On the Blood Path is a side mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the On the Blood Path Side Quest.
On the Blood Path is unlocked when you’ve started and progressed half-way through the Main mission Hammerlocked.

Area: The Anvil
Quest Giver: Ramsden
Requirement: progressed in Hammerlocked
Recommended Level: 25
Reward: Money + Optional (Side with Holder): Epic Shield “Brawler Unpaler” -OR- Optional (Open door for Ramsden): Rare Shotgun “Iron-Willed Fingerbiter”
Mission Info: A totally harmless guy names Ramsden needs you to free his best buddy Holder from a brutal bandit gang called the Shanks.

- Take the Key
- Unlock Gate
- Find Holder
- Kill Shanks
- Find Holder’s Cell
- Open Holder’s Cell

- Side with Holder
-OR- - Open Door for Ramsden
- Side with Holder

Starting Location: On the Blood Path
Open Door
Proceed through the hallways, taking out a few enemies along the way. Once you reach the Door, press the button next to it to open it.
Search Guard Station for Key (1)
Now you will need to find a cell key. No matter in which order you look at the three locations, it should always be in the last spot.
One is a small chest on a big crate.
Search Guard Station for Key (2)
One will be a safe next to a corpse.
Search Guard Station for Key (3)
A toilet. Of course…
Take the Key
Grab it and proceed.
Unlock Gate
Once found, use the key at the Gate nearby to continue your search for Holder.
Find Holder
This is an objective, which is displayed until you’ve actually found him a bit later.
Kill Shanks
Along the way to the cell’s, there will be a few more Shank’s who deserve a beating.
Find Holder’s Cell
Approach the Cell’s on the upper floor of the building – Holder’s is the last on the left.
Open Holder’s Cell
Press the button to head inside.
Check on Holder
Check the unconscious/dead person. Ramsden will confirm via Radio that this isn’t Holder.
Search Cell
Go in the adjacent Cell, where the wall was torn down. Interact with the plate on the ground, which covers a hole in the floor.
Follow Hole
Jump through the Hole and continue along the way.
Defeat the Shanks
Of course, there will be a few more Shanks before we are able to talk to Holder. Get rid of them by any means.
Talk with Holder
Once the coast is clear, Holder will come out of his hideout.
He and Ramsden tell conflicting stories.
Side with Holder OR Ramsden
Now it is your turn to side with any of the two guys. There are no real consequences here.
Press the button-prompt at any of the two spots to choose your side.
Kill Holder / Ramsden
Kill whoever you distrusted more.
Kill Enemy Faction
And take out his companions along the way.
Talk to Holder / Ramsden
Once the coast is clear, head back and claim your reward from whoever you decided to fight with.
This finishes On the Blood Path side mission in Borderlands 3.
