The Setting Sun is a Main Quest in Assassin’s Creed Origins – The Hidden Ones DLC. This walkthrough shows how to complete the quest.
Recommended Level: 43
Region: Arsinoe Nome
Requirement: having finished The Land of Turquoise
Reward: 15.000 XP
Trophy: 1/3 missions for Surgical Strikes
Objectives:
- Find and Speak to the Contact
- Infiltrate the Pyramid of Amenmesse
- Reach Gamilat
- Escape the Pyramid with Gamilat
- Kill All the Bandits
- Speak with Gamilat
- Find and Assassinate Ptahmose
If you are not in the area yet, fast-travel to Arsinoe and use trusty Senu with to get an exact location on Gamilat. He will be on the western side of the pyramid which currently is being deconstructed. Gamilat will explain the current situation and is sure to have found the location of Ptahmose, one of the three lieutenants of Rufio.
To enter the inside of the pyramid, Bayek and Gamilat have to fight off about five guards – nothing too heavy. A short while after entering, Gamilat will fall down a shaft into water. We have to jump down as well to help him out again. Bayek has to solve two platform-puzzles to help Gamilat reach heights he wouldn’t be able to climb himself.
Entering the first room with two moving platforms, we have to climb up the wall to the left and drop on that platform, to lower it down. Gamilat will then come onto the platform and wait for us to find a solution. Luckily, there are three heavy reels with rope which can be carried onto the platform to the right. With these and our own weight, it will be enough for Gamilat to reach to the upper platform.
Now Bayek can climb to the top of the left side again and proceed together with Gamilat. After fighting through a corridor with snakes, our two protagonists will face another short platform-puzzle.
Wait for Gamilat to stand on the platform on the lower level and drag the shelf off to the left then. Climb up one story and you can find another one of these shelves hidden behind a smashable wall. Drag it out and onto the platform, as can be seen below. This will lift our fellow fighter up.
A little further along the way we have to get rid of some bandits before we are able to escape from our unfortunate detour.
After this short encounter, our ways will split, as Bayek decides to take out Ptahmose on his own. His whereabouts should be at the docks not too far away from where we actually started. Fast-travel back to Arsinoe and once again make use of Senu with to get the exact location of our next target. He will be surrounded by a lot of guards, so staying completely stealthy is quite hard, as someone will always find a body and fighting through them at some point seems inevitable. Try to thin out their numbers before that and disable the beacon to stop reinforcements.
At some point, you will eventually have him in your crosshairs or at the end of your blade.
Once the whole perimeter is cleared, approach the body and confirm your kill to end this quest.
