Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Rosa’s Book Walkthrough

February 3, 2025 by PowerPyx Leave a Comment

Rosa’s Book is a task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Rosa’s Book side task.

  • Starting Location: Kuttenberg
  • Quest Giver: Rosa Ruthard
  • Requirement: Automatically started during Main Quest 18: Taking French Leave (unmissable).
  • Reward: trophy Tales of Kuttenberg trophy/achievement
  • Quest Type: Task
  • Quest Description: Rosa needs your help to get back her book. You must find it while rescuing Sir Hans from Maleshov Fortress.

Objectives:

  1. Get the book that Lady Rosa asked you for
  2. Tell Lady Rosa how you got on in Maleshov
  3. Help Lady Rosa finish her book

Starting Location: Rosa’s Book

Rosa’s Book starts automatically during Main Quest 18: Taking French Leave, can’t miss it. During the main objective to talk to Rosa, agree to bring her the book that’s in Maleshov Fortress. You can say the following:

“A wayside shrine?” > “A clever solution” > “There must be a catch to it” > “Come with me!” > “You wouldn’t be a burden” > “I’m listening” > “I’ll bring the book, fear not!”.

[MISSABLE] Get the book that Lady Rosa asked you for

MISSABLE: This objective can only be done during Main Quest 18: Taking French Leave – Objective: Find Hans Capon. During this you will be inside Maleshov fortress. If you don’t get the book before exiting Maleshov Fortress, the objective will fail. Follow the walkthrough for Main Quest 18: Taking French Leave until you get to objective “Find Hans Capon”. Then continue below.

Once you’re at the “Find Hans Capon” objective in Maleshov Fortress: start by going downstairs and enter the hut in the southwest corner. Inside, choke out Cook Drahomira, loot all keys from her: Door and chest keys, Maleshov chambers key, Maleshov fortress key, Maleshov tower key. This allows us to get into the tower quietly without lockpicking.

The only way into the tower is through the door on the east side, up the wooden stairs. Sneak along the south wall to get there unnoticed:

If a guard is watching the stairs, throw a stone to distract him (crouch and :r1: / :rb: ). We can open the door with the keys we looted from the cook.

Enter and go upstairs. There will be two guards arguing with a woman. Wait for them to finish talking, then hide in the hallway downstairs. The guards will walk down and sit in the back room. Now you can go upstairs unnoticed. Enter the left door to a room where the woman sits.

Book Location: Choke out the woman (Lady Ofka) with :l2: / :lt: . In the same room at the window collect the red book “A book of humourous anecdotes“. This is the book you need to bring to Rosa. If you don’t do it during this main quest the objective will fail after leaving the fortress.

In the same room, pick up the two swords in the corner. You need to give these to Hans and another prisoner later for the main quest.

Now head to the top floor, open the left door with the Maleshov tower key you got from the cook. A cutscene will play where you rescue Hans and another prisoner Vauquelin Brabant. You must then escort them to the stables and open the front gate to escape the fortress. Continue with Main Quest 18: Taking French Leave, afterward you can return the book to Rosa.

Tell Lady Rosa how you got on in Maleshov

After completing Main Quest 18: Taking French Leave, return to Rosa at the Ruthard’s Palace in Kuttenberg, where the quest started. Give her the book.

You’ll want to agree to finish writing the book with her. The following dialogues work:

“About that book you wanted…” > “I perused it” > “The author really isn’t holding back” > “I would like that” > “My pleasure”.

You then escort her upstairs to her room where you can decide how to finish the book.

Help Lady Rosa finish her book

You can pick any dialogue you want to finish the book. The following will work:

“A woman” > “She should be clever” > “Dumb girls are boring” > “Are you always so confrontational?” > “Good intent”.

Then interact with the book, browse through all pages. Talk to Rosa again:

“If only there were more such books” > “It’s pretty, really” > “I’d like to get to know you better sometime”.

This finishes the quest and unlocks trophy Tales of Kuttenberg trophy/achievement you helped Rosa finish her book).
