Civic Duty is a side task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Civic Duty side task.
- Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Kuttenberg City
- Quest Giver: Bailiff Andreas Plumel
- Requirement: Started side quest Feast for the Poor
- Reward: 30 x Groschen (per piece of information you give to the Bailiff), 150 x Groschen (for completing the task)
- Quest Type: Task
- Questline: Feast for the Poor > (Civic Duty) > The Thieves Code > (Beyond the Grave > The German’s Treasure) > The Spark
- Quest Description: To follow the law, or break it?
Objectives:
- Report the guild to the bailiff
- Keep the bailiff informed of what the Guild is up to (Optional)
Starting Location: Civic Duty
NOTE: Civic Duty & The Spark are mutually exclusive. Doing one task voids the other. For the sake of completion and trophies/achievements we recommend doing The Spark and skipping Civity Duty entirely. It doesn’t interfere with the trophy for completing most of the game’s content.
To start this task you need to have started the guild questline by starting side quest Feast for the Poor. You can then go to Bailiff Andreas Plumel and report the guild, which starts this task. During the day he can typically be found in the upstairs room of the town hall, the same building where the Scribe is located. You can skip time in 1-hour increments until he appears.
If you have already completed The Spark this task is no longer available, as the guild is effectively disbanded regardless of the outcome of that quest.
Report the guild to the bailiff
After reporting the guild, you’ll fill the bailiff in on all events you have been involved in regarding the side quests Feast for the Poor and The Spark, and the tasks The Thieves’ Code, Beyond the Grave, and The German’s Treasure. You’ll get 30 Groschen per piece of information you bring him.
Keep the bailiff informed of what the Guild is up to (Optional)
You can then keep informing the bailiff about any new events you are involved in related to the above quests.
The final time that you can inform without preventing other progression is before completing the Bring the barrel to the guildsmen near the mine step in The Spark. This doesn’t prevent you from finishing out The Spark now, but if you want to finish this task then you won’t be able to follow through with blowing up the mine.
The way to fully complete this task is to complete The Spark up until the point you bring the barrel to the guildsmen near the mine. Wait with them until nightfall, then instead of going in to blow up the mine run out of the area which fails The Spark. Do not fail the quest by killing anyone, as the bailiff will get mad and fail this task. You can still earn the trophy/achievement Remember, remember… at this point as with the quest failed you can throw the barrel into the fire.
You can then return to the bailiff and let him know you stopped the mine from being blown up, receiving your final reward and completing the task.
This finishes Civic Duty side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
