The Rav-ages of Caustic-X is a Side Quest in Dead Island 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Rav-ages of Caustic-X side mission.

Requirement: Having Finished Main Quest #9: Michael Anders and the Holy Grail
Reward: 2,500 XP Rare Melee Liquidator Mod Caustic-X Bomb
Mission Info: Hana is a college student at VLCA (go Bobcats) and fellow survivor of the zompocalypse. You answered her call for help. She asked you to track down her fellow Bobcat Rav, who is presumed to be at Halperin Hotel.
Objectives:
- Find your way back to Halperin Hotel
- Look for “Rav” at the Halperin Hotel
- Look for Rav in the hotel’s ballroom
- Talk to Rav in the ballroom
- Look for an ambulance in the hotel parking lots
- Search around the ambulance: did it transport “stuff to fuck up the zombies”?
- Meet Rav back in the ballroom
- Go back to the ballroom to drop the beat and cause a distraction
- Drop the beat to kick off the distraction Rav needs!
- Brawl in the ballroom to keep zombies focused on you and buy Rav some time!
- Update Rav on how things are going
- Head to the Halperin swimming pool and get ready to melt some zombies
- Experiment poolside with fun new casutic ways to kill zombies
- Return back inside in triumph and meet Rav in the ballroom
Starting Location: The Rav-ages of Caustic-X
This side quest triggers automatically after Main Quest #9: Michael Anders and the Holy Grail, on your way out of Monarch Studios.
Find your way back to Halperin Hotel
Follow the objective marker and fast travel back to Beverley Hills once prompted. If you are following this side quest as soon as you receive it and haven’t started the main quest ‘Justifiable Zombicide’ you need to unlock the secured area to allow access through into the main part of Bel-Air so you can get to the fast travel point.
Once you have done this, you then need to go to the Halperin Hotel district. You can follow the quest markers (make sure you track the quest). You will need to go from Beverly Hills to Bel-Air and from there to Halperin Hotel. There is no need to fight zombies here if you don’t want to as you should have access to all doors/gates by this point. The images below show where the objective markers takes you through each area to get to Halperin Hotel.
Look for “Rav” in the Halperin Hotel
Once you are at the district entrance, turn left and run all the way to the hotel until you come to a hole in the fence you crawl under. JThere will be some radio dialogue that prompts you to look for Rav in the hotel ballroom.
Look for Rav in the hotel’s ballroom
Follow the objective and fight your way through the zombies you encounter as there will be a few in this area. Once this is done, look for Rav who will be hiding on a balcony above the entrance of the ballroom.
Talk to Rav in the ballroom
Talk to Rav and follow the dialogue and wait for the next objective.
Look for an ambulance in the hotel parking lots
Now, you need to head straight back outside and back to the way you came in. You can fight or run past zombies as you wish and find the ambulance in the parking lots outside. Head under the hole in the fence which you had to go under previously and the ambulance is just around to the right of it.
Search around the ambulance: did it transport “stuff to fuck up the zombies”
Be careful here, there are a few zombies to fight of which two are stronger zombies. One is a Crusher and the other is a Slobber. You need to collect a note on a container called ‘Caustic-X Shipment Receipt’ once you have this you need to return to Rav.
Meet Rav back in the ballroom
Listen to Rav’s dialogue as you head back to the ballroom.
Go back to the ballroom to drop the beat and cause a distraction
Once in the ballroom, head to stage opposite the entrance and interact with the podium to start the music. Be prepared to battle. There are fuel and water cans in here as well as car batteries that will help fend off zombies as you fight. Use them to your advantage.
Brawl in the ballroom to keep zombies focused on you to buy Rav some time!
Now you have to fight around 10-15 zombies. Use environmental hazards to help here and hold them off until the objective is met.
Update Rav on how things are going
This is just dialogue between you and Rav and will complete quickly.
Head to the Halperin swimming pool and get ready to melt some zombies
Head out of the ballroom and to the right and follow the marker outside and head down to the swimming pool. The stairs to the pool are on the right side as you head outside of the building.
Experiment poolside with fun new caustic ways to kill zombies [0/14]
For this objective you basically have to kill 14 zombies using the acid that is present in the area. The easiest way is to lure zombies together by having them follow you or use your Curveball – Meat Bait (throw by pressing 
/ 
and then proceed to drop kick them into the swimming pool). Also press 
to kick them into hte pool. This should complete pretty quickly. Once done, head back to Rav in the hotel.
Return back inside in triumph and meet Rav in the ballroom
When you have successfully returned to the ballroom, Rav is above you as you enter. Turn around and interact with him when prompted to speak with him. Once the dialogue has ended, the quest ends and you will be rewarded with 2,500 XP Rare Melee Liquidator Mod Caustic-X Bomb.
