Mortal Kombat 11 Trophy Roadmap

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 4/10 – can let the AI play almost everything for you (including Towers of Time) and can use Skip Tokens to skip difficult matches
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: 50+ hours (because of the 5 victory cosmetics, getting 5 character intros & impaling a head on Warrior Shrine — everything else can be done in about 10 hours)

Introduction

Welcome to the Mortal Kombat 11 Trophy Guide! This game has a trophy list that looks simple at first glance, but comes with some grindy surprises. Luckily you can let the AI play almost everything for you in Klassic Towers & Towers of Time and you may use Skip Tokens (randomly found in Krypt Chests) to skip the hardest fights. Getting 5 Character Victories requires you to get the head of 5 characters first, which requires you to do 25 fatalities against the same character in Towers of Time / Klassic Towers to get his/her head (25 fatalities x 5 opponents = 125 fatalities). Victories and Intros can also randomly drop from Towers of Time or in the Krypt which is really random but can make things easier. The below Roadmap is what’s recommended but you can do these steps in any order you like.

Step 1: Tutorials

To get to know the game mechanics you should start with the 3 tutorial trophies. Simply complete all tutorials (except character-specific tutorials). If you need help you can press the Touchpad and the AI will show you how to perform the required attack with the timing of the button presses.

Step 2: Story

Play through Story Mode! In Chapter 4, make sure you always pick Sub-Zero (there are 4 choices and you can either pick Scorpion or Sub-Zero). If you always picked Sub-Zero you will unlock the bonus character “Frost” at the end of Chapter 4. If you made a wrong choice you can still go back via chapter select to pick Sub-Zero instead of Scorpion. In total there are 12 chapters so beat all of them. You don’t have to complete all choices, just reach the end of Chapter 12 with any choices.

Step 3: 2 Different Fatalities with every Character

Each character (24 characters – except Shao Kahn) has a bronze trophy tied to them for doing both their Fatalities- That’s 24 quick bronze trophies in total. Luckily, you don’t need to unlock the secondary fatalities for this, you don’t even have to perform them yourself! There’s a very easy trick: Go to Klassic Towers > Endless Tower. Select the Character you want to do both Fatalities with, then press :square: to turn AI Fighter ON. Now lean back and let the AI win matches for you, it will automatically use both Fatalities. You just need to click Kontinue between matches, other than that no button input is required by you. This also works in Online AI Battles.

Step 4: Krypt Trophies

The Krypt is where you exchange koins to open chests. There are a bunch of trophies you can do here. It will take about 1 million koins to open the 200 chests needed for “Grave Robber”.

Step 5: Online Trophies

There are 5 Trophies tied to Online Modes. Luckily, you don’t have to win a single match nor do you need to play ranked matches. They are relatively quick to do and very easy.

Step 6: Unlock 5 New Intros & 5 New Victories (Towers of Time & Krypt)

You must unlock 5 new Intros and 5 new Victories. Their requirements can be viewed under Main Menu > Kustomize > Characters > :x: to pick a Character > :x: after selecting the Character to view Gear > :r1: to switch to Kosmetics > :x: to view Kosmetics. Scroll over each Intro & Victory to view the unlock requirement. While they can drop randomly from Krypt Chests, there are much more reliable methods that are guaranteed to give these items.

Best Way to Unlock Intros: There’s a reliable way to get the intros. In Towers of Time, in the top left corner you can buy character towers for 25,000 koins per character. This unlocks 5 character specific towers. Beat all 5 to get a new intro for that character. Repeat for 5 different characters. Luckily you can let the AI play this for you! in character select press :x: to select your character, then press :square: to turn AI Fighter ON. Then the AI beats all opponents for you and you just need to press “Kontinue” between matches to advance. Additionally, you can use the Skip-Tokens, which you can obtain from the Krypt. It lets you skip a tower fight completely. An alternative easier (but grindier) method is to impale 10 heads in the Krypt (see next paragraph below “Best Way to Unlock Victories”). After impaling 10 heads a door opens at the start of the Krypt with chests that costs 25,000 koins and contain 1 character intro each.

Best Way to Unlock Victories: You get victories for impaling the heads of characters in the Krypt. To get these heads you must defeat the SAME opponent 25 times with a fatality (not brutality) in Klassic Towers or Towers of Time (Versus Matches don’t count). For the quickest method go to Klassic Towers > Endless > pick Scorpion > press :square: to turn AI Fighter ON. The AI finishes the match with a fatality 90% of the time (brutalities don’t count). When the fight against the 2nd tower character starts, pause the game and pick “Finish Tower”. This will end the tower but the order of opponents will stay the same and you can grind this out against the 1st person in the tower. Restart the tower, turn AI fighter ON and let it do a fatality on the same first opponent again, quit to Tower when second match starts, repeat. After 25 fatalities against the same character, their head will drop as a match reward. Then you can impale it at the Warrior Shrine in the Krypt (see trophy “Skull Kabob”) to get 1 victory for that character. Quitting out from the Tower Menu to the Main Menu changes the first character in the tower, allowing you to farm the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th head. Do this until you got the heads of 5 different characters (5 x 25 fatalities = 125 fatalities). This also counts towards the trophy for playing 250 Towers. It takes around 1.5 hours per character but the AI will fight for you automatically and your only manual input is to restart the tower.

You might still have some miscellaneous trophies left like “Total Disrespect” or “Not Dead Yet” so grab them now for the platinum.

No Bad Match Ups

Go to Main Menu > Learn > Tutorial > Strategy Tutorial. Finish all tutorials in this section to unlock the trophy (17 tutorials total – spread across 3 categories “Building Combos”, “Advantage & Pressure”, “Positioning & Resources”). Blood In The Water
Spill 10,000 pints of blood
This will be one of your first trophies and will happen completely automatic. No way to miss this on the way to platinum since blood spills on most attacks, finishers etc.

Perform 15 different FATALITIES

Perform 30 different FATALITIES

Each character in the game has a trophy tied to them that requires you to use both their fatalities. Every character has 2 fatalities. The button combo for the primary Fatality is available from the start. However, the secondary fatality’s button combo is hidden. It can still be used though.

There are 25 characters x 2 fatalities each = 50 different fatalities in the game. So while going for all those bronze trophies you’ll get the “MURDER!!!” trophy for doing 30 automatically.

The easiest way to get all of the character-specific fatality trophies is as follows:

  1. Go to Main Menu > Konquer > Klassic Towers > Endless Tower.
  2. Press :x: once to select the Character whose Fatalities you need, then press :square: to turn AI Fighter ON. This means the CPU will fight for you! Press :x: once more to confirm and start the tower.
  3. The CPU will easily win the matches and 80% of the time will use a fatality to end the match. Sometimes it uses the primary fatality, sometimes the secondary fatality. Even though you haven’t unlocked the second fatality the CPU still uses it and does everything for you! You still earn all character-specific Fatality trophies without even playing! Just lean back, enjoy the show and let the AI do the work for you!

There’s about a 50% chance the AI will use the primary or the secondary fatality. Just let it run in Endless tower until the trophy pops, then select the next fighter in Endless Tower and turn AI on again. The same method also works in AI Online Fights, the trophies will still pop there, no need to play anything yourself for this. Enjoy your free trophies.
Brutal End
Perform 25 BRUTALITIES

Psychopath
Perform 100 BRUTALITIES
Brutalities are a special way to finish off your opponent. You can view them in any character’s move list under “Finishers”. The easiest option is to hold :down: + :triangle: on the final hit to knock off the opponent’s head (only works if you haven’t blocked during the last round).

There’s a quick way to farm this:

  1. In Main Menu press Touchpad (Game Options) > Gameplay > Rounds to Win = 1
  2. Go to Main Menu > Fight > Local > Pick any Character (I used Scorpion) > :square: to enable CPU opponent > pick Very Easy difficulty
  3. With these settings the match only lasts 1 Round. Exclusively use the Uppercut during the match: :down: + :triangle: (hold button). On the final hit it will do a Brutality.

It only takes a few seconds per match. After the match hit retry.

Not Dead Yet
Show MERCY 10 times

MERCY is a special move that revives a dying opponent and gives them a bit of health back. It can only be used in the last round of the match! When it says “Finish Him / Her” go at mid-distance and press :l2: + :down: , :l2: + :down: , :l2: + :down: to activate MERCY (press this same button combo 3 times in quick succession). To make it easier just spam :l2: + :down: in quick succession. Do this in 10 matches for the trophy. Mid-distance means you must be about 4 steps away from the opponent. It doesn’t work if you’re very close or very far away from the opponent!

Step 1: From the Main Menu press Options-Button to go to Game Options > Gameplay > Rounds to Win = 1.

Step 2: Fight > Local > Pick any character (doesn’t matter, works with everyone) and select CPU opponent on VERY EASY.

Step 3: Deplete the opponent’s health so it shows “Finish Him / Her”.

Step 4: At mid-distance press :l2: + :down: , :l2: + :down: , :l2: + :down: in quick succession (press same button combo 3 times). To make it easier simply spam :l2: + :down: in quick succession to trigger the MERCY. A golden text that says “MERCY” will show up in the middle of the screen and it revives your opponent and gives them some health left. Mid-distance means you’re about 4 steps away from the opponent (not very close and not very far away).

Step 5: Finish off your opponent, click “Retry” after match and repeat the Mercy move 10 times. You can only use it once per match!
Grave Robber
Open 200 Krypt chests
Chests are everywhere in the Krypt. They can be opened with Koins. They range from about 2,000 Koins to well over 10,000 Koins. Just stick to the cheapest Chests. It will cost around 1 Million Koins to open 200 Chests. The green pots that cost souls (green currency) don’t count, only chests that require koins will work for this!

You get Koins for everything you do in the game. Finishing matches with a Fatality or Brutality gives around 300 bonus Koins, so always do that.

The quickest (although hardest) way to make koins is from Towers of Time. They give huge Koin Rewards for beating the tower so if you’re great at the game that’s the best thing to do. Alternatively, Klassic Towers also give decent Koin Rewards and are easier than Towers of Time.

How to Boost Koins (Turbo Controller Method): If you have a Turbo Controller you can boost Koins in Endless Towers or Online AI Battles. Go to Klassic Towers >  Endless Tower, pick any character and press :square: to Turn AI Fighter ON (the AI fights for you). Then Turbo :x: to let the AI grind the matches for you until it loses. If you are away for many hours you can go Main Menu > Fight > AI Battle > Turbo the :x: Button.

Play 50 Kasual Versus matches
*Online Trophy*

Go to Main Menu > Fight > Online > Versus (make sure Kompetitive Mode = Off, it can be turned on/off by pressing :square: button).

Play 50 online versus matches total (offline versus doesn’t count). It doesn’t matter if you win or lose.

Half Way There

This trophy will unlock when you finish the first match in Chapter 7 playing as Kitana.

Pay 100 total respect points in King of the Hill
*Online Trophy*

Go to Main Menu > Fight > Online > King of the Hill (KOTH).

The first match you enter will be blurred out but keep watching! At the end of every following match you get to give the winning player up to 10 “Respect” Points. Always give the maximum of 10 Respect after each match. So you just need to watch 10 matches in KOTH and always vote with 10 Respect Points to earn this trophy. No need to play or win anything in this mode, just watch and vote.
Klassic

Komplete the Novice, Warrior, or Champion Klassic Towers with 10 different kharacters

Go to Main Menu > Konquer > Klassic Towers > Novice (5 Enemies) > Select a Character by pressing :x: once > press :square: to turn AI Fighter ON > put it on VERY EASY.

Now the AI will play for you and finish the tower all by itself. You just need to click :x: between matches. After the 5th Tower opponent is defeated you unlock the ending for your chosen character. Do this for 10 characters total.

You can keep track of the progress under Main Menu > Kustomize > Kollection > Endings (check for how many chars you got the ending unlocked).

250 towers can be boosted in about 2.5 hours.

Here’s the quickest way to boost towers:

  1. Go to Main Menu > Konquer > Klassic Towers > Endless.
  2. Start the tower (just pick Scorpion, it’s the quickest choice).
  3. As soon as the match starts press Options-Button (Pause Menu) > Finish Tower.

It will instantly end the tower without having played a single match and still counts towards this trophy! It took me a little over 2 hours to do it this way. It’s best to keep this trophy for last because you’ll play a fair amount of towers for other trophies anyway, which reduces the grind later on.

Easy Boosting Method (Turbo Controller): If you have a Turbo Controller you can simply Turbo the :x: button in Endless tower. It will automatically lose the first match and starts a new tower for you. Thus you don’t need any manual input and can just leave it for 4 hours to pop the trophy without any work.

Teamwork
Play a Group Battle with 2 other players

Step 1: Go to Main Menu > Konquer > Towers of Time > Beat the 4 Tutorial Towers.

Step 2: After beating the 4 Tutorial Towers you will unlock the “real” towers. These change constantly every few days. One of them is usually a boss tower. You can tell because it has only 1 opponent in it. Select the boss tower and it will bring up the “Group Battle” screen. Pick “Search for Players” or “Invite Players”.

The trophy will unlock as soon as the match starts. No need to win the match!

Frost is the only character you must manually unlock! You get her by picking all 4 Sub-Zero choices in Chapter 4 of the Story. This chapter consists of 4 fights and you can always choose between Scorpion or Sub-Zero. Always pick Sub-Zero during Chapter 4. If you picked Scorpion you can replay the fight in Chapter Select and pick Sub-Zero this time. Then you’ll unlock Frost at the end of Chapter 4.

Total Disrespect
Defeat an opponent as Bug-Vorah

Bug-Vorah is the “Mother Bug” special ability from D’Vorah that you must equip in character customizaton first.

Step 1: Go to Main Menu > Kustomize > Characters > D’Vorah (press :x: to select her).

Step 2: Immediately after selecting her, press :left: and :x: to Create Kustom Variation. Press :x: again to select the default icon.

Step 3: Press :x: on the new Custom built > 2 x :r1: to switch to “Abilities”.

Step 4: Unequip the pre-selected Abilities by pressing :x: on them (the ones that have a golden checkbox).

Step 5: Now you can equip the last Ability on the list called “Mother Bug”. This ability triggers automatically and summons Bug-Vorah when your health has depleted in the last round.

Optional Step: Go to Main Menu > Press Options-Button > Gameplay > Rounds to Win = 1 (makes the match shorter)

Step 6: Go to Main Menu > Fight > Local > select D’Vorah and press :left: to select your custom loadout. Make sure the two Mother Bug icons are showing, this means it saved the loadout correctly. If these ability icon’s aren’t showing it means you must go back into the ability customization and save it again to ensure Mother-Bug is properly selected.

Step 7: Put the Match on Very Easy difficulty. Damage the opponent until they have only a little health left. Then let them defeat you. As soon as your health is gone it summons Bug-Vorah to the rescue! Now you fly around with this little bug and hit the opponent with it to win the match! It automatically turns you back to D’Vorah after defeating the opponent. Hit him one more time and the match will be won and the Total Disrespect trophy will unlock.

These are simulated battles against AI teams from other players. Play 25 of these matches (doesn’t matter if you win or lose). You can press the Touchpad to put in on x4 Speed, which makes this go a lot faster.

Personally, I had good results with the following team (about 70% win ratio): Noob Saibot, Liu Kang, Baraka. While winning isn’t mandatory it does give you more koins which never hurts.

Also keep in mind you can grind out all Fatality trophies in this mode. When the AI uses both fatalities it still gives you the trophy without doing anything for it.
My Magic Shoes
Run 5 miles in the Krypt
Go to Main Menu > Konquer > Krypt. Walk around for 5 miles. You can run by holding :r2: but walking counts towards the 5 miles, too! You should get this automatically while going for the other Krypt trophies (opening 200 Chests).

Have We Met
Equip 5 different character intros

To view all Character Intros and their unlock requirements go to Main Menu > Kustomize > Characters > :x: to pick a Character > :x: after selecting the Character to view Gear > :r1: to switch to Kosmetics > :x: to view Kosmetics. Scroll over each Intro & Victory to view the unlock requirement.

Character Intros are rewards from the Krypt & from Towers of Time. You must unlock 5 of them! Then you can go back to Kustomize > Characters > Kosmetics and equip them there for the trophy. There are 4 Intros per Character (x25 Characters = 100 Intros in the game).

Best Way to Get Guaranteed Intros: First beat the Towers of Time Tutorial. Then in Towers of Time, in the top left corner you can find the Character Towers. It costs 25,000 Koins to unlock the towers for one Character (so spend it on the chars you’re great with). If you beat all 5 towers of one character you get an intro as a reward. Repeat for 5 different characters to get 5 intros. This is the most reliable way. Luckily you can let the AI play this for you (no need to play yourself)! in character select press :x: to select your character, then press :square: to turn AI Fighter ON. Then the AI beats all opponents for you and you just need to press “Kontinue” between matches to advance. Additionally, you can use the Skip-Tokens, which you can obtain from the Krypt. It lets you skip a tower fight completely.

Easiest Way to get 5 Intros without playing Character Towers: Simply impale 10 heads in the Krypt, at the Warrior Shrine (see trophy Skull Kabob). After 10 heads a secret door opens at the very start of the Krypt with chests inside that cost 25,000 koins each and they all contain 1 intro each. By opening 5 chests in that room you get the 5 intros instantly! Refer to the Skull Kabob trophy on how to get and farm the heads (this method will take 15 hours but doesn’t require any skill whatsoever).

Intros can also be bought for real money in the in-game shop (microtransactions). The shop inventory changes frequently.
Victorious
Equip 5 different character victories

Do this until you got the heads of 5 different characters (5 x 25 fatalities = 125 fatalities). This also counts towards the trophy for playing 250 Towers. It takes around 1.5 hours per character but the AI will fight for you automatically and your only manual input is to restart the tower.

Victories can also be bought for real money in the in-game shop (microtransactions). The shop inventory changes frequently.

The Warrior Shrine is found in the Courtyard Area of the Krypt, where the Meteor Crashed through the white statues (near 2nd Gong and the big gate that requires Horn of Motaro to open). It’s on the wall opposite of the white statues. There you’ll see the heads of all playable Mortal Kombat 11 Characters on the wall.

Note: Quitting to Main Menu will change the characters in all towers!

  3. To unlock Frost you do not have to pick Sub-Zero for every fight in Chapter 4, I picked Scorpion for all fights and still unlocked her.

    • Yeah it doesn’t matter who you choose, I chose scorpion twice and sub zero twice, I think the requirements are just to complete chapter 4.

  4. So, the 7/10 is from trying to force unlocks? Or spend lots of time in the Krypt/get lucky? The list seems easier than MKX which I didn’t think was that hard outside the ranked matches and I suck at the game.

    • The 7/10 estimate is when you do it legit with minimal Skip-Tokens.
      It can be a 10/10 or it can be a 1/10. It depends how many Skip Tokens you use and what towers you get, since each has different modifiers. Some matches are impossible because enemies have buffs that give them double health and you’re bombarded with fire, ice, and homing missiles environmental modifiers every 3 seconds which are unblockable (while the enemy is also attacking you). Without skip Token these would be a 10/10. The towers are different for every char (and the other Towers of Time are randomly generated). The more Skip Tokens you grind the easier it gets.

      If you want to make it a 1/10 you might as well grind out 15 million+ koins with a Turbo controller over a month in AI Online Battles (just Turbo the X-Button and let it sit for a month, you make about 500,000 koins per day for doing nothing) and spend that on random krypt chests and hope to get lucky with the drops from there, then it’s a 1/10.
      If you do it the legit way, which I assume most people will, you’ll end up playing character towers for the intros and won’t have enough Tokens to skip every fight.

      I don’t know what to do for impaling a head at Warrior Shrine yet. I heard it might be for doing lots of brutalities in Towers of Time with one character. Nobody has it yet, though. How to get the 5 victory customizations also seems utterly random. It’s a luck based platinum.

      Once I know how to do the trophy at the Warrior Shrine I’ll split the difficulty rating between doing it without Turbo controller legit and with Turbo controller. Because legit is anywhere from 4/10 – 10/10 (depending on how many Skip Tokens you get randomly dropped from Krypt and how difficult your towers are) – and with Turbo Controller just grinding out tens of millions of koins for months on end it’s a 1/10 – 2/10.

    • A Turbo Controller is where you “Turbo” (loop) the same button infinitely. E.g. you loop the X-Button and the controller “presses” this button automatically, infinite times. So it keeps doing this 24 hours a day without any actual button input by you.
      Since MK and other fighting games always had grindy trophies, a lot of people who play these games will have such a controller.

    • It seems with victories being all RNG, would you not wait until you have all of those to try for the intros? That would save up skip tokens and surely get a few intros along the way to getting the victories. RNG may give you 5 intros first even.

  5. How easy would it be to just stock up on 50 skip fight tokens (presuming 10 towers x 5 fights per tower) and avoid all the character tower fights altogether.

    Seems really annoying that RNG achievements is what will stop the completion for most.

  6. This may be a dumb question but you said you can press square in let the ai fight for you. Can that be used infinitely? Cuz if you can do that wouldn’t you be able to let the ai fight for you for those hard tower matches?

    • For me somehow I can play with AI in all of the towers of time matches. Including character towers. I have been playing with AI already have 2 intros.

  9. Hey PP, Im not sure about the Online AI battle for grinding koins. I left it overnight and got close to 15k koins. I dont think Im doing it wrong 🙁

    • I got 180k in 8 hours just turboing AI online battle. It depends how often you win because losing doesn’t give many koins. I picked Noob Saibot + Liu Kang + Baraka.
      You can also turbo the Endless Klassic Tower with AI Fighter turned ON but after 15-25 matches the AI will lose and then you get stuck so it’s only good for about 40 minutes. You just have to pick the AI fighter manually and then turbo X so it advances to the next fight.

      Either way it’s free koins for doing absolutely nothing.

      Did you changed anything on the AI options? I put all the points on reversals and combos (just like Injustice 2).

    • I’ve seen 50 fatalities, 50 brutalities, and 100 of a mix so I honestly have no clue. I have done 100 brutalities against d’vorah and still no head so it is probably the 50 fatalities.

  19. Skull kaboob can be done by fatality 50 times against any opponent. You can start a tower fatality a opponent quit out tower when the second fight starts rinse and repeat when a new tower comes with a different opponent to get 5 victories trophy.

    • I just unlocked it. By doing fatalities against said character head you want in ANY tower. Best options: Klassic towers, endless tower when it’s the head you’re looking for. Why: because after the one kill, 2nd match you can ‘exit’ via ‘finishing the tower. Work towards your tower completion at the same time.

      If the endless tower first opponent isn’t who you desire, simply back out to main menu, then back in. Cycles the towers. Just be mindful if you leave the Klassic tower selection page it resets. So once you have your character, try to knock it out. I just did scorpion.

      Does not need to be in towers of time and does not have Brutalities. Hell, don’t think Brutalities even count towards it.

  20. What did you do for the master of time trophy with the turbo controller? I have a joystick one and it didn’t lose the first match, actually ended up getting quiet far actually in the tower. Good for coins but not for the trophy.

    • For master of time, simply start a klassic tower of endless. Beat the first guy, then as soon as the 2nd match starts, pause and select “finish tower”. Counts as a completed tower. Repeat. I’d do this with the Skull Kabob cheevo for the head you want. ? enjoy!

    • Indeed you can, but it really isn’t necessary. I’m terrible at fighting games and Very Easy gets maybe 2-3 hits on you (if that) a match.

  22. A good way to knock out 250 towers and get 5 character victories at the same time is farming the ToT single boss towers. In the random tower events that last 2-3 hours, 1 of the 3 or 4 towers in them is a tower with just 1 boss fight that is only 1 round. I just farmed out one with noob saibot 50+ times using AI, while I watched netflix. The AI only got fatality on him 4 out of 5 times but it’s better than doin it yourself. The trophy for 125 towers popped just before I got noob saibots severed head for the kabob trophy and 1 character victory. I’d obviously done a ton of towers prior, but if you haven’t, you can just work toward 5 heads / 5 character victories this way and you’ll get 250 towers done before you get the last head.

    for the trophy Skull Kabob you need to perform 50 fatalities with any fighter to the same opponent, not brutalities. I’ve tried this several times now and it always worked with exactly 50 fatalities.

    It doesn’t have to be done consecutively or in one sitting and you can do it in any tower on any difficulty.

  27. To everybody having trouble with intro and victorys its very easy you need 50 finishers on the same character to get his head this will always give you a victory do this 5x for intros you go to the character section of the tower of time and turn on the AI you can get 5 from doing this.

  29. Hey Pyx, just to note, I think some trophies just take longer to unlock. For example the Get Over Here trophy. For some people it unlocked further after 60 or 70 bodies but for me I only did 50 and it unlocked after 15 20 mins of just going for other trophies. Same thing happened with Have we met and Victorious trophies

  30. A couple of things regarding intros:

    1) I can confirm that you will be able to purchase these with Time Krystals. These are starting to go on sale in the premium store for 24 hour time periods. There is a Scorpion intro on sale for 750 Time Krystals for the next 16 hours as of writing this (April 28th, 11:30pm GMT).

    I fortunately had over 1,000 from gameplay, so I bought it. As I am playing on Xbox, I have the benefit of an achievement tracker, and upon equipping it my achievement tracker went up 20% on my Xbox, so it DOES count if you buy it from the store. Whether these go up daily will remain to be seen, but I doubt this will be a one-off occurrence.

    I strongly discourage people from buying micro-transactions yet, because a) it costs real money… b) I can’t confirm how frequently intros will appear on store. However, if you want to save a reasonably large grind in store buying 5 intros on 5 different days should cost you 3,750 Krystals, on the basis that they remain at the same value of 750 Krystals. In terms of real money would cost you around £22 / $28 (1150 + 2500 Krystal pack + another 100 krystals earned naturally).

    2) The quickest method for victories, by now, has been confirmed to get 50+ fatalities against any character in a klassic tower. Every time you do this, you get a crate with a victory pose in there (to my knowledge, guaranteed). You only need to do this 5 times to get 5 victories for that achievements, BUT if you do it 10 times someone on psnprofiles.com has reported that it will open Shang Tsungs treasure vault (a door located right at the start of the krypt). It has a “bunch” (unconfirmed number) of 25k chests, that all have intros and victories in them.

  31. Alrighty, this trophy guide is all done now!
    – Added the best farming method for the 5 heads / 5 victories
    – Added Platinum Difficulty rating. They made the Towers of Time easier through a recent hotfix (and a proper patch is coming soon). Modifiers that were unblockable before are now blockable and their spawn rate were reduced. It’s much more doable now and if you’re stuck you can use a Skip Token to just skip the fight. My final rating is 5/10 but it can be harder or easier depending on how many Skip Tokens you’re willing to farm (the more, the easier).

      One final question before I mop up; I personally can only change regular fights to 1 round, not towers. Is this normal or am I experiencing a bug? Made Skull Kabop around 2.5-3 hours… thanks!

    • Still works, but you can only change it to 1 round in Klassic Towers not Towers of Time. Also, apparently Brutalities no longer work for this, so use Fatalities for the heads.

  32. One piece of advice for anyone going for the Intros. Just go to the character towers and let the AI fight for you. They will win every fight for you. Rarely will they lose a round but 99% of the time they will win the fight. You can get a character done in about an hour this way rather than grinding yourself with characters you’re unfamiliar with

  33. Your method for skull kabob is wrong. I’m not sure who you have verifying this but sadly you are mistaken. I have verified that 50 brutalities on the same opponent in Klassic Towers does not work. I spent four + hours verifying this and after about 350 brutalities nothing was given. I went back and did 50 fatalities and it gave the skull as a reward. Please fix this as you are giving bad info and having people waste their time doing brutalities. It’s fatalities only in Klassic Towers.

  34. @Powerpyx I have a tip about the fatalities trophies, as when you have the fatalities tokens you can still perform the second fatality, eventhough you haven´t unlocked it yet.

    And the fatalities Tokens you either get as reward from the towers of time, or by buying them from the MK11 store.

I don’t know if this happened to anyone else but I spent a lot of hours grinding in the towers to get 5 severed heads to get the Skull Kabob/ 5 Victories trophy and I went into the krypt and placed all 5 heads and got a victory for each one and I never got the skull kabob trophy or the trophy for the victories even tho I selected all 5 in Kustomize . Any help?

    • I heard a few people saying that the Krypt-related trophies popped with huge delays like an hour later after exiting the game. I don’t know if there’s a definitive fix, but it might just take more time to pop. Something odd is going on with those Krypt trophies, at least for some players.

  38. @all Well I just got the Skull Kabob trophy, but for me I got Jaquis head after I did 45 fatalities at her and not 50, and once I placed the head in the warrior shrine I got her victory intro, alongside with a skin for her, and gear.

    About the trophy itself it popped up for me with a little delay.

  39. If you get to stage 3 in a character tower it will give a pose victory, just in case survivor tower doesn’t work anymore or you want another option to unlock

    • As for now I just unlocked with one character (skarlet), but I suppose it does, because if you check you can see there’s a victory pose that can be unlocked by towers of time(stage 3 of character power), anyway I’ll try to get to stage 3 with another character and I’ll let you know(if anyone can confirm this can be helpful too)

  41. Consumables only count once on the xbox tracker. So, equipping 3 at once only counts as one.

    Dunno if it was an update, but the AI tears through the character towers if you put all points into kombos and reversal. You can also back out and do the grabs/uppercuts in a klassic tower to progress then go back to the character tower and watch your AI win some more.

  42. @huss0406 What do you mean with stage 3 in the character towers, or in general with stages?, cause all I know is that you unlock character intros for sure after you beat all towers. But it will get expensive afterwards starting with 25k for each character than 50k.

    Oh and about collecting heads for the character victories, I got the head for Kabal earlier after I did 40 fatalities at him, so it seems that you always get a head as reward between 40 and 45.

    And best for doing it, is really the Klassic survivor tower, as I tried it on a locked tower and after I did 6 fatalities at Johnny Cage, the time ran off and the tower disappeared.

    Furthermore I would like to give a little tip, about farming a few coins you can do so by destroying all vase and skeleton at the crypt. And for the hanging bodies trophy, if you can’t find any there is always one at Goros lair, where the Kollector is just spear this one and rinse and repait until you get the trophy.

  43. I updated the guide to account for the latest hotfixes and patches. Within a week the game went from difficult to almost a joke.
    You can now let the AI play Towers of Time for you. I lowered the difficulty to 4/10. You can even buy intros and victories from the in-game shop now with the premium currency. I’d say now the hardest thing is finishing all the tutorials :D

Guys, as of today(4/30) there’s a glitch in the krypt that let’s you get all heads without doing the 50 fatalities, to do so, as soon as you press X to access to the krypt hold that button,go all the way up to a head and that should make to put one, DO NOT release the button until you get to place a head. That’s how I unlocked the rest of the heads and for those who are on their way for the plat, it’s a good opportunity 🙂

There is a way to get 4 trophies on 1 run, the Tower Champion, Master of Time, Have We Met and Victorious using the grind that you provided for Master of Time, but you will end the tower on the second fight and using a fatality on the first fight, repeating that tower 50 times to perform 50 fatalities on the same CPU character, with this you will get a severe head. Repeat this process 10 times to get 10 different heads and 10 impaled heads will open Shao Khan throne room.

    Once you impaled 5 heads you will get the 5 victories for Victorious, and in the throne room you will find chests for 25k with victories and intros, for the Have We Met.

    This is a lot of grinding but is the easier way I see. Also, brutalities do not count. Have to be 50 fatalities on 1 character.

    • From what I read they don’t count towards the 50.

      Also, they lowered the Fatality count to 25 for each characters heads with the most recent patch. I can confirm this, I got Scorpions head after 21 fatalities today and there is no way possible I had more than 4 before I started keeping track. Not to mention I had 30 against Raiden before the patch, got one more this morning, and his head popped up in the results screen.

  54. I actually had to get 25 AI wins before the Puppet Master trophy popped. Went 25 – 2 and lost the 25th match. I had one match where I quit out before finishing though, but I definitely had 25 full match sets completed before winning the 27th one. Trophy popped on the 27th, not sure if it’s the same kind of delay issue like Get Over Here! has or if it requires a win for the last one.

  55. Just commenting as another person confirming the head glitch has been patched on both XB1 and PS4.

    Fortunately, myself and my financee had both done the glitch for all heads before it was patched.

  56. One more thing. On Xbox, all the krypt achievement popped like clockwork, as it has % tracking using the achievement tracking feature.

    On PS4, I can confirm that a few of the accumulative ones are a bit buggy and take an age to unlock. In both the case of 200 Kyrpt chests and 50 bodies, neither unlocked after exceeding those figures. Partner and I figured out that quitting the game, restarting it, loading the Krypt and unlocking one more chest, or spearing one more body, should “unbug” it.

  57. Hello, I have 89 matches in kasual and the trophy hasn’t unlocked. Yes I played them from menu>online > kasual. Trophy is glitched. Kompetitor trophy glitched.

  59. You just may be a much better gamer but i think you overlooked the difficulty of the strategy tutorial. With that trophy the platinum is 9/10 or 10/10 difficulty. These require perfect precise inputs and are ridiculous hard

    • I finally got it. Definitely hard but not as hard as i thought. Main issue was some sections seems broken. I would fail 100 times and then succeed and i swear i did nothing different

  61. The two AI battle trophies can be done offline, i dont have ps plus and totally got the first trophy for 10 AI battle few minutes ago. Another one for 25 AI battles in progress.

  65. PowerPyx, So apparently there is one glitched trophy and it’s skull kabob did it on my first attempt, you impale the head get the loot as usually, but the trophy sadly does not pop up disappointing too, really wanted the plat for this.

    • Some of the Krypt trophies can take a long time to pop. I’ve read reports that it popped after exiting the game (like 30 minutes later). So MAYBE you can still get it, or it stealth-popped. Sync trophies and check if it’s unlocked, sometimes it doesn’t show the unlock sign in top left corner.
      What you can also try is to reinstall the game (delete it and install it again). Delete all save games (Krypt is online anyway and syncs progress). Then get another head and redo the trophy, this could still fix it.

Not sure why the tutorial is so tough its a fun game but is anyone willing to help i even tried with a newer controller tried joysticks helped on like two and in options tried tweaking a few things but i didnt notice a difference..i been trophy hunting since ps3 and this is the first trophy i wanna go loco any tips?or even better shareplay?al send a 10 dollar digital psn card never been so frustrated lmao

  67. These Strategy tutorials are total BS. I follow the button prompt exactly as displayed, nothing. I watch the demo and take note of how it’s supposed to look, and nothing. Hour of repeatedly trying the same one over and over, it finally acknowledges what I’ve been doing in the first place. i just needed to get a refresher and handle of basic mechanics, not train for a damn professional tournament, or try to learn stuff I know I’ll never be able to pull off in a real fight.

  70. I think it’s worth looking into Kompetitor trophy being glitched. I’m currently on 59 Kasual matches and no trophy! Having done a quick google I see a lot of people having same issue even after doing the close app restart thing to try and get them to pop. Some people say it worked for them but others on 100+ matches and still no trophy..Anyone else had an issue? Only trophy I need ?

  73. Does the Victorious trophy still work with the endless tower and AI playing instead of you? It’s true they finish the match faster but I’ve gone 4 times in a row without scorpion doing a fatality and man just seems like it takes forever.

  80. FYI to anyone who is doing the Teamwork trophy post Team Raids release. It HAS to be a Group Battle and not the newer, more recent Team Raid fights. Luckily the Ko Op towers seems to always have one tower that has a Group Battle besides the Team Raid tower.

  82. Going for the victories.. The guide says 25 fatalities on the same character by exiting tower on match two of endless to repeat against the same character. I have about 28 fatalities against Shang Tsung, but it’s not popping. Can anyone confirm if this still works? Does it have to be the same player character against the tower character? I switched between Scorpion AI and Sonya AI a bit.

  83. Ai is doing maybe a fatality once in ten matches.

    1/10, I vot the 125 towers before I got my first head.

    1.5 ours per head sounds like a dream unless I do it 100% manually.
