This guide explains the best weapons in Armored Core VI. These weapons are easy to use and have the best damage per second. They allow you to brute-force all bosses in the game.
For best builds with Frame Parts and Inner Parts refer to Best Builds Guide.
Best Hand Weapons
The best hand weapons are dual-wielded DF-GA-08 HU-BEN. They are the Gatling Guns. Use them on the left and right arm. They can be bought in the shop for 170,000 COAM, after completing Chapter 1 (after Mission 11: Attack the Watchpoint). At first glance their “Attack Power” seems very low, but don’t be fooled by this. This measures the damage per bullet but the miniguns shoot very fast and they never need to reload. They can overheat but can output a ton of damage before this happens, and they cool down automatically. You can hold down the trigger to shoot them and don’t need to tap the button constantly, making this weapon relatively easy to handle.
This weapon performs best at very close range. Even on enemies that deflect bullets, it will stagger them fast and deals insane damage during the stagger phase. The time it takes to overheat is roughly equal to a full stagger phase. Use the shoulder weapons outlined below to stagger enemies fast, then get up close with the Gatling Guns. Also, if using a heavy tank build (which is recommended for more health & defense stats), you will want to hover over enemies with / instead of driving. This makes tank builds easier to control than driving on the ground, and allows you to stay close to enemies.
Best Shoulder Weapons
Chapter 1: VP-60LCS (Laser Cannon)
Bought in Shop for 147,000 COAM after completing Chapter 1: Missions 6 & 7. These weapons are perfect for staggering enemies but also deal damage fast. Unlike missile launchers, these weapons can be shot repeatedly in quick succession without reloading. They will overheat after a few shots, but it’s enough to stagger enemies and then get up close with hand weapons (ideally the dual-wielded Gatling Guns) to deal massive damage.
Chapter 2: SONGBIRDS
Bought in Shop for 182,000 COAM, unlocks after completing Mission 11: Attack the Watchpoint (end of Chapter 1). These are heavy Grenade Cannons that deal massive Impact Damage to stagger enemies fast. What makes them even better than the Laser Cannon is the splash damage. Hover over enemies in the air and shoot it at the ground, even if the enemy evades it will catch them in the splash damage. For bosses it’s perfect to stagger them fast and then follow up with Gatling Guns from close range.
Chapter 3: VE-60SNA (Stun Needle Launcher)
Reward for completing Mission 26: Historic Data Recovery (additional one can be bought in shop for 283,000 COAM after Mission 27: Destroy the Ice Worm). After this point this should be your default shoulder weapon for the rest of the game. It creates an electric discharge that will catch enemies even if the evade (hover above them and shoot at ground). A direct hit also deals more damage from the SONGBIRDS, especially during stagger phases. It also shoots faster, making it easier to handle. With this you will stagger enemies even faster and deal more damage during the stagger phase, thus reducing the time to defeat bosses.
New Game+ Chapter 4: VE.60LCA (Laser Cannon)
This insanely powerful weapon can be purchased from the shop for 333,000 COAM after completing Mission Mission 27: Destroy the Ice Worm in NEW GAME+ (2nd playthrough). The downside is that it has very limited ammo supplies, but the damage output of it is ridiculous. It shoots 3 powerful lasers (basically 3 VP-60LCS shoulder cannons mentioned above) at once. If you put two of these on the shoulders it’s like shooting 6 laser cannons at once. And they can be shot repeatedly in quick succession without reloading! This will stagger bosses instantly, then follow up with Gatling Gun and keep shooting with these powerful lasers. You can kill bosses in a few seconds with this. But for S-Ranks their ammo cost per shot and the low ammo amount make them prohibitive. Still, this is the best damage-per-second weapon in the game.
