheats can be entered in the Pause Menu while playing (where it says -PAUSED- Resume, Restart Level, Options, Quit to Map). They have been deactivated in this Remake / Remaster but you still get a trophy for trying.
Start any level, then open the Pause Menu with . Enter the following cheat code: HOLD > PRESS If it doesn’t work on the first try, enter the code a couple more times and try to enter it a bit quicker or slower each try. The speed at which you press the buttons matters so try a few times until the trophy unlocks. |
||
Impaired Drivers Defeat both Mecha Imps and their taunting Imp pilots. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks during Level: Scarecrow Fields. The Mecha Imps are mid-level enemies that you must defeat to progress. You must shoot them with a ranged weapon first in the head and then from behind.
Master Dan-At-Arms Collect every weapon. |
||
» MediEvil – All Weapon Locations
Dizzy Decimator Defeat 30 enemies with the sword spin attack. |
||
The sword is the first weapon you unlock, found in Dan’s Tomb at the very start of the game. For this trophy, hold to perform a spin attack with the sword. Kill 30 enemies this way.
The Answer Is Chicken Throw 42 chicken legs. |
||
You get 30 Chicken Legs (aka Chicken Drumsticks) every time you complete the Witch’s Quest in Level “The Enchanted Earth”. This means you must do her quest twice to get 60 Chicken Legs (note: you can only carry 30 at once, so throw away 30 then do the quest again to refill 30 legs). Afterward, select “Chicken Drumsticks” from your inventory and throw them with . Also combine this with trophy “Colonel Fortesque’s Special Recipe”.
|
||
Witches’ Familiar Collect the Witch Talisman and complete both witch quests. |
||
There is one Witch Talisman and 2 Witch Quests:
|
||
Zip Zap Imp Splat Fry a dozen Imps with Lightning. |
||
First you must get the “Lightning” weapon. You get it from the Hall of Heroes for redeeming 15 Chalices. Now load up Level: The Entrance Hall. There are lots of imps running around that level. Equip the Lightning and kill 10 of them with it. Then the trophy unlocks. Keep your distance so the imps don’t steal your weapons! |
||
Gimme That Back! Lose, then recover your weapon from an Imp. |
||
Level: The Hilltop Mausoleum
During “The Hilltop Mausoleum”, there are many imps (small enemies with burning torches). They will sometimes steal a weapon from you, such as your sword. Kill the same imp that stole your weapon and the trophy will unlock. The imps won’t always take a weapon. If they don’t, replay the level. After they take a weapon it will show a yellow text “weapon stolen!” on the middle of the screen. |
||
It’s Not Their Fault They’re Mad Don’t harm the Mad Family. |
||
Level: The Sleeping Village You must complete the entire level “The Sleeping Village” without hitting / hurting any of the villagers. You can’t even hit them with a shield bash! It’s best not to use shield bash during this level and just walk slowly. This level is quite complex, so play through it normally one time, then replay it for this trophy. You are allowed to kill the hostile Boiler Guards at the end of the level. Just don’t hurt any of the Townspeople. If you damage a single Villager, you must restart the level. If you did it correctly, the trophy will unlock after exiting the level. |
||
Deathly Smorgasbord Die 7 different ways. |
||
*Glitched for some Players* – There is a widespread glitch (but not everyone is affected) where this trophy doesn’t unlock. A possible fix is to delete the MediEvil saves games (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management) and also reinstall the game (delete and install again). Reinstalling and starting fresh often fixes trophy bugs. You can get the trophy by the time you reach Level 4 so it only takes about 15-20 minutes to get. Some players with this trophy glitch also reported that letting the timer run out during “The Haunted Ruins” unlocked it so try that too.
For this only “Game Over” screens count (used up all life bottles and the level will restart upon game over). Using a Life Bottle (a health bar getting emptied but you are being revived) doesn’t count towards the trophy! To ensure the game tracks your deaths correctly it’s recommended that you finish the level after dying there. The trophy unlocks immediately after the 7th unique death in the “Game Over” screen. Here’s a list of deaths, just try them all and finish the level afterward (the game doesn’t seem to count some of them but counts others, so just keep going through the deaths until trophy pops):
|
||
Partial To The Potions Drink 32 Health Vials. |
||
This should come naturally as you go for platinum. Health Vials are displayed at the top of the screen above your health bar. You can increase the number of vials by collecting Life Bottles. But don’t confuse the two. Life Bottles are health upgrades, while Health Vials are just extra lives.
You can get Health Vials in two ways – find green “Energy Vials” that restore one health, or stand in the green health fountain to let them recharge your health. Use up 32 of those vials above your health bar to pop the trophy. Don’t worry about it, just work on getting all Chalices & Lost Souls and this will come automatically. |
||
Now With Added Magic! Enchant the Broad Sword. |
||
First you must unlock the Broadsword by redeeming Chalices in the Hall of Heroes. It’s given to you after redeeming 5 chalices (2nd statue on the left in Hall of Heroes). Once you got the weapon, go to any merchant gargoyle and buy the Enchantment for the Broad Sword. This works at any merchant gargoyle. A quick one to find is at the start of “Scarecrow Fields” after kicking the first cart in that level. The enchantment costs 100 coins. |
||
Mostly Armless Kill something with your own arm. |
||
You can use your arm as a weapon. To equip it, open the weapon wheel by pressing Touchpad and click on “Arm”. Either strike an enemy with or throw your arm with to defeat them.
If you go for trophy “Not So Armless” you’ll get this trophy automatically together. |
||
Rock Wrangler Avoid all the rolling rocks on Cemetery Hill. |
||
Level: Cemetery Hill Cemetery Hill is a very short chapter that consists only of you going up a hill with rocks rolling down of it. You must reach the top of the hill without getting hit by any of the rolling rocks (getting hit by enemies is fine though). The path starts in the middle of the area, where a pool of lava is. Jump up the crevices between the rocks, they are shortcuts and make it easier. Let the rocks roll past you and jump from one crevice to the next. You’ll want to keep jumping at all times while pushing the Left Stick up to stay close to the wall, thereby the rolling rocks will often miss you while in mid-air. Alternatively, you are also allowed to block the rocks with a shield. After every 4 rocks there’s a short break to move further to the next crevice. The tricky part is the lava rocks, those will sometimes roll down the crevices and sometimes they’ll take the long path around. Method: If you are quick enough you can avoid most rocks. Ignore all enemies when the level starts, jump up the 1st crevice in the middle, the 2nd crevice on the right, 3rd crevice on the right, 4th crevice on the left — if you’re quick you’ll already be 70% up the hill and the grey rocks haven’t even rolled past you yet! Being fast at the start really helps. Wait in the 5th crevice, then after 3-4 rocks there will be a short break to run over to the 6th crevice on the right. Again wait for 3-4 rocks to roll past you (however, sometimes you get unlucky and the lava rock rolls down the crevice where you hide, other times it doesn’t), then quickly take the 7th crevice in the middle and you’ll be at the top. It’s best to wait in the 7th crevice until the gargoyles have spit out 3-4 rocks and there’s a short break where you can safely move on. The trophy unlocks as soon as you go through the door on the hilltop. If you got hit by a rock, simply pause the game and click “Restart Level”. If you’ve already beaten the level you can replay it via map select, the trophy isn’t missable because of that. |
||
Colonel Fortesque’s Special Recipe Turn an enemy into a Roasted Chicken and eat it. |
||
To turn enemies into chicken, you must throw a Chicken Leg (aka Chicken Drumsticks) at them. This turns them into a chicken that you can eat for 20 health. You get 30 Chicken Legs from doing the Witch’s quest in “The Enchanted Earth”.
|
||
Not So Armless Defeat Stained Glass Demon with just your arm. |
||
Level: The Hilltop Mausoleum Stained Glass Demon is the boss in the level “The Hilltop Mausoleum”. At the end of the level you must push a block with fire under the blue heart of the Glass Demon. Then it spawns upstairs in a big circular room with a colored window in it. Make sure you select your arm as a weapon for this fight. To do so, press Touchpad and and “Arm”. You are not allowed to use any other weapons or it will void the trophy! Arm only. The Demon only takes damage when attacking its heart. It will only show its heart after launching some attacks at you. While it attacks, run away in circles around the room. All you really need to do is evade its attacks. When it shows its heart, the Demon will float in the middle of the area. The heart will float in the air. You can only hit it by throwing your arm with . Each hit does 10 damage. The boss has 500 health total so that’s 50 hits. On average you should be able to land 4-5 hits while its heart is showing. Then it will do a series of jump attacks again and throw darts at you, so run away and evade. Repeat the cycle until the boss is dead. If you’re having trouble, come back later. If you used another weapon by accident, don’t worry! You can simply replay the level at a later time. The trophy isn’t missable thanks to level replay functionality. |
||
A Shocking Lack Of Respect Destroy 100 gravestones. |
||
Gravestones are found during the early levels.
Level 2: The Graveyard They are just gravestones made of stone that don’t do anything. You can smash them with any weapon. You can grind this out by replaying Level 2: The Graveyard a few times. |
||
That’s Just Mean! Smash a severed hand. |
||
First you need to get the Club weapon or Hammer weapon. The first opportunity to find the Club is in Level 3: Cemetery Hill. When jumping down the left side of the hill with the rolling rocks it’s in a chest. Severed Hands are running around the floor in Level 2: The Graveyard & Level 5: Return to Graveyard. Load up one of these levels and attack a severed hand that runs around the floor with the Club / Hammer. This will smash the hand and unlock the trophy. |
||
Walls Are For Chumps Return to Dan’s Crypt and smash down the secret wall. |
||
Level: Dan’s Crypt On the right side of Dan’s Crypt is a wall that looks brighter than other walls. This wall you can smash. There are different ways to do it:
Once you got either one of these weapons unlocked, return to the first level “Dan’s Crypt” and smash the wall. It takes multiple hits to destroy the wall. Behind it you also find a Life Bottle (Health Upgrade), which is great to have early on. |
||
Arsonist Set 50 enemies on fire. |
||
This is best done with the “Dragon Armor”. It sprays fire and kills enemies very quickly. You get it for defeating the Dragon in Level: The Crystal Caves. Refer to trophy “Whack-a-wyrm” for finding and defeating this boss.
Stop Hitting Yourself Get hit by a falling crystal during Dragon battle in Crystal Caves. |
||
Level: Crystal Caves. NOTE: The Trophy description is wrong. You do NOT have to do it during the dragon boss fight. You can simply go to the boss area after the boss fight and hit ground to make crystals drop. Doesn’t have to be during boss fight (this is important because the boss cannot be summoned again once you used both Dragon Gems and finished the level). Hence it’s not a missable trophy.The Dragon is a mandatory story boss.
This summons the dragon and starts the boss fight. This is where you get the trophy! The boss area is split into 4 areas, each has different colored crystals on the floor that correspond with the crystals on the ceiling (red, green, dark blue, bright blue). For this trophy the green crystal works nicely. When you hit the floor with green crystals (top right), it will drop crystals where the green crystal is on the ceiling (bottom right). Hit the floor in top right area with the club, then quickly run to bottom right area and let a green crystal fall onto your head. Remember: If you already killed the dragon and finished the level, you can simply go back to the cave (even if no dragon is there) to make crystals drop on your head. |

Thanks as always for the guide!
How long is a single playthrough roughly?
Arkonite says
3/4h i guess, regard to the 6/8h for the platinum…
Quite short for a an old delicious feeling of nostalgia 🙂
PowerPyx says
A full playthrough with all Chalices took me 2.5 hours. I recorded a video of it (that’s how I know the exact time) but got instant claimed on YouTube so had to delete it for copyright reasons. However, I had collected everything before and knew exactly where to go. I think 4h is realistic for first playthrough (maybe 5h without guide if you never played the original).
2nd playthrough for Lost Souls goes a bit quicker because you can ignore all enemies and just rush the levels, another 2-3h for those.
Arkonite says
Awesome work as always 🙂
And very fast as well !
PowerPyx says
Video Guides are unlocking over the next couple of hours 🙂
Zhakey says
Hello friend, I comment that the trophy Stop hitting yourself is not missable. You can hit the ground and rocks will fall even if the dragon is not invoked. Greetings.
PowerPyx says
But trophy says “during Dragon Battle” it has to be done. It unlocks outside of the boss fight too? Then trophy description is wrong. I only tried during the boss.
Can someone else confirm this? If this is true then it’s not a missable after all.
Zhakey says
It is not necessary that it be during the battle, it can be before or after it.
IosonoOtakuman says
A quick note: “Stop Hitting Yourself” is not missabile, you can go back in the crystal caves later and obtain the trophy without the dragon.
PowerPyx says
Thanks, updated in guide now. The trophy description is wrong/misleading by saying it has to be during boss. Not missable after all 🙂
IosonoOtakuman says
No problem! ;)
Oh, about the Deathly Smorgasbord trophy, is there some kind of exploit beside what you said in the guide?
I died in like 20 different ways (and I completed the level immediately after of course) but I got nothing. I even tried dying in 8 different ways in the same level (in the time device) but still nothing. I…honestly don’t know why the trophy won’t pop out.
PowerPyx says
I’ve had other people reporting issues with it, I think it may be glitchy for some players. I got it by the time I reached 4th level.
What I’d do is to reinstall the game, delete all save games, start completely fresh. It only takes 15 minutes to get. Reinstalling often fixes trophy bugs.
foggy says
Nope, that doesn’t help. Although before last level where i could died 7th way, game crashed. Maybe crash nulls the trophy. I dunno, i’m getting crazy with that 7 deaths trophy.
foggy says
Yeah Stop hitting… is not missable, i can also confirm.
On the other hand, die 7 different ways trophy is glitched like hell, i cant get it, tried dying 20 different ways with all combinations.
TheLastofInfamousClank says
Fantastic game.
Screw the haters!
ProtoFenix says
Deathly Smorgasbord trophy glitched for me so i backed up my save and deleted the game and did a fresh start and it still didnt pop up and i died 10 different ways 🙁 , so i’ll come back to it when i finish all getting all the other trophies
Cloud5tr1f3 says
Thanks this worked for me and I just unlocked the trophy
governor says
How do you save?
Jonimaca says
Can i die multiple ways in a level count for the trophy? Like die 4 different ways in cemetery hill and the other 3 on mausoleum?
PowerPyx says
Yes counted for me.
Raizano says
Deathly smorgasbord gliched for me as well, waiting for fix in next patch…
Makkoh says
Hi guys, for “Deathly Smorgasbord” trophy try to die in “The Haunted Ruins”. After using the crown, a countdown will start and try not to run away and let the time run out. The trophy should pop after the game over. (don’t try to reinstall, i’ve tried in ten ways, it’s not useful. So instead, finally, I got it with this method)
Cloud5tr1f3 says
Thanks this worked for me just unlocked the trophy
Victor says
Dude! Thank you so much, all I needed for the plat.
foggy says
I love you.
Makkoh says
No problem! I’m Sir Daniel from the future and I’m here to serve! :D Jokes apart, I hope this will help, I literally tried everything yesterday and found out just today after many tries!
@PowerPyx I can confirm that since I’ve discovered about this, I’ve tried it again with my girlfriend account and it worked. You need to die in The Haunted Ruins in order to unlock it, otherwise you’ll get stuck, forever. (Of course you still need to die six different ways before)
PowerPyx says
Thanks, I added it to the trophy guide as well (to fix for glitch and to list of deaths).
I never died there and got the trophy but seems to work for a lot of people when it has glitched.
Makkoh says
No problem! ;)
My take is that the most secure and fast way to obtain this trophy is to: follow the first 7 steps of this guide and then let Daniel die during the countdown in “The Haunted Ruins”. Maybe adding this to the guide would help others too in order to get it at their first run!
Medievil1 says
So I went to the haunted ruins and let the timer run out and I still didn’t get it. I don’t know what to do now.

Another +1 for this working. Thanks!

Any idea what that glowing balloon with a face and a red paper hat is for? It can be found when you enter the arena where you fought the guardians of the cemetary in the left corner inside the small shed.
brando says
Its easter egg paying homage to the original game developers. “This game is dedicated to so and so (mr.apple?) If only we’d never taken off his magic hat.”
Medievil1 says
When does deathly smorgasbord unlock exactly? Is it after I finish level 4? Or as soon as I die 7 times?
PowerPyx says
As soon as you died the 4th time during game over screen. No need to finish the level.
Medievil1 says
Yeah I’m unsure then because I’ve reinstalled and deleted the save data twice then died 7 different ways again and it still isn’t working, do you have to die individually in each level like say I died by zombies then went through the level and then came back to it and drown then finished it. Or can I just die from everything then finish the level?
Makkoh says
Hey, try this: if you still have your old save, go to “The Haunted Ruins” and let Daniel die at the end of the level, when the coundown starts. The trophy should pop after the game over.
If you’ve already deleted everything and you’re starting with a new save, follow the first 7 steps of this guide and then go to “The Haunted Ruins” and die at the end of the level, like I said before.
Matt says
Do collectables carry over on 2nd playthrough if i miss some?

Actually, there is no 2nd playthrough. You can just load your save from the main menu after finishing and everything is accessible via level select. Nothing is missable!
Sewo1991 says
Hello from germany!
I’m confused and unsured about the Deathly Smorgasbord trophy – is it possible to get the trophy without deleting the game/save? It’s not clear…i’ve died until point 11, the same way in every point as you have described it in the guide. I got nothing too 🙁 don’t want to restart the game…
Can you please make a video too for this trophy? Would be great from you! 🙂
Greetings
Saul says
Confirmed if u go to the haunted ruins and die when the countdown reaches zero, you get the trophies. Was having the same issue and dieing in this way unlocked the trophy!
Medievil1 says
Okay cool I hope it works, I’m in the sleeping village currently and already died like eight different ways so I’ll let you know when I get to the haunted ruins, I just die after I get the crown?
Makkoh says
Exactly! 🙂 After you use the crown, you have to let the time run out and get the trophy! (if you’ve already done other deaths before)
Matt says
And is there chapter select also?
PowerPyx says
Yes (level select)
Saul says
Am I the only one not able to get ghost ship chalice? I end up with 83%. tried to kill the boss, nothing… Saw a couple of videos: old version had 17% from the boss at the end… new video of remake there is a guy getting 17% from the very first 2 skeletons… not for me tho… help?
brando says
What you want to do is find ways to get below deck, there are more enemies down below deck that you can miss easily if you do not get there, easiest way for me is I purposely fall through holes throughout the various sections of the ship that look like you would die but actually it just brings you to a below stage, for example the rope nets that you jump on that bounce you up in the air if you fall between them it will bring you to a below-deck part. there are multiple spots on the ship where you need to do this. I have always gotten the chalice this way without even counting percentage given from the boss at the end.
Makkoh says
Hey! In the area where you jump on the rope nets, have you tried to fall? Below, there is a group of enemies with the captain in the blue jacket, try to see if you missed those! 🙂
Csub says
For the ghst ship, you can only kill the elite soldiers, the ones with a hook for a hand and in bllue outfit. Killing those will kill their soldiers too. All of them are straighforward except for one group: when jumping across the fish net thingies, the square shaped ones towards the end, you wanna fall down there, there is a group there too.
Saul says
Yeah guys done the same level countless times… I end up at 83% no matter what. I’ve fell into everything… I believe the boss is supposed to give me %? I think my save game is glitched
Alex says
Same here…
Azley says
I guess you figured it out by now but just in case anyone else needs help with the Ghost Ship 83% thing: you need to jump on the moving platforms (the ones, that move in a circle and kinda look like a windmill). It will carry you to an elevator that looks like a cage. Step into it. When it moves up, there is the chalice on the left but if you take the the right path, there is the missing blue elite soldier. That got me to 100%.
Took me nearly 30 minutes of backtracking and wandering around till I noticed it.
TheLastOfInfamousClank says
Took me awhile, but I finally figured out how to get that chalice. Okay, so make sure you have at least 83% just BEFORE the Ghost Captain boss.
Go to where the Chalice is (you take that bird cage elevator near those swinging platforms).
At the top go RIGHT, the last Blue Captain will be there. Kill him and you should get 100% for the Chalice. Go immediately LEFT of that Last Captain (where the bird cage dropped you off) and you should also see the Chalice.
Like everyone said before, make sure you check all the BELOW deck areas, then towards the boss, you should get 83% ish.
TheLastofInfamousClank says
Tip for the Gimme That Back trophy. On the same level mentioned, wait until you get to the second floor and go through the Blue Stain Window. Carefully go into the room with about 5 imps carrying torches. Bait them towards the RIGHT side of the room and kill them. When you move towards the TOP of the room, a lone imp with NO Torch will pop out. Let that one steal your weapon and get it back. Voila!
jstjohn83 says
I am in the hilltop mausoleum and I think there’s a glitch. When I got to the three swords it doesn’t show in my inventory so I died at the final boss. Now I don’t have a club. When I got to the club at the end of the room it says you have a club but it is also not in my inventory so I’m stuck with just my hand.
PowerPyx says
You can quit out to the world map, collect a new club from Cemetery Hill. Also: the Club is useless against Stained Glass Demon Boss I think. He can only be hurt by hitting his heart (so throwing arm or daggers or shooting crossbow).
Medievil1 says
So I got the crown and let the time run out and died 7 different ways I still don’t have it. Any other solutions to deathly smorgasbord glitch?
TheLastofInfamousClank says
FYI, the “best way” to kill the Ant Queen is to wait and get the Spear. It does much more damage than the crossbow. However, the crossbow is much better/faster at killing her than charging up the hammer/club.
The trick to the fight is the worker ants, since they can gang up on you fast and do a lot of damage in groups!
Nicolai says
I just charged my hammer. Charge, run around and let the worker ants surround me and I smash. Also only hit the queen twice before the worker ants came. Worked fine. Killed her twice.
Rhodanles says
Any tips for Deathly Smorgasbord? I tried everything, even waiting in The Haunted Ruins and after countdown reached zero, nothing happened, i just died. I deleted my saves and started again, i died 10 times (dead by zombie, boulder, lava, fire, bomb, different type of zombie, scarecrow, bats, windmill, Scarecrow Fields traps, cornkillers, glass spikes and crumbling floor, i even let myself by killed by stained glass demon and nothing).
I ran out of ideas, now we have to probably just wait, before they fix it.
Saul says
I’ve got the trophy dieing like this:
1) zombie>game over>
2)drown>game over>finish level 1
3)lava>game over>
4)boulders>game over>
5)fire>game over>finish level 2
6)spikes>game over>
7)Crumbling floor>game over>finish level 3
8) bats>game over>
9)corn killers>game over>
10)windmill blade>game over>
11)blade trap>game over> finish scarecrow field
12) countdown zero in haunted ruins
trophy popped up
Rhodanles says
i have just tried it this way, exactly same order and nothing, it looks like when there is a problem with trophy, you can not fix it by yourself
gamerkomt says
After passing all the levels you need to start a new game or repeat levels?
PowerPyx says
There is level select on the map. No need to start new game.
gamerkomt says
Thank you ;)
2bNs says
Thanks for the great guide, as always.
I have two small additions:
1) Rock Wrangler
You can actually get hit while holding up the shield. This doesn’t void the trophy confitions and makes it a lot easier. I used a silver shield for the last few rocks after the “quick start” you described and got it frist try easily with this method.
2) The Answer Is Chicken
The guide is a bit misleading here for me. You wrote “You get 30 Chicken Legs (aka Chicken Drumsticks) every time you complete the Witch’s Quest”. But instead of stacking the drumsticks, she will actually refill to 30 drumsticks total. I didn’t throw the 30 sticks after i had finished the quest for the first time and therefore had to do it three times.
PowerPyx says
Thanks, I added in your tips / clarifications as well 🙂
SRGTsilent says
Mortan would be proud is bugged. But in a goodish way. Its possible to get this trophy very early on your first playthrough, I got it in Sleeping Village after killing a Boiler Guard.
Metonator1994 says
Almost a Hero Trophy is easier to do healing just one of the skeletons without moving, especially when you have all healing vials it’s hjard to spend them all when you heal them as intended.
Gabz says
thanks brotha! That did it for me! Cheers!
Sewo1991 says
The ghost ship bug is crap :/ played this level countless times…i saw in a video, the first two skeletons are giving %. Not for me. I fall into everything, kill every skeleton and end with 83%. I’m angry, played 2 hours for nothing!!! -_-
Azley says
As I’ve written above I had the same problem but you’re most probably missing the blue elite soldier near the chalice. Stand on the moving plattforms (the ones moving in a circle, looks kinda like a windmill) and step into the elevator (looks like a cage). Then take the right path – there’s the last blue soldier, which got me from 83% to 100%.
Hope this helps and works for you!
ownadi says
I’m not able to put to rest Baffy the Baffler on The Asylum Grounds. I’ve killed all 5 rhinoutaurs once and for some reason it didn’t complete. When I repeat the level, despite the fact I still have the soul in my inventory, TP prompt near the circular doesn’t show up anymore. Has anyone run into the same problem? This is my very last trophy to plat, and I’m afraid the game went into some weird state so I’ll have to repeat the entire game again 🙁
DDGNP says
Wouldn’t it be easier, safer and faster to just keep replying Dan’s Crypt for the 10,000 Gold trophy? You get about 250 per run and it takes less than a minute.
Justin says
For “The Answer Is Chicken” trophy…I’ve thrown my first 30, went back, redid the ant caves for ANOTHER 30, and I’ve thrown all those. And the trophy still hasn’t popped. This is driving me nuts…any ideas?
PowerPyx says
Complete level after throwing legs so it saves progress.
Medievil1 says
I GOT IT OMG I HAD TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME AGAIN BUT I GOT DEATHLY SMORGASBORD!
Ibrahim Sozer says
F*ck me, Collect all the Chalice rewards and Collect all the Life bottle’s are missable if you miss the final reward.
Ibrahim Sozer says
Looks like I didn’t get the chalice from collecting all fairies :P
Kenneth says
Do i have to have 10000 Gold coins at the same at one time, – Or.can i collect and use the coins, and still get the Sir Moneybags Trophy?
ownadi says
You can use them. The guide explains it pretty well.
Azley says
No, you don’t need to have them at the same time. Spend those coins all you want ;)
prosperoust says
Anyone have any tips for combat in general? I just keep getting destroyed, and I’m only on the enchanted earth “normal” level — I’ve got 5 life bottles and have yet to be able to defeat the ant queen.
PowerPyx says
It’s really a matter of using the right weapon.
A trick for Enchanted Earth and next levels is to power up the hammer with and smash it on the ground near enemies. Does nice area damage and you can keep your distance to enemies. Throwing the axe is also good against flying enemies as it does lots of damage but for grounded enemies it’s a bit slow. Enchanted Sword is best weapon but unlocks late in the game, so make sure you get all chalices as you go through the game.
TheLastofInfamousClank says
Take it slow and steady. Don’t rush into combat and use range.
The throwing knives are cheap and plentiful, so use it on the frogs and plants.
For the shadow demons, save your enchanted broadsword (or if you have the magic sword, even better!).
As for the boss, use the fire bow. Regular bow is okay, too. Wait for the platform to stop flipping over then attack.
TheLastofInfamousClank says
Sorry, the last part I said was for the real boss of Enchanted Earth.
The Queen Ant, the crossbow works really well. The challenge lies in the worker ants.
Jake says
Just so you know, the Dan at arms trophy for every weapon doesn’t trigger if a gargoyle is holding one of your weapons that was stolen, you also need to have them all in your inventory at once. Also the Mr moneybags also counts spent money, you don’t need to have 10,000 at one time.
PowerPyx says
Thanks, added the note about weapons to the weapon guide.
The info for moneybags was already in the trophy guide.
ObiWanish says
i am kinda afraid i will accidently start a new game,
Will it show a warn you like Yes or No if you want to start a new game?
Powerpyx i need your guidence on this 🙁
PowerPyx says
After the story it just puts you back on the world map. The only way to start a new game is to do so from the main menu, but you have 3 different save slots. You’d have to really go out of your way to start a new game and to overwrite an existing save. Don’t worry about it, nothing you could do by accident.
ObiWanish says
Wait there are 3 save slots? didn’t know that, thats good to know. thanks powerpyx ^_^
Phil M says
There is an easier way to replenish the chicken legs. Let an imp steal one and buy it back from the gargoyles. They will give you back up to 30 for 100 gold.
Cinderkin says
I give up! Deleted my save, deleted the game, reinstalled, died 15 times, no trophy. Let the timer run out at the haunted ruins, no trophy. I was one away from the Platinum. I’m done playing this game. Wasted so much time on this stupid trophy.
Johan Vos says
Old school sneaky is not popping at all! Slow, quick, fast,… nothing works. Could language be the issue? I do not understand at all. Tried ALL the cheats available. What am I doing wrong.
Chapsy says
Unless I’m missing something I don’t think there’s a way to get back to the Hall of Heroes in the post game. I somehow missed cashing in the 20th chalice for the final life bottle and missed the trophy for it as a result. Now I have to play the entire game and get all chalices in order to get that one.
Would be really nice if you could travel to the HoH as needed, especially considering you can see it on the map.
PlatinumRenegade says
Hey, just wanted to point out that you can also get the “If It Slithers, I Slays” trophy from defeating the Dragon Serpent in the Haunted Ruins while going for all the Lost Souls for anyone who was having difficulty fighting it in their story playthrough (like I was)
Franskhotdog says
I am very confused and i think i am doing something wrong. I have over 80 platinum trophies and a good amount of hard ones too, so i consider myself a decent gamer. But i am already struggeling at the Scarecrow level and are dying all the time from those spinning scarecrows… how is this a 2,5/10 platinum?
PowerPyx says
Sounds like you didn’t get the chalices in each level. You need them for new weapons. If you don’t get all chalices as you proceed through the game you’re in for a tough time. Also, if you have trouble in a level, get a better weapon and do the chalice later (scarecrows are very easy once you got the good weapons).
Lee says
giving the knights everything i have tophy seems bugged for me its just no unlocking at all
BodyChipper says
I wonder if deathly smorgasboard is just misunderstood:
The trophy says to die in 7 different WAYS
The list above basically boils down to being 1: killed by enemies (any type), 2: spikes, 3: falling, 4: burning (lava, campfire), 5: being hit by a moving object (cannonball, rock, trap, windmill, etc), 6: drowning, 7: running out of time, and then maybe lightning for only 8 total possible ways. It’s possible lightning counts as being killed by an enemy technically.
Maybe that’s why it seems glitched but really isn’t. I only did the deaths from the first 3 levels (killed by enemy, drowned, burned 2 ways, hit by rocks/object, spikes, and fell to my death, but if burning counts as lava or the fire, then the reason it only popped when I did the time out in haunted ruins was because I only had 6 ways at that point. I did no other types of death at all and didn’t die from electricity ever. I only dies once during my entire first playthrough and it was by enemies. I did this trophy afterwards and never dies any other way than what I listed.
Hawkwind666 says
Hey PowerPyx. I am not sure if 8-10 hours is accurate for the Platinum. It seems closer to 15+ hours due to 2.5 playhroughs being needed. I am only on level 10 and already played for around 6 hours.
Nicolai says
For some reason would Arsonist not pop using Dragon Armor. I burned every enemy in The Graveyard and there is 47 zombies.
I decided to try the fire arrows and it popped.
TrophyCheese says
Just got Deathly Smorgasbord, the key is the different WAYS you die (As BodyChipper mentioned).
1. Killed by Enemy
2. Spikes
3. Falling
4. Burned
5: Moving object/trap
6. Drowning
7. Time Limit
Hope this helps!
Puyatnarabbit says
For The Answer Is Chicken,
You don’t need to repeat the quest. Just let the IMPS steal your chicken then collect it in the Merchant and it will refill to 30.
Anonymous says
I know I’m years too late for this to be relevant, but this game’s Platinum trophy difficulty supposedly being a 2.5/10 and 6-8 hours long to earn was definitely not the case for me. It took me about 15 hours and I’d say the difficulty was a 5/10.
Even when collecting all chalices and life bottles, the game can be quite a struggle because your health/lives aren’t restored at the start of a level, falling to your death results in the health bar being completely depleted and certain bosses require obscure solutions. I was expecting a nice, easy action-platformer, but instead got this archaic game with multiple annoying design decisions. I dislike this game and would not recommend it.
By the way, the 7 deaths trophy is still glitched but can be fixed by going to Hilltop Mausoleum and letting the timer run out (only do this after confirming you already have had 7 different “game over” deaths).
