There are 169 World Intel Locations (Regional Data) in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Finding all of the World Intel Collectibles is needed for the Materia Completionist trophy (develop all possible materia with Chadley). Each World Intel gives you 10 Regional Data Points, which can be traded at Chadley for Materia. You must also develop all duplicate copies of all Materia to unlock the trophy, which requires 100% World Intel completion in all regions to get enough Data Points.
Finding all World Intel is required for the following Trophies:
- Materia Completionist – Develop all possible materia together with Chadley.
- Moogle Lover – Max out your moogle emporium merchant rank.
- Intelligence Aide – Gather world intel at five separate locations.
- Intelligence Specialist – Gather world intel at fifty separate locations.
- Director of Regional Intelligence – Gather all pieces of world intel in a region.
- Founder’s Bonus – Obtain a protorelic in the grasslands.
- Fort Condor Commander – Obtain a protorelic in the Junon region.
- Cactuar Crusher – Obtain a protorelic in the Corel region.
- Honorary Turk – Obtain a protorelic in the Gongaga region.
- The Gambit Paid Off – Obtain a protorelic in the Cosmo Canyon region.
- Professional Handler – Obtain a protorelic in the Nibel region.
- Bladesman of Legend – Defeat Gilgamesh.
None of the World Intel is missable. You can still find all of them via Chapter Select, which is unlocked after the story. If collecting via Chapter Select it’s best to do everything in Chapter 13 because you have access to the full open world at this point. If collecting via Chapter Select it adds all findings to your profile save, so even if you jump to an earlier chapter and then jump back to a later chapter it will count anything you collected without resetting progress.
World Intel is first unlocked in Chapter 2 as part of the story. The best approach in every region is to get the Activation Intel (Remnawave Towers) first. This will mark all other intel on the map. However, the tricky part is usually reaching the intel as some maps can be hard to navigate, and some include special minigames or challenges.
There are 7 regions total: Grasslands, Junon, Corel, Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, Nibel, Meridian Ocean. You visit all regions automatically as part of the story by the time you reach Chapter 13.
There are 9 types of intel: Activation Intel are towers that mark all other intel. Chocobo Intel are for catching Chocobo, usually as part of side quests. Fiend Intel are combat challenges against enemies. Divine Intel are crystals in caves that require inputting button combos.
