Mysterious Ways is the 10th main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance (KCD). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives and paths of the Mysterious Ways Main Quest. There are two paths in this quest, gaining the priests trust or not drinking with the priest and having to find info on Lubosh by yourself.
Mysterious Ways triggers automatically after completing Ginger in a Pickle Main Quest.
Find the Neuhof Bandit in Uzhitz / Find out where the limping Bandit lives
Head to Uzhitz, the town north-east of Talmberg (in the far north-east corner of the map). There you can find people scattered around a house – talk to them and watch the cutscene.
Find out more about Limpy Lubosh
Ask the Bailiff (the guy at the crime scene) all possible questions and also talk to the people scattered around the house. The bystanders will tell you that the Priest may have more info.
Talk to the Priest
The priest is at the church in the north of Uzhitz. Go talk to him, he will be marked on the map. It is pretty much impossible to win the special dialogue choices here, so don’t worry if he doesn’t give you an answer, that’s the normal outcome. The priest won’t give up info but invites you to the Tavern in the evening.
Meet the Parish Priest in the Tavern in the Evening
The tavern is just next to the church. Skip time till the evening (press Touchpad on PS4 to wait or sleep in a bed). Wait until 23:00 (11PM). Then go inside the tavern and sit down with the priest.
For the timed-responses you should always pick the first option. Be honest and transparent with the priest to gain his trust. What matters most is the last line of dialogue. He asks whether you want to drink with him and you can say “I’d say that’s a good plan” or “I’m not in the mood for boozing”.
This is a defining moment in the story! If you want the “Virgin” trophy/achievement for beating the game without losing your virginity you MUST choose the second option that you’re not in the mood for boozing. If you want the “Sinner” trophy/achievement you must pick the first option to drink with him. I recommend you get the Sinner trophy and then reload the last save game to continue on the other path. Depending on your choice the quest will go different paths:
- I’d say that’s a good plan: You will get drunk with the priest and he will get you a girl for the night to show you a good time. In the morning he wants you to do the morning prayers for his flock in the church. Depending on your choices you can succeed or fail. If you succeed the priest gives you the info you want, otherwise the quest continues on.
- Dialogue #1: Begin the Sermon confidently
- Dialogue #2: We are commanded to reject dissolute priests
- Dialogue #3: Continue Harshly
- Dialogue #4: To sin is human
- Dialogue #5: Continue harshly
- Dialogue #6: Try some quote to conclude
- If you do all of this correctly the quest will end and the next main quest “On the Scent” begins.
- I’m not in the mood for boozing: In this scenario you will not gain the priests trust and he won’t offer any info. Finding out more about Lubosh without the priest’s help is slightly harder. The bailiff is the person you need to talk to, he will help you out.
- Go see the bailiff of Uzhitz. The problem is he’s never in one spot and walks around. He usually stays at the Scribe (who is just near the church and marked on the map as a question mark — you can stand there and advance time by 1 hour until he shows up). The bailiff is the guy you talked to earlier at the scene of the murder, in the golden shirt. The easiest option to draw him out is to commit a crime, preferably trespassing as it’s the cheapest to pay off, then surrender to him and pay off the crime. Talk to him afterwards to get the info on Lubosh from him. Below is his possible location (in the picture he’s the guy on the left).
- After getting the info from him the quest continues, see the steps below.

Talk to the Rattay Scribe
Head to Rattay. Talk to the scribe who lives in the building above the armorer.
Get embrocation for the Rattay scribe’s aching joints
The Rattay Scribe wants you to get embrocation medicine for him. This can be bought from the apothecary downstairs. It’s in the same building as the Scribe’s home, just on the ground floor facing the street (also marked on the map). The embrocation costs around 42 Groschen but you can haggle it down to 38 or so. I highly recommend you buy it and do not steal it. Stealing it will create a whole bunch of trouble that’s not worth it.
Alternatively, if you are super good at lockpicking, you can skip this step and lockpick the door in the Rattay Scribe’s room (Very Hard difficulty). It’s extremely hard to do, spending 42 Groschen on the embrocation is the easiest way. Also, if you lockpick the door you must have the reading skill unlock to read the book. So if you don’t have a high enough reading skill don’t even think about it.
Look through the Rattay Black Chronicle for any record of Lubosh
Bring back the medicine to the Scribe. He will now open the locked door and bring you to the Black Chronicle that contains records of Lubosh. If you haven’t learned how to read don’t worry. Just tell him you can’t read and he’ll do it or you. Give him a minute to finish reading and talk to him again. He will give you all the info on Lubosh.
This finishes the Mysterious Ways quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance. The next main quest “On the Scent” will start immediately.

BE CAREFULL! It is possible to miss Completionist trophy here. In my case I won dialogue with priest and he told me the information. So I missed the part with “tavern quest” and realized it after more than 20 hours of gameplay. Powerpyx you should edit your guide, because with high speech skill it is easy to miss the “booze” quest and fail road to platinum in 1 playthrough!

I think it will still count as a completed main quest, won’t it? Skipping steps in a quest because of answer options given by the game probably is intended. The „tavern quest“ and „booze quest“ you are talking about are objectives, aren’t they?

Can you be more specific? Is the actual name of the side quest “booze”? Do you only unlock it if you don’t drink with the priest? Is it past if the main quest “ Misterious ways?

Bailiff actually sleeps in one of the scribes rooms and pretty easy to find.
He wakes up at 7am and will be sitting in the kitchen.
