Gold is a rare neutral element, commodity and crafting material in No Man’s Sky. It is used to craft valuable alloys and can be sold for a lot of money. One of the best elements for quick cash. When you find a planet with a lot of gold you should take advantage of it. Stack up on gold, sell it at the nearest space station and return to farm some more. It’s one of the best money-making strategies.

- Can be mined from large gold rocks using the Multi-Tool. Doesn’t exist on every planet.
- Can be mined from green crystals on planets (sometimes they contain another neutral element instead). Crystals often spawn in caves.
