Zelda Tears of the Kingdom - Camera Work in the Depths Walkthrough

Camera Work in the Depths is a Main Quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Camera Work in the Depths story mission.

Requirement: Started Main Quest: Regional Phenomena.
Reward: Unlocks Camera Feature for Purah Pad, unlocks Hyrule Compendium, 5 Zonaite
Quest Info: Josha showed you an image of a figure on a piece of slate from the Depths. She thinks it’s evidence of people that once lived there. Robbie said he’d go to the Depths to find her anything that shows another such figure. He wants you there to take a picture of it with the Purah Pad’s camera, if necessary. Join him at the chasm south of Lookout Landing.

Starting Location: Camera Work in the Depths

This quest is given to you by Josha & Robbie in Lookout Landing (town in Central Hyrule region). Talk to them at the north gate of Lookout Landing, after having started Main Quest: Regional Phenomena.

Meet Robbie in the Depths

From Lookout Landing, head south to the quest marker. It’s marked on the map. There you will find a big red hole in the ground (Jiosin Shrine is also here). You must jump down the hole and open your paraglider before hitting the ground to avoid taking damage.

Land near the campfire and talk to the man standing there. He will point you in the direction Robbie went. Go in the direction where this man is looking, you will see a glowing mushroom-like structure a few meters/yards away. Interact with it, these are called Lightroots and light up the surrounding area. They also unlock permanent fast travel points.

Now keep following the trail of campfires that Robbie left behind, to the west. Avoid the red gloom on the floor, it will temporarily reduce your maximum health but it can be restored by interacting with a Lightroot. Head to the next Lighroot directly west of the first one. Interact with it to light up the area.

You find Robbie standing next to this Lightroot at the campfire. Talk to him.

He unlocks two new features: The Camera – which you can select from the abilities wheel, and the Hyrule Compendium, which you can see in the menu and it tracks all types of creatures, enemies, materials, equipment, treasures.

Stand next to Robbie and press and put the right stick on the camera icon. Get the statue in frame and press to take the picture. Click “OK” to save to album.

Return to Josha & Robbie in Lookout Landing

Return to the quest givers where the quest started. You can fast travel to Lookout Landing Skyview Tower to get there instantly. After talking to them you get 5 Zonaite as a reward and the quest will complete.
