Find Skoll and Hati
Through this quest, you’ll be backtracking through a decent section of the forest of Vanaheim. Following the path from the start and you’ll end up in the area where you fought this Forest Ancient last time. This time you’ll run into a Fierce Stalker which you’ll need to deal with before continuing.
When it and the Wisps are dealt with, head through the hole in the building and take the path to the opposite side. On this side there will be a couple of Nokken you need to deal with before you can start clearing the other enemies.
Before continuing through the hole to progress, you can now get on top of the structure to get the Legendary Chest. Throw a spear at the spot on the wall, which allows you to climb up.
Go to the other side of the platform where you can jump to the wall, shimmying over to where the chest is so that you can obtain Leviathan’s Roar (Axe Heavy Runic Attack).
Climb back across and head through the path in the tree to continue further.
Keep following the path ahead, and you’ll reach a spot where the path left you originally took is now blocked. Break through the wall on the right side instead to continue.
Kill the plant just ahead so that it’s not shooting at you, then turn around and look directly up to where you can find a Raven sitting in a tree.
You can then check the path to the right, where there is a Materials Chest behind some vines which contains 2 x Asgardian Ingot and 10 x Dwarven Steel.
Keep following the path, then take the left path first. You can find the Lore Scroll “The Aesir Promise” sitting just to the right.
Keep moving ahead and you can find a Nornir Chest of the spinning switch variety. For the first switch, look left on the stairs (while moving towards the chest) and you can spot it covered in brambles. Spin it once to the left.
For the next one move towards the chest and you can see it just to the left outside the structure. Spin it once to the right.
For the last one, head out the path left of the chest. To get to the switch, you’ll first need to deal with the Wulver that’s sitting at the end of the path that attacks when you get near. Once it’s dealt with you can walk to the end of the path and look across to the domed structure where the final spinner is inside. Spin it once to the right and the chest should now be open for you.
Hend back and keep following the path to find Skoll and Hati.
Recover the stolen moon
Follow the path out the other side of the den and continue further into the forest. Past the two toxic plants you’ll run into your first Einherjar, who are blocking a wooden barrier you can pull open with your Blades.
In the corner on the left, you can find the Rune Read “Verdant”, then climb out of the building on the far side to continue.
Head left out of the hut. To continue you need to climb the path to the right, but you can first walk around the path to the left to find a Materials Chest containing 1 x Dwarven Steel.
Interact with the zipline to through it over, then use your spear on the wall to break through into the next room.
Make your way over to the other side of the room, and you will be attacked by Einherjar before you’re able to collect the moon from the lower level. Deal with all of the ones that appear, then interact with the chain on the upper level to drop down to the platform with the moon.
Pursue the Einherjar Thief
Follow the thief out of the room, going through the new hole made in the wall. After defeating a couple of enemies in your way go into the building and then immediately left and you can spot a Raven sitting in another tree. You can also then throw your spear at the vent to the right, making a path for you to chase the thief.
Keep following the path through a few more enemies, then you’ll need to throw your spear at a spot by the waterfall to make some more climbing holds. Climb all the way to the top of the waterfall (the path splits going to the right, don’t go that way).
At the top, you’ll finally be fighting the thief. They are an Einherjar Tamer, and their unique feature is that they can summon monsters to fight with them, like the Wyvern that this one summons.
After they’re both dealt with, you can head by the tree and direct Atreus to pick up the moon in its container.
Return to Skoll and Hati
With the moon acquired, follow the path to the southeast leading out of the area. You’ll run into another blocked path that you took before but can now use the spear on the vent nearby to reach the upper level of the structure.
Deal with the Einherjar that appear in your way, and keep following the path to end up back at Skoll and Hati’s den for a scene. Once the scene is complete, pick up the item off the ground that the wolves offer to you.
Return to Freyr’s Camp
Head out the path to the left to start making your way back to Freyr’s camp back along the same path you took before.
Double Dreki
On your way back when you reach the area with the structure in the middle, you’ll be attacked by two Dreki at once, though these won’t become lightning empowered at all like prior ones. If you have Spartan Wrath equipped, you can unload all of your Rage on one to nearly kill one Dreki outright, even on higher difficulties. This will also fully charge your + ability for the weapon equipped, which can be used to finish off the first Dreki quickly. The second Dreki will likely be hiding in the water spitting poison at you, but once it comes out it will be like a regular Dreki without too much threat. Dodge/block its attacks and utilize your runic/companion abilities to deal with it quickly. Once they’re defeated make sure to loot the items they drop to obtain Artillery of the Ancients (Spear Heavy Runic Attack) and a Chaos Flame (BladesUpgrade).
When they’re defeated, you can head up the wall you blew up earlier to get to the Legendary Chest. On the same platform is a zipline, taking you down to the prior area. Keep following the path back until you reach Freyr’s camp to meet up with the rest of the group.
Rescue Freyr from the Einherjar
Freya will be with you now, and Atreus will stay behind. Head out of the camp back towards the boat landing, and take an immediate right where there will now be a new path. Make sure to grab the Yggdrasil’s Dew of Vitality as you go by for a +2 Vitality bonus.
Land the boat and follow the path ahead dealing with the enemies in your way. You’re now backtracking through the area you came through with Freya after defeating Nidhogg, so it will probably seem familiar. When you reach the other before the root bridge you’ll be attacked by some Draugr who are being buffed by a couple of Nokken. The one Nokken you can just follow around, as it’s on the ground with the Draugr. The other one is hidden though, and to kill it you need to burn the brambles on the tree opposite the altar (which also instantly kills the Nokken).
When the enemies are all dealt with, climb the path to the right and interact with the altar in the middle of the structure to change the time of day.
Follow the path along the bridge and back through the next area. On your way, you’ll pass another spot with a vent you can now use, allowing you to climb up to a Materials Chest containing 2 x Petrified Bone and 10 x Dwarven Steel.
Keep following the path back through the toxic plants and into the larger area where you’ll fight another wave of Einherjar. When they’re all dealt with you can head to the north side of the arena to pull your way through a wooden barrier.
Keep following the path and you’ll end up in the area where you fought Nidhogg. To progress further, look out the left side to where you can throw a spear at a vent, along you to continue towards the objective.
Follow the path and use the chain on the left to pull open the large gate ahead.
You’ll be blocked by some plants ahead, so you’ll need to destroy the vines blocking the Altar just to the right, and interact with it to change the time of day back to night.
Gulltoppr & Heimdall
This is effectively 3 boss fights in one. First up you fight Heimdell riding Gulltoppr, his steed. Gulltoppr is a relatively easy fight, even on higher difficulties, as he does not have a lot of health. Gulltoppr will attack with a variety of swiping attacks that can be dodged, blocked or parried, as well as unblockable charges and and a shield strike trample attack. Heimdall will also throw Bifrost at you, which you can dodge. Most of these attacks are very easy to read and punish.
Once Gulltopr is dead, you will face Heimdall for the first time. Initially you won’t be able to hit him directly, so you will need to throw your Draupnir Spear at him or near him and detonate them with to increase his stagger bar. You will need to fill his stagger bar this way 3 times before you are able to hurt him normally. At the start you can throw the spears and detonate them immediately to increase his stagger, but eventually he’ll catch on and dash away when you throw them, so you will need to plant some and lure him towards them before detonating.
Once you’ve staggered him 3 times and got your first proper hit in, you’ll get a checkpoint. Heimdall will now start slowing down time and rush you with either a block break or unblockable attack, which you can dodge to then attack him. He’ll do a variety of slashes and swipes with his sword and Gjallarhorn, as well as slam his sword down for area-of-effect damage. After any of these attacks you will be able to punish him and get some hits in. He will also occasionally give himself some Bifrost Armor, which you will need to whittle away at before you can hurt him again. You can do this the same way you were previously, or by throwing your spears and detonating them. Use your runic attacks and Spartan Wrath if you have it when he’s vulnerable to make this fight faster.
After beating him, you’ll have a cutscene which is followed by another fight with Heimdall, which is another checkpoint. This is much the same as the previous fight with Heimdall, except now he will combo a lot of punching attacks together, and throw boulders at you before he slows down time. He will also follow up his unblockable ground slam with a shield strike attack that will launch you back for a lot of damage if you fail to strike him in time. Continue attacking him as you are until he is defeated. Pick up the items around the area to obtain the Hilt of Hofud (Relic), Emblem of the Nine Realms (Amulet Enchantment), along with the trophy Comeuppance .
Regroup with Freyr’s allies
With Heimdall dealt with, you can pull the barrier to the north to exit the area. Follow the path past the burning building to spot the rest of the group escaping with Freyr, then you can follow the path to the left to meet back up with them.
You’ll drop into a large circular room, and will be attacked by more waves of Einherjar. The enemies don’t really actually try to attack your allies, so you can chase them around the area and grapple to the upper floor to deal with them if necessary.
Escape from the prison
When all the enemies are dealt with, head down to the bottom and interact with Freya to pick him up.
You’ll have a bit of an auto-running section now with Kratos carrying Freya on his back. When the prompts such as and come on screen you can hit them to attack the enemies chasing you, or avoid obstacles until you reach the end of this section and a scene starts.
Return to Sindri’s when ready
Back in Freyr’s camp, the quest will be complete, and you can head back to Sindri’s. When you’re there you can speak with Ratatoskr before entering, and he’ll give you the Favor “A Stag for All Seasons”, which requires you find the Stags that have disappeared from the tree (and are all now located in Vanaheim).
When you’re ready to progress, head inside the house and interact with the table.
This finishes Creatures of Prophecy in God of War Ragnarok.
