Armored Core 6 (VI) Ice Worm Boss Guide

Ice Worm is a main boss in Armored Core VI during Main Mission 27: Destroy the Ice Worm. This is the Chapter 3 Endboss.

Having the Shoulder Weapon “VE-60SNA” (Needle Gun) is essential. This will break the Ice Worm’s shield in 1 hit. You get it automatically before this mission. It’s all a matter of having the right build and strategy.

Ice Worm Boss Build

All of the required parts are available by the time you reach this boss. If you don’t have these parts unlocked, quit out and farm “Mission 6: Attack the Dam” for money. This mission gives around 170,000 COAM and only takes 90 seconds. You can also sell existing parts at the same price you bought them. Having the Shoulder Weapon “VE-60SNA” is essential, it destroys the Worm’s shield in one hit. Recreate this exact build:

• R-Arm: DF-GA-08 HU-BEN – Shop: 170,000 COAM – Purchaseable after completing Mission 11: Attack the Watchpoint
• L.Arm: DF-GA-08 HU-BEN – Shop: 170,000 COAM – Purchaseable after completing Mission 11: Attack the Watchpoint
• R-Back: VE-60SNA – Reward for completing Mission 26: Historic Data Recovery.
• L-Back: SONGBIRDS – Shop: 182,000 COAM – Purchaseable after completing Mission 11: Attack the Watchpoint
• Head: Whatever has the highest AP rating
• Core: DF-BD-08 TIAN-QIANG – Shop: 390,000 COAM – Purchaseable when shop is first available after Mission 2: Destroy Artillery Installations
• Arms: Whatever has the highest AP rating and sufficient carry capacity
• Legs: LG-022T BORNEMISSZA – Shop: 280,000 COAM – Purchaseable after completing Mission 8: Operation Wallclimber.
• Booster: Nothing (auto-equipped with Tank Legs)
• FCS: FCS-G2/P05 – Shop: 67,000 COAM – Purchaseable after completing Mission 8: Operation Wallclimber.
• Generator: VP-20S – Obtained after completing training mission Intermediate Support 1: Assembling an AC
• Expansion: Terminal Armor – bought from AC Tuning Menu

Ice Worm Boss Easy Strategy

Wait for the Ice Worm to slow down and show its face. Then fire the Needle Gun Shoulder Weapon “VE-60SNA”. It will destroy his shield in one hit. Then a big laser will be shot by your team that will knock down the worm. Quickly rush in to attack it. Repeat the same thing in the second phase. In the third phase some of your teammates get destroyed and the Worm is more aggressive and makes big blasts of red Coral Energy. Get away when he looks up in the sky and charges the red energy. Keep moving and wait for an opening to hit his face with the Needle Gun again. In the third phase he takes 2 hits from the Needle Gun to go down. Then again quickly rush in and shoot him up. Dual-Wielding Gatling Guns is great, they deal enough damage to defeat him in one stagger phase. Also shoot your other shoulder weapons when he’s down, the Needle Gun and Songbird shoulder weapons deal very good damage in combination with Gatling Guns.

Playing as a Heavy Tank Build is great here to have more health and stay alive for longer.
