This page contains all Crafting Material Locations in God of War Ragnarok. There are many Resources / Crafting Materials in GOW Ragnarok. Some are dropped by only specific enemies, others are found in red chests, and yet others are restricted to one specific region. This material list is structured alphabetically.
Materials are used for crafting Gear Upgrades. Higher Level upgrades require rarer materials. If you forgot to pick up materials dropped by enemies they will always be placed in the blue chest at the blacksmith and can be retrieved from there. This means nothing is missable.
You can view your full list of resources under Codex > Resources > All. When in the crafting menu at the blacksmith it will show which materials you need for the next upgrade. Most materials will come from opening red chests and farming the Muspelheim Trials repeatedly, each trials has a fixed reward of high-grade materials.
You will find almost all materials when finishing the story, side quests, and 100% game completion (find all collectibles). To fully upgrade one armor set you should get enough materials automatically from 100% completion. For 100% game completion refer to the God of War Ragnarok Collectible Guide.

- One is dropped by Phantom boss in Epic Hunt: Nocturnal Predator.
- One is dropped by Soul Eater boss in Epic Hunt: In Plain Sight.
- One is dropped by The Untamed Fury, first two encounters are in The Sinkholes, third encounter in The Plains, fourth encounter in The Jungle, fifth encounter also in The Jungle in the area behind the Mystic Gateway where you can crouch to.

Finished the game and beast scraps are not dropping for me anymore, I am killing small beasts in vanheim and even tried with high luck stat, but no drops. I do get beast bones from the big beasts but no beast scraps from the small ones, any ideas?

I have opened all the chests and don’t have enough to upgrade all my axe handles
It sucks when the game don’t let you upgrade everything. It does well to not be a pure RNG type of loot game, but never enough to max your character out when you finish the campaign.
