In search of the Lotus and his ship, Bayek travels to Swenett, south of Thebes. He hopes to get some information from the villages Scribe. Looks like he is missing because no one saw him in a whole day.
Atut, the man we spoke to above, has a tip of his potential whereabouts. Bayek arrives there shortly after, but only finds our man dead, most likely ambushed by the soldiers from a nearby camp.
There are about five thugs not too far away and they do have the ships’ manifest we’re looking for. Take them out and give it a read.
The manifest reveals the location of the ship. Bayek hopes it is still there and hasn’t sailed away by now. As expected, the odds are in our favor and the ship is still there.
There isn’t anyone on the ship to tell us what happened, so Bayek investigates the massacre which took place by himself. The most important clue is a trail of blood which points towards the water. There is also a trail of blood in the water itself, which tells us the way to go next.
At the shore, there are a few people around and a light-dressed man will tell us that one man from the ship swam ashore and stole his horse. He mentions that the thief had red hair. Could that be..?
Yep, of course. Sutekh, who else?
He will tell us what happened on the ship. Soldiers boarded it in the search of Merti, the woman we met at the very start of this DLC. She wasn’t even on the ship, but the soldiers killed everyone they could find. Sutekh was hiding and he was the one who threw corpses overboard to lure the crocodiles and he could make it to the shore.
He’ll reveal Merti’s whereabouts and this is where we will be headed next.
Once we arrive we notice that Merti is still sought after and we have to get rid of the soldiers around her villa to be able to talk to her. Use the height of the surroundings to your advantage and try to pick off as many guards with your bow before going to the mansion itself.
Once the coast is clear, we can enter the house and talk to Merti, who seemed to know many important details from the very beginning and kept them from us.
She is willing to let us read a papyrus she bought from an Antiquarian at the Necropolis of the Nobles.
Picking up on the new intel, we make our way over there. Strangely, we will come across Tahemet, the unlucky gambler we met earlier, who is arguing with the priestess Isidora.
Once the priestess walks off, we can talk to Tahemet. She made some more questionable life choices and had the choice between prison and helping soldiers catalogizing the nearby tombs.
She saw some carvings on walls inside the Necropolis which should be of interest to us.
Time to enter the Necropolis and see for ourselves. There are roughly ten soldiers around, but because they mostly are on their own in these smaller rooms and corridors, so it is very doable to get rid of mosty of them before a big fights breaks out.
There is a total of four carvings on the walls, which Bayek has to find.
They do reveal some interesting facts, which determine our next targets and moves.
Finishing this quest will update the central quest The Curse of the Pharaohs with a new objective.
