Introduction
Welcome to the Middle-earth: Shadow of War Trophy Guide! It’s a very pleasant platinum with a mix of combat trophies (some of which have you dig deeper into the nemesis system), story trophies, collectibles (all marked on the map) and completion based tasks. You can do everything on easy difficulty. The game consists of 4 Acts. Act 1-3 are the main quests. Act 4 is called “Shadow Wars” and you’ll be defending your fortresses from enemy armies over the course of 10 stages. The online trophies are very simple. Even the online ranks (you must reach the rank of captain) are entirely based on your offline army. Play the game how you want. It’s advisable to focus on the story first to increase your level quickly and unlock all the trophy-related skills.
Step 1: Beat Act 3 of the Story + Get All Gondorian Artifacts as soon as possible for better Gem Drops + The Operative + It Came From Within + Vandal
There are three missable trophies you really need to look out for: The Operative + It Came From Within + Vandal. These are related to warchiefs and conquering fortresses. There are only 4 fortresses and after you’ve conquered them they can only be taken back by enemies during Act 4: Shadow Wars. Recruit two bodyguards of one warchief for “The Operative” and play the resulting Betrayal mission. For “It Came From Within” recruit all warchiefs of a fort before starting the conquest. For Vandal you must destroy a monument in an enemy camp (marked on map) before conquering the fortress of the region (they become unavailable once the fortress is captured). These three trophies are still possible in Act 4: Shadow Wars if you let enemies conquer your fort. After Act 4 they are impossible and you’d have to start a new game to get them. The earliest opportunity for all three missable trophies is in Act 2 when you conquer the fortress in Núrnen.
Get all Gondorian Artifacts as soon as possible. The earliest opportunity is after completing Act 2. At this point you get access to all regions. The Gondorian Artifacts unlock a skill upgrade called “Prospector”. This will make higher-tier gems drops for the trophy “Master Forger” (craft a top tier gem). If you fail to obtain this skill early on you may have to grind gems for a long time after the story.
Now simply play through the story until you’ve completed Act 3 and earned the gold trophy “Stalemate is Victory” (for defeating the final boss). Along the way you will unlock tons of trophies automatically. You are even given a full legendary set for completing Act 3 so don’t waste your time looking for gear.
The reason you need to do the story first is because most trophies require specific skills. Access to those skills is locked behind story progress and level caps. The only reliable way to level up is through story missions. You may also want to slot white gems into your armor / cloak for increased XP. Also buy the XP boost in the online market. You will get a bit of online currency automatically. You also get this currency from daily challenges. There’s an XP boost for 100 coins that doubles all XP for 2 hours. With this you’ll gain 2 level ups per mission!
Speaking of easy, you can totally play on easy difficulty if you wish. There are no difficulty-related trophies. Feel free to do any trophies / side activities along the way to save time later. Collectibles can be marked on the map by purifying Headir fast travel points. There are 15 fast travel points (3 per region). The fast travel points are always marked on the map.
After beating the witch-king boss the game will actually transition into a 4th act. The reason I recommend to stop at Act 3 is because the miscellaneous trophies are easier at this point. After Act 4 every captain in the game will be a follower of yours. Killing them all and making new captains spawn is a tedious process. It’s far better to do all the combat trophies right after Act 3.
Side Note: During Act 2 (Núrnen Region) fast travel to other regions will briefly become unavailable. The game opens back up after Act 2, so no worries, you can go back everywhere after Act 2.
Step 2: Miscellaneous Trophies
After beating Act 3 you’ll get access to all skills. Now is the best time to do any miscellaneous tasks, combat & nemesis trophies.
Do all trophies until you have only these 3 left: “Peace in Death” (complete Act 4), “Such Great Heights” (Captain Online Rank), “Master Forger” (forge a top tier gem).
After Act 4 it’s a bit more tedious to do the combat trophies. Better do them now. Also finish up the collectibles and other side tasks if you haven’t already. Everything gets marked on the map when you purify the haedir fast travel points.
Step 3: Act 4 Shadow Wars + Captain Online Rank + Top Tier Gem
With everything else out of the way, it’s time to finish Story Act 4 “Shadow Wars”. In this act you must defend your fortresses against enemy armies. This goes on for a total of 10 stages. With each stage the enemies level up. In the later stages multiple fortresses will be under siege at the same time. In total you must play 25 defense missions. It’s highly recommended you do this on easy difficulty. Also sell the gear you don’t need (hold in inventory) and buy defense upgrades with that money. This is going to be a 6-8 hour grind and it’s very repetitive. Each defense takes 15-20 minutes. You must kill the assault leaders to win the defense.
You will automatically reach the maximum level – level 60 – during this act. Always recruit the attacking assault leaders and captains. Then place them in your defense team. This will greatly boost the defense rating of your fortresses.
This plays nicely together with the trophy “Such Great Heights” for reaching the captain rank online. You don’t actually play online for this at all. Your online rank is based on your OFFLINE army strength. Having a strength of 2500 across all your attack & defense teams (all regions combined) will give you the captain rank. As you play through Act 4 and recruit higher level Orcs your strength is sure to increase well beyond 2500. You can check your current rating by clicking on “Online” and then press to see the score. The online statistics are slow to update. If your assault ratings don’t update play some online conquests after you’re done with Act 4. If the defense stats don’t update, travel to the respective region and sync the online stats again (press in online screen), or play an online defense mission in that region. For more in-depth information about Conquest Online Ranks, check out this: Middle Earth Shadow of War How to Rank Up in Online Conquest.
After Act 4 all Captains in the game will probably be your followers. So if you’re still missing combat trophies here’s how you can turn them hostile again: simply let random orcs kill you. They will then become higher level captains. You can also kill your own army. With the Bodyguard skill upgrade you can assign a captain as your bodyguard. Then call him to you and use the Destroy Followers skill upgrade to blow off his head. This way you can wipe out your entire army except for the overlord.
If you haven’t gotten the trophies “The Operative”, “It Came From Within”, “Vandal” be sure to let the enemies conquer one of your forts during Act 4.

The Bright Lord Middle-earth has been saved. For now… |
||
Earn all other Middle-earth Shadow of War Trophies to unlock Platinum (DLC not required).
Forger Forge a higher-quality Gem by combining three Gems of the same quality. |
||
First, you must unlock a gem slot. See trophy “Rule of Three”.
Gems are dropped randomly by enemies. Collect 3 gems of the same type, for example 3 green Life Gems. To see your collected gems and craft better ones, press Options > Inventory > > hold to unlock gem slot (costs 1000 money) > press again to select gems. |
||
Rule of Three Unlock 3 Gem slots. |
||
Gem slots cost 1000 money each. You can do this in the inventory after finding a gem (gems are dropped randomly by enemies).
Press Options > Inventory > Hover over your gear and press > hold to unlock gem slot. You must unlock a total of 3 gem slots to earn this trophy. |
||
Best Defense Equip 3 Siege Upgrades on an Assault Team. |
||
First you must reach level 20 and get to the third map called Núrnen. At level 20 you unlock the third assault team slot.
Siege upgrades cost 700 money each. They can be equipped by pressing Options-Button > Army > > assign someone from your army to an open slot > press to choose an upgrade. These functions aren’t available from the start, you must progress in the story and a tutorial will explain these mechanics to you automatically (Main Quest: Ring of Power). |
||
Fit for War Complete a challenge to upgrade a piece of gear. |
||
Over the course of the game you will frequently find rare (yellow), epic (orange) and legendary (purple) gear. What makes them special is that they can be upgraded through challenges.
To see the challenge for an item, open the inventory and scroll over the item. It will say “Unlock Challenge” with a lock in front of it. Here it shows what the challenge is and tracks the progress. They are easy repetitive tasks, for example set 3 enemies on fire. Each item has a different challenge assigned to it. Rare and Epic gear is the easiest to upgrade. In fact, if you keep all items in your inventory and just play through the game you will most likely complete these challenges without knowing about them. Don’t sell any gear, this way you can pick between many upgrade challenges and do the one that’s easiest for you. After completing the actual challenge you must go back to the inventory menu and hold on the item you want to upgrade. Only after performing the actual upgrade you will earn the trophy. The upgrade costs a little bit of money. |
||
Hostile Takeover Defeat a Warchief. |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed. This will be the first story trophy you unlock. A main mission in Act 1 has you kill a warchief.
Vandal Destroy a Monument. |
||
*Missable Trophy*
Monuments are marked on the map by a icon. They are marked on the map automatically. Climb up the Monument and press to destroy it. This trophy becomes missable after completing Act 4. Monuments only show up in enemy controlled camps. Once you have captured the region’s fort they will become unavailable. The last chance to have your forts recaptured is in Act 4. |
||
Speak Friend and Enter Open one of the Ithildin Doors. |
||
Ithildin doors are marked by a on the map. You’ll visit the first one automatically in Minas Morgul (the starting area). To open the door you must find the 6 Ithildin collectibles on the map. They get marked when you purify the Headir Towers. Pick up the 6 Ithildin and return to the door. Solve the poem to open it. Every region has a door and Ithildin collectibles.
To solve the poem you must fill in the blanks with the words you found. For Minas Morgul the solution is (from top to bottom): Shadows, Drums, Cadence, Land, Wrath, Doom. For all of the solutions for the other doors, check out Middle Earth Shadow of War Ithildin Poem Solutions Guide. |
||
Bound by Blood Complete an Online Vendetta. |
||
Online Vendettas show up randomly on the map. To be notified when a Vendetta becomes available, go to the game options > game settings > scroll down to online notifications and check the box that says “Online Notifications”. It will then show a popup in the top left corner when an online vendetta has spawned.
These missions happen when random players get killed. Then you can avenge them by killing their executioner. Just stay connected to PSN and these will show up. |
||
Avenged Complete a Vendetta Mission. |
||
Vendetta missions become available when an Orc has killed you. Just let anyone kill you and you’ll see the vendetta marked on the map by a icon. Play the mission and defeat / recruit the Orc who previously killed you.
Master Forger Forge a top tier Gem. |
||
Gems are dropped by enemies. Press and look for enemies with white outlines. Those always hold a gem. It’s random what type of gem they will drop. Ologs usually drop higher quality gems. Some captains can drop them too. The fastest way is to free roam through the open world with the vision active and look for white colored enemies. Fast travel from camp to camp and repeat.
You should keep this trophy for the endgame after you’ve completed Act 4: Shadow Wars. During Act 4 a ton of mid-tier gems will drop during fortress defenses. To forge gems, go to the Inventory > Unlock a Gem Slot (costs 1000 money) > press on a slot > hold on 3 gems of the same color to craft the next tier gem. There are 5 tiers. It always costs 3 gems of the previous tier to craft the next best tier. With this skill Treasure Hunter > Upgrade: Prospector it will drop higher quality gems for you. This skill is unlocked by finding all Gondorian Artifacts. Get it as soon as possible (earliest chance is after completing Act 2). This will greatly reduce the grind. You should get enough gems during Act 4 if you get this skill right away. |
||
Promise Keeper Issue a Death Threat, and then successfully kill the target. |
||
To issue a death threat you must interrogate a worm and command him to give a death threat to a captain.
Worms are highlighted by a green outline when you press . They are found in camps around fast travel points. Interrogate them by holding and then issue the command to deliver a death threat to a captain. Now play the resulting mission and kill the captain. |
||
Death is not the End Resurrect a Follower Captain. |
||
This requires the skill “Raise Dead” with the Upgrade “Undying Loyalty”. If you don’t have dead captains, assign one as your bodyguard, call him to you and kill him. The skill cannot be used on hostile captains, only on your own army. |
||
Dismantled Disable an Outpost. |
||
Outposts are marked on the map by a icon. They are in big enemy camps (usually around fast travel points). Sometimes the icon has a white color and not orange. There are outposts on every map. Just fast travel to any map, zoom in and look for this icon at enemy camps. Play the outpost mission and kill the captain in the outpost to earn this trophy.

The Stuff of Legend Equip a full Legendary Gear set. |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks before the final boss fight in Act 3. You automatically receive the full legendary set before the final boss fight starts. It will be equipped automatically (you don’t have to do it manually). During the loading screen before the Sauron boss this trophy will unlock.
Finished Tales Recover all Gondorian artifacts. |
||
Gondorian Artifacts get marked on the map when you purify Headir Towers. Collect all of them for this trophy. You can track and mark any missing artifacts in the quest log. There is a section just for Gondorian Artifacts and it will tell you in what region they are and even highlight them on the map.
Note: one Artifact in Seregost is from the main mission “The Uninvited” (Gondor quest line). If your statistics show one missing in that area it’s because you haven’t completed the quest yet. All other Artifacts in the game are found in the open world. |
||
The Web Revealed Uncover the final Shelob memory and reveal the Web of Fate. |
||
Shelob Memories get marked on the map when you purify Headir Towers. Collect all of them for this trophy. There are 15 in total (3 per region) plus one final reveal of the full memory. After finding all Shelob Memories the final memory spawns in Cirith Ungol. You can track and mark any missing memories in the quest log. There is a section just for Shelob memories and it will tell you in what region they are and even highlight them on the map.

First Steps Conquer the Fortress of Núrnen. |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.

Undeath Defeats Undeath Complete all Carnán quests. |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.
Fall and Rise Complete all Brûz quests. |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.
No Orc Lives Forever Win all Fight Pit missions. |
||
To do this you must first beat Act 3 of the story. The reason being that the Fight Pits in Minas Morgul are locked until this point.
There are 15 Fight Pits missions in total. Each map has 3 of them (Maggot, Warrior, Champion difficulty). They are marked by a icon on the map. The missions are simulated fights between one of your Orcs and an enemy Orc. You don’t have to fight yourself. One of your Orcs must win in each fight pit. The good thing is that the 3 missions per map are always in the same location. If your captain is about to lose you can actually quit the application and load the game again. Then your captain won’t be dead and you can retry. The AI is really bad against Berserkers and Shield enemies. You also earn skill points, money and fortress upgrades from doing the fight pits. |
||
Forged by War Unlock all player skills. |
||
Simply purchase every main skill (upgrades are NOT required). The last skill called “Raise Dead” unlocks automatically during the final mission of Act 3. So just finish Act 3 and you to get access to everything. There are 34 basic skill in total. You earn skill points by leveling up and doing open world activities. You don’t even have to make the upgrades available for purchase, just the main skills.
Here’s a screenshot with all skills unlocked: |
||
Purge Purify all the Haedir. |
||
Haedir are the game’s version of viewpoints. They are all marked on the map as soon as you visit a new region. There are a total of 15 Headir you must find for this trophy. There are 5 regions and exactly 3 Headir per region.
They are tall tower you can climb. Upon climbing them you must hold to interact with the Headir. Then look around and highlight objects of interest. Once all objects have been marked, back out and the Headir will act as a fast travel point. You also earn a skill point for purifying all haedir in a region. |
||
Stalemate is Victory Defeat the Witch-king and reclaim Minas Morgul. |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks at the end of Act 3.
The Operative Turn all of a Warchief’s bodyguards (minimum 2) into spies, then confront him. |
||
*Missable Trophy*
Go to the army menu and select an enemy warchief. You will see lines going from the warchief to some of the captains. Those are his bodyguards! Almost every warchief has 2 or more bodyguards. Mark the bodyguards and track them down, then recruit them. After all of his bodyguards have been recruited, a new “Betrayal” mission will show up on the map. When you start the mission the trophy will unlock. The spy bodyguards will show up and help you defeat the warchief. The earliest opportunity is during Act 2 after learning how to recruit Orcs. During Act 4 you can have enemies retake your forts to still get this trophy. After Act 4 there’s no way to lose your forts anymore so you must do the trophy before then. |
||
Such Great Heights Reach the rank of Captain in Online Conquest. |
||
For this you need an internet connection. Luckily, you don’t need to play any online conquest matches at all.
Your conquest rank is determined by the total strength of your OFFLINE army (siege & defense teams). Captain is rank 5 of 10. Online Conquests are unlocked after capturing the Fortress in Núrnen (unmissable story objective). There are 10 ranks in total:
It counts the strength of all your region armies together. Assign high-level Orcs to your attack & defense teams, buy all siege & fotress upgrades, and make sure you have someone assigned to every slot. There are 6 attack slots (reach player level 45 to unlock) and 7 defense slots (complete all fighting pits during Act 4 to unlock). Again, these scores are based on your OFFLINE army (not online) and you have to do this during Act 4 of the story anyway. Don’t worry about this trophy at all, you’ll get it during Act 4 without having to play any online matches ever. Just be sure to check your stats in the online menu. When you’ve got more than 2500 army strength it will unlock. Sometimes the online statistics are slow to update. If your assault ratings don’t update play some online conquests after you’re done with Act 4. If the defense stats don’t update, travel to the respective region and sync the online stats again (press in online screen), or play another defense mission in that region. If the trophy doesn’t pop after syncing your stats in the online menu, go play an online conquest and it will pop at the end of it. For advanced strategies on ranking up quickly also see: Shadow of War How to Rank Up in Online Conquest |
||
No Orc Left Behind Rescue a Follower who’s been captured. |
||
Rescue missions happen one of your captains failed a nemesis mission and was captured by an enemy captain. You can then undertake a rescue mission for a chance to save him.
The easiest way is to recruit 5-6 captains (preferably the lowest level ones in the region). Then keep advancing time by pressing on a Headir Fast Travel Tower. Every time you advance time, the Uruk will fight each other. If you have the lowest level Uruks, odds are good that they will be defeated by higher level hostile Uruks. You will get a prompt on-screen when one of your followers was captured. Just keep advancing time until this happens. Technically, this trophy can also unlock without you rescuing the follower personally. A timer will go down after the follower has been captured and after the timer runs out it’s decided whether he escapes or gets killed. If he escapes on his own you earn this trophy anyway. Rescue missions show up with a blue icon on the map. |
||
Better Luck Next Time Meet an Enemy or a Follower who has cheated death. |
||
This has a high likelihood of unlocking naturally over time. What you must do is kill a captain and meet that same captain again later in the world after he has respawned.
You will be killing quite a lot of captains over the course of the game. There’s a good chance you’ll run into someone you killed earlier by accident but you can also look for captain locations on the map (which are all marked), kill them, wait for them to respawn in their respective region and kill all captains again. I wouldn’t worry about this, just play the game and you’ll almost certainly get this without even trying. |
||
Everything is Permitted Shame an Assassin until he becomes deranged. |
||
Equip the skill upgrade “Worse than Death” (under predator skills it’s an upgrade for the Death Threat). You unlock this skill by beating the quest “Worse than Death” in the Brûz quest line. Mark the Assassin Captain in the army menu. This reveals his location on the map. Track down the captain and when he has little health left, hold Circle/B to dominate him and then choose to Shame him. With the Worse than Death skill equipped there is a good chance he will become deranged instantly. If not, you must track down the same captain again and repeat the process until he becomes deranged. There’s also a slight chance that this actually makes him stronger, in which case you should kill him and move on to a different Assassin. |
||
It Came From Within Start a Conquest with all Warchiefs as spies. |
||
*Missable Trophy*
This is best done while you play through the story. The reason being that you will automatically capture all fortresses during the story. After you’ve captured a fortress it can only be retaken by enemies during Act 4: Shadow Wars. Every fortress has warchiefs. You can track them down in the army menu. Recruit or kill them before you begin the conquest. After recruting a warchief he will actually become a captain and be removed from the fort. The trick is to send your captain on an infiltration mission to fill the empty warchief spot. This is done in the army menu by pressing on your captain, select an open warchief slot and confirm with to infiltrate. Play the resulting infiltration mission. Then start the conquest and the trophy will unlock. You only need one single warchief, the other spots can remain empty. It’s only important that there are no enemy warchiefs alive. For example, if a fort has 3 warchief slots the trophy will unlock when one of them is your spy and the other two are dead (empty spots). If you’ve already captured all forst you can let enemies retake them in Act 4: Shadow Wars. After Act 4 there is no way to have your forts recaptured anymore so this trophy can no longer be obtained. |
||
Power Couple Send a Follower to support another Follower in a Nemesis Mission. |
||
First you need to recruit a bunch of captains (earliest chance is in Act 2 when you learn how to recruit them).
Blue Nemesis missions will now show up on the map. If you don’t see them, advance time at a fast travel point. Basically, your orcs will go on little missions like pit fights and hunts. You can send another follower to help them on their quest.
The trophy pops instantly in the army menu. No need to play the actual quest. |
||
Overkill Send a Follower to kill another Follower in a pit fight. |
||
Recruit two captains into your army. Now go to the army menu and press on one captain and again on another you want him to fight. This will create a pit fight quest on the map. Do that quest and the trophy is yours.
Life of the Party Send a Destroyer on a Vendetta Mission. |
||
“Destroyer” is an advanced class some captains have. You can check this in the army menu by scrolling over a captain. Under his name it says the class (or you can press and check his class traits). Find such an Orc and recruit him.
Now let an Orc kill you to create a Vendetta mission. Go back to the army menu, press on your Destroyer and then on the Orc who just killed you. This will issue a kill command. The trophy will pop instantly while still in the army menu. |
||
If You Can’t Beat Them Dominate an Orc after he’s killed you three or more times. |
||
Find a random Orc or captain and let him kill you. Write down the name. Now go to the army menu and press on the captain to track him. Get killed a total of 3 times by the same captain. Then on the fourth time you need to dominate and recruit him.
You’d think getting killed is easy enough but it’s more tricky than that. Sometimes Orcs will randomly come to your help and kill an enemy who’s about to execute you. To reduce the risk of this happening, you should wipe out your entire army in the region. Do this until all Orcs in the region are hostile. Furthermore, there’s sometimes a random “Orc Slayer” appearing who rescues you and kills the attacker. This guy can’t be killed and he instant-kills anyone trying to kill you. After tracking down the Orc you want to be killed by, let a random Orc try to execute you but do not try to counter the execution. Then the Orc Slayer will likely come to rescue you. He only rescues you once every encounter. Now let the captain kill you (this time the Orc slayer won’t spawn because he already rescued you). Remember to kill all your allies in the region, otherwise they will also show up to instant-kill the attacker. Alternatively, go down twice and counter the final blow. Then on the third time you will always get killed by the attacker. Putting the game on Nemesis difficulty in the game options makes you go down faster. It’s also good to find an Orc Captain with the ability “No Chance”. He will always kill you straight away, leaving you no chance to counter. |
||
Headhunter Recruit a Follower of every Advanced Class. |
||
In the army menu you can press on captains, warchiefs and overlords that you have discovered. Then scroll to the third tab from the left called Class Traits. The first entry says “Advanced Class”, this is where you can see what class an Orc is.
You can reveal this info by interrogating worms (marked by a green dot above their head, you must hold on them to interrogate). You can press to highlight worms from a distance, run up to them and press + to stealth-interrogate. You also unlock an enemy’s traits when you encounter them in combat or scan them from afar. Whenever you engage combat with a captain, they will say something to you and it shows the button prompt in the bottom right corner. You can press the button to see their advanced class. Every captain, warchief and overlord has an advanced class! This is highly likely to unlock naturally over time as you build your army. The quickest way would be to interrogate lots of worms to see everyone’s advanced class, then recruit the ones with a class you do not yet have. It’s okay if Orcs die afterward, you do not need one of each class alive at the same time. Also keep in mind you can advance time at fast travel points to make new Orcs with new classes spawn. The ability to recruit followers unlocks automatically when you reach Núrnen. There are the following 10 classes:
|
||
I Like to Watch Watch a Follower murder another Captain without helping him. |
||
This trophy is unmissable. While you attack & defend fortresses your captains will attack enemy captains. Let one of them kill an enemy captain. You can also give one of your captains the command to ambush another captain and then watch how he kills him. Don’t worry about this, in Act 4 you have to do 25 fortress defenses and captains will kill each other every few seconds.
Second Age Warrior Complete all Shadow of the Past missions in one region. |
||
Shadow of the Past missions are marked on the map with a icon. You unlock them during the prologue of the story. You actually have to play one of them in a story quest.
Luckily you must only complete them in ONE region. Not all in the game. The ones in Minas Morgul (starting area) are very easy. There are 4 of them in the area + a fifth mission after finishing the first 4. They are little challenges, e.g. killing a certain amount of enemies. You do not have to get a gold rating or do any of the optional objectives. Just finish the missions, the rating does not matter (bronze will do). |
||
Rough Rider Ride every type of beast and rare beast. |
||
There are a total of 7 beast mounts that you must ride. Four of them can be summoned at any time with skills. 3 of them are rare elemental versions of the Graug (poison, ice, fire). The way rare Graug spawns work is that ANY normal Graug on the map can turn into a rare elemental version. Just look for a spot where a Graug always spawns. Then advance time at a fast travel tower and keep coming back to check if the Graug changed into a rare one. Within 20-30 tries you will find the rare version. The video guide shows the best farming locations.
There’s also a wooden version of each beast in the Carnán quest line but these probably don’t count. You have to ride them as part of main quests, they are unmissable. Just in case the trophy does not unlock with the above 3 mounts do the Carnán quests. |
||
Wild Things Kill a drake while riding a graug. |
||
The best place to do this is at the Haedir fast travel point in the middle of Núrnen. Keep advancing time by pressing Square (PS4) / B (XB1) on the fast travel point. Do this until a drake spawns (usually within 1-5 tries). Now make sure you have the skills “Call Mount” + “Upgrade: Graug Call” equipped. Both are mounted skills. Call a Graug and chase after the drake, then shoot it with some arrows. However, you don’t want to “break” the drake (meaning its icon can’t turn green). Go to an open area and wait for the drake to attack you with its flames. While the drake breathes fire, shoot it in the head to force it to the ground. Then attack with the Graug to kill it quickly. Also feel free to do a few more headshots while it’s on the ground for bonus damage. |
||
Trolling Kill a Captain while riding an Olog. |
||
This is the trickiest trophy in the game. Start by finding an Olog captain who has the bonus “Gang of Ologs”. You can see this by pressing R3 on the captain in the army menu (in his bonus tab, the fourth from the left). Almost every Olog Captain has this. Even if they don’t they are very likely to have normal Ologs nearby. Aside from having normal Ologs guarding them, they are also the biggest targets to hit (this will make coordination a bit simpler). After tracking down the captain reduce his health to 1%. When he’s low on health use only single sword strikes and arrows. Now shoot another Olog in the head with a charged arrow and IMMEDIATELY press R1 (PS4) / RB (XB1) to mount him. Repeatedly press the attack button while on the Olog’s back and use the left stick to navigate. Run into the captain to kill him. If the captain’s health was low enough you will be able to kill him. If it didn’t work you can mount the Olog again (and usually there’s a second or third one nearby). Be very careful that you don’t kill the captain prior to mounting the Olog. What makes this tricky is that normal Ologs do very little damage. So if the captain’s life bar is still visible (meaning 3% health or more) you won’t make it. Also, the captain’s health may refill a little bit if you wait too long (must mount the Olog quickly). Additional tip: because this is relatively easy to mess up you should back up your save game before engaging the Olog captain. Go to PS4 Settings – Application Saved Data Management to back up & restore your save game. Alternatively, you may also find Outpost missions where you must kill Ologs to draw out a captain. These work perfectly for this but are completely random. You could keep doing outposts missions until you get one of these (I found such a mission in the south-east camp of Núrnen). |
||
Vertical Mobility Help a grunt become an Overlord. |
||
Step 1: Let a random Orc kill you. Sometimes the reposition option is greyed out. If that happens make someone else overlord and try again, or issue the reposition command to your overlord directly (instead of commanding the captain). |
||
Blood on Blood Make a Captain kill his bloodbrother. |
||
First you will want to reveal all enemy captains and warchiefs in a region. The fastest way to do this is by interrogating worms. When pressing L1/LB, worms are highlighted in green. You can interrogate them by holding Circle / B and it will give you intel on an enemy captain. Now dominate one of the two bloodbrothers (preferably the higher level one) and command him to attack the other one. After domination you can press X (PS4) / A (XB1) to issue the command. This will spawn a new mission on the map with a blue icon. Go and do that mission, the two bloodbrothers will now fight each other. You are allowed to damage the opponent, just make sure the final blow comes from the captain. |
||
Nemesis Encounter the same Orc 3 times in nemesis missions without killing him. |
||
Go to the quest menu and select a Nemesis quest. Play the quest and draw out the enemy captain. Let the captain kill you. Repeat this a total of 3 times, always letting him (or his guards) kill you. You can just keep repeating the same quest. After your third death the trophy unlocks.
This can be combined with the trophy “If You Can’t Beat Them” (for which you must dominate a captain who has killed you 3 times). |
||
Feed the Beasts Attract every kind of beast using bait. |
||
There are 5 types of beasts you need to attract: Caragors, Graugs, Drakes, Ghuls, Spiders. This can be earned on any map except Minas Morgul. I did it on the second map Cirith Ungol. In enemy camps you’ll see bait hanging around. It will be highlighted when pressing L1. Shoot down the bait and Ghul Eggs / Spider Eggs in a few enemy camps and this will unlock. The eggs are found in the region Cirith Ungol.
You can also fast travel across different regions and try camps there. |
||
Bad Boss Strike a Follower until he’s had enough. |
||
You unlock the ability to recruit captains during Story Act 2 (after reaching region Núrnen). |
||
Follower Perks Use a Training Order to give a Follower a gang. |
||
*Online Trophy*
For this you need an internet connection and be signed into PSN. In the pause menu open the online Market. Now buy a warchest that contains a training order. It can be a silver one that you buy with normal in-game money. You don’t need to spend money on microtransactions for this. The online currency can also be earned through daily challenges found in your quest log. Now that you have a training order, select an Orc in the army menu and press to improve him. This will give him a new bonus such as adding a gang of followers to him. Trophy unlocked! |

Banish the Darkness Complete all Eltariel quests. |

Very detailed and easy to follow, good job as always !
Is chapter 4 is tedious grind (20-30 hr) like some media said ?
and can you just farm your character until you reach cap in some way ?
PowerPyx says
You get to the level 60 cap automatically in act 4.
Act 4 is not a 20 hour grind. It took me 6h 30min to complete act 4. I was playing on easy difficulty. Never lost a defense mission.
Act 1-3 took 12 hours to complete.
Craig says
I’m still on chapter 2 & am at level 45. I haven’t felt like I’m grinding at any point. I figure I’ll prob hit level 60 before I even start chapter 4.
Craig says
I figure that the media said that because they only had time to play the main story quests & do nothing else. If you do that, then I guess you could potentially get to act 4 & have to grind for a while to do the Shadow Wars. But the same is true of any game. If you don’t do any side-quests or exploring, you are always going to be under-powered for the harder parts of the late game.
Cogarn says
I have a Probleme with the Gondorian Artifacts i only found 11 in Seregost
The towers Show me only 11 Not the needed 12.
Have someone an idea what can i do?
PowerPyx says
One is from a story quest, unmissable. Do all quests in that region and you’ll get it.
The quest is called “The Uninvited” (Gondor quest line).
Cogarn says
Thx
PowerPyx says
Thanks for asking. I added that info to the guide.
Rhondalgun says
Is this quest repeatable? This is the last artifact missing. I’m about to finish act 3.
d says
Yes it is
JMR says
So, for the siege/defense missions, do you have to do any combat yourself (i.e. fight the oncoming attackers) or is it all done thru the Army menu?
PowerPyx says
Yes you must defend yourself. IF you leave it up to your AI buddies they will get crushed in no time. You still have to do the killing.
JMR says
Thanks, very helpful!

Thanks for the guide PP.
Good work mate. Picking the game up today. ;)

for the online vendetta missions do you need to have a friend playing to get these missions? or is there a way to connect online with others and get one that way.

It will also show you online vendettas of random players. You don’t need any friends playing the game.

Hi, great guide as always. I have shot the bait in multiple camps and have attracted carragors, graugs and drakes but the trophy wont pop for me.
RomeoNovember says
I have done it multiple times now in different camps, i fought the beasts that were lured by the bait so i am sure i’ve had all 3. Still no trophy
PowerPyx says
Can you check something? There are eggs of spiders in some areas. I found them in Cirith Ungol during a main quest where you follow Gollum. Some of the eggs made spiders spawn and others made Ghuls spawn.
I don’t think they count because they’re not in the trophy image. But it’s worth a shot. Let me know if that unlocks it for you.
RomeoNovember says
The Trophy popped after i shot the Ghul egg and the Spider egg. Thanks for the tip man.
PowerPyx says
Thanks for confirming. I’ll update it in the guide!

How do you bait drakes in for feed the beasts achievement
DS says
I can’t find one drake bait after few hours. I try all outpost, can’t find one. Tips – You need one Feral and promote him to Overload, I instant find the Drake bait at the outpost.

Thanks for the guide!
Dog Face says
Hi, how does platinum trophy difficulty and length differ were you to play on a harder difficulty?
PowerPyx says
Yes, on Nemesis difficulty it’ll be a lot harder (6/10) and take a bit longer depending on how often you die (maybe 15-25h longer).
DarthTrey says
I really recommend playing the game on the Nemesis difficulty. I personally found the standard difficulty a little too easy. The nemesis difficulty isn’t too much harder (which is surprising to me because I usually suck at games). I think a lot of the fun of the Nemesis System relies on you dying, which is why there are practically no negative consequences for dying. If you are playing through the game just to get the platinum or are struggling on the normal difficulty, then playing on easy is really smart. But really, combat isn’t too much harder on Nemesis.
Also disclaimer: I occasionally turn the game on easy for Shadow of the Past missions and I plan on playing act 4 on easy too.
JMR says
I’m still early in the game but I feel like the checkpoint system during main missions isn’t very generous. Essentially if you screw up/die during main mission you get taken back to the very start, which is super annoying. Is there any way to manually save your progress in this game (maybe by visiting Haedir points)?
Luis says
So , can i get All trophies after completing the game ?
I mean like is there any missable trophies? Because in guide says that there are but people are saying NO
PowerPyx says
There are 3 missables as pointed out in the guide.
Luis says
Thanks bro! Can i do the collectables in the end of the game? Thanks for the help by the way .
PowerPyx says
Yes, they can still be done after the story.

If You Can’t Beat Them trophy is total B.S, every time i try and do it someone comes and saves me and instakills the captain :l
RomeoNovember says
Im having the same problem, it’s really annoying.
Fiel Veredus says
As soon as I reach Act 2 i do this and it is done quite easy to do when you still not have much ally except that random orc slayer. but i got it done first try nice and easy (i actually dominate at 4th encounter so i get Nemesis trophy on the way)
RomeoNovember says
How did you prevent the orc slayer from killing the captains?
mattyco611 says
hi, i dont know if this issue has been solved for you, but for others also, i was having this problem too and i got the trophy last night. the easiest thing to do is find a captain with the perk “no chance”. what this means is when this captain gets you on one knee (no health) you cant counter, and an orc slayer never shows up.
BodyChipper says
I wouldn’t say that with absolute certainty. I fought an overlord once with the “No Chance” skill and a random controlled warchief still came in and killed him for me when he had me on one knee. Easy fortress takeover, but that disproves the theory that “No Chance” means you will die 100% of the time. It sure helps makes it more likely tho.
RomeoNovember says
Is there any way to make one of the rescue missions for a follower appear? I still havent gotten one. Can you send a low leveled follower against a high leveled captain and wil it capture them or wil it just kill them?
GunnarShady says
U have to conquer a fortresse first, and then wait untill a follower loose an quest^^ then u wil get a rescue mission. The eaisiest way is to use the advanced time 3-4 times, i did it in one try^^
Snake2410 says
Vandal can be done in act 1 after you unlock Cirith Ungol. There are two statues in the northern fortress.
Fiel Veredus says
I have a problem with No orc left behind. I never get rescue mission pop up ever. try to advance bunch of time, any tip?
PowerPyx says
You have recruited some orcs on the map right? A few of them need to be yours and a few need to be enemies who capture them.
Just keep playing, one of them will unlock sooner or later. I got many throughout the game.
Luke says
For “If You Can’t Beat Them” it really helps if you choose a Captain with the No Chance skill. Also you can shame a target if his level get’s too high.
PowerPyx says
Good idea, will add it in, thank you 🙂
Mad Dog says
The “No Chance” perk is not a guarantee, though. I was about to get my third death from a No Chance Warchief and Mr. Let-Me-Screw-This-Up-For-You Orc-Slayer showed up anyway. I also had ZERO recruits in the region.
Mad Dog says
The July 2022 update added an option to disable Saviors. It’s at the bottom of the Gameplay Options. See, this is why you should ALWAYS wait at least four years before playing a new game.
Frank Manion says
The only trophy that I need is Feed The Beasts. What does Drake bait look like and where can I find it. I have been looking in camps for hours. Any info would be appreciated.
RomeoNovember says
Its the bait that is on the ground compared to the caragor and the graug bait that is hanging.
Frank Manion says
The Drake bait is the only bait that is not present in every camp/fort. (Besides the eggs.) I found a way that you can make the Drake bait spawn. Once you have taken over a fort, make one of your followers that has the Feral class trait an Overlord for that fort. Uruks with the Feral class trait, spawn the bait on a consistent basis. After you make the Feral Uruk your Overlord, go to that Fort and the bait should now be present.
SiRRR says
Great Guide!
I struggle with the “No Orc Lives Forever” Trophy. Must the same Orc win all 15 Pit fights or just one Orc in each Region?
If one must win all 15, how can i switch the Orc from one Region to another?
And my second Question, Is it only possible to get “Trolling” with “Gang of Ologs”? There is nobody with that skill in the Army tab…
Thanks guys
Frank Manion says
I got “Trolling” by looking for an outpost mission where you have to kill Ologs to make the captain appear. These bases/missions have a enormous amount of Ologs. You can easily get the trophy if you use this method.
Frank Manion says
I can confirm that you do not need to use the same Uruk for all of the pit fights. You can use a different Uruk in each region. However, you can move Uruks from one region to the next. You need to have a training order to do so. They can be bought through the market. It is random what training order you will get though. I recommend finding a Beserker in the region that you want to complete the pit fights in. If he is not strong enough to win the fight, recruit some other captains and pit them against the Beserker so that you can level up the Beserker for the actual pit fight missions.
Gabriel says
You can also dominate any olog captain and then give him the gang of ologs perk and keep attacking him until he betrays you.
Tip: You can also get the “Bad Boss” trophy by doing this
RIv1404 says
Wild Things trophy
I recieved it while riding graug, but i kill it from my bow, the drake do not even landed, but trophy still pop up to me.
Hope it help) for your perfect guide)
Frank Manion says
This is true. I got the trophy the same way. Killed the Drake with the bow while riding the Graug.
JMR says
I’ve done that at least a dozen times now (ie. killing the drake in the air with my arrows while riding the graug) but still no trophy.
NinjaTortuga says
I can confirm this too….just did it right meow as the drake was flying away
Luke says
I finished the story at level 45, how do I rank up easier? The fight pit missions have level 50+ captains?
Luke says
I managed to get it done, replaying the missions is a good tip. I got a 58 opponent downgraded to a 53 opponent. My tips would be use a follower that has poisoned weapons and a gang of followers.
Always great work with these guide PowerPyx, especially when you get them out so quick! <3
JMR says
For the “Blood on Blood” trophy I followed your instructions, but my captain always betrays me during the fight. Like, it happens every single time. I also tried not going to the mission but instead advancing time and the bloodbrother does get killed by the captain but there’s no trophy.
BodyChipper says
I found it easiest if you have both blood brothers in your army and under your control. then when you order one to fight the other it puts them into a pit fight against each other. Then no matter who wins, you get the trophy because you technically forced both to fight. It’s important to make sure neither are currently in a mission to make this happen.
Snake2410 says
For “Trolling” you can actually use damage over time stat effects to kill the captain, just have to be riding an Olog when he dies. I accidentaly poisoned the captain I used and managed to mount an Olog right as the poison killed him. Trophy popped.
Neekafat says
What I ended up doing was making an Olog follower my bodyguard, then riding him once the enemy captain was low on health.
swotam says
Nice guide PowerPyx, was able to get a lot of the trophies just by looking at the descriptions but the guide was helpful for a few, that’s for sure.
Having trouble with Trolling. I have an Olog with a gang but so far I’ve had no luck actually killing him with an Olog. The mounting seems incredibly unreliable, out of 15 or so attempts I think I’ve managed to actually mount the Olog twice, and both times the damage wasn’t enough to kill the Captain.
I think I’ll have to try and find one of those “kill Olog’s” missions, that seems like a potentially better solution. Very annoying trophy for sure.
Snake2410 says
You can also try assigning a bodyguard Olog and summon him when the captain is at extremely low health, then shoot your follower in the head and mount him. It’s unreliable, but might help.
If you can inflict poison or fire damage when they’re low health and then immediately mount an Olog (follower might be easier in this situation) you might get it before even hitting the captain with the Olog.
Took like 6 hours for me to get lucky enough that everything went flawless. Probably the biggest pita trophy in the series for me to this point.
Kyle says
Which fortresses get attacked in Act 4? Every region’s fortress? Just wondering which ones to focus on. Also, do siege upgrades make a big difference for the defenses in Act 4?
Daniel says
I finished act 4 and my strength is 1644 :l You said it will automatically unlock during act 4.
PowerPyx says
Maybe the online stats are laggy, it happened to me too. Takes time to update. You can check your defense stats manually by looking at the army on each map and adding up the values. Then do what it says in the guide to make the stats update.
Daniel says
I managed to get to around 2200 with some moving around but can’t seem to get higher than that, whats crazy is when I move a higher rank captain to warchief my rating goes down. So confusing.
PowerPyx says
You can also place your defense team in your assault slots. Be sure to buy all fort upgrades, too (the last one is unlocked from fight pits).
These are glitchy to update and you may have to play a few online conquests to make the game realize your army strength.
After Act 4 you should be level 60 and can recruit some high level orcs and replace the low level ones. This will gain you some quick army strength.
Kyle says
How can you tell what tribe an orc is from in your army? I don’t see it under details.
PowerPyx says
If I recall correctly it’s when you press R3 on them and the 2nd (maybe 3rd) field from the left says something about their traits. Where it shows their advanced class it also says what tribe they are from.
trophy_help says
If you are having a hard time getting a rescue follower mission to pop up, try and intentionally lose a fort. Back up a save to the cloud or usb drive first so you don’t have to reconquer the region, but when I did this a rescue mission for my overlord popped up and I got the trophy out of that mission.
Madmonarch says
Hey, this is the earliest guide I see. Kudos for that! I’s quite confused with this line..
“After beating the witch-king boss the game will actually transition into a 4th act. The reason I recommend to stop at Act 3 is because the miscellaneous trophies are easier at this point. ”
Do I need to stay in act 3 and do the miscellaneous trophies or stay after act 3 or within act 4?
Thanks in advance!
Snake2410 says
Stay in Act 3. Act 4 is where a lot of the misc trophies get more difficult, if not impossible in Act 4.
Ayanami-chan says
I’m playing on normal, do you think that will dramatically increase the time to platinum over easy mode?
PowerPyx says
Not really.
Nemesis is the only difficulty that makes an impact on platinum difficulty & time. Because you die much more easily on Nemesis you might have to redo fort defenses in act 4. On easy & normal there’s not too big of a difference. Just don’t die during fort defenses in Act 4 and you’re good. If it gets too tedious you can still switch to easy at any time.
Caleb says
For the If you can’t beat them trophie will you still get it if you shame them?
TylerH says
A) You don’t hit level 60 just by getting to Act 4. You still have a level and need to grind XP through defense & conquest.
B) There are NO missable trophies. If it is related to a conquest of a fort simply lose a defense match (get one shotted by a nasty assassin) and then you have to do the conquest for the fort again.
C) Getting crushed in defense is only because you don’t have the right/enough bodyguards & warchiefs assigned to a node. Put fire immunity guys with guys that like fire weapons etc… They can own a player and other nemesis guys if you set it up right.
D) HINT Spiked walls + Metal Walls + Spewing (Fire/Poison) means the defense can almost be 100% done outside of the fort.
PowerPyx says
A) You don’t hit level 60 by getting to Act 4, but by COMPLETING Act 4. It’s calculated in such a way that you get 1 level up per mission. Throw in the 100% XP boost from the market and you get 2 level-ups per quest.
B) After having COMPLETED Act 4, there is no way to lose your forts anymore (no more defense missions will appear). So yes, there are missable trophies.
C / D) Self-explanatory.
TylerH says
Sorry didn’t mean for it to sound overly aggressive. The reason I say there aren’t any missable trophies is because of when/where you get locked out. And I see that you’ve updated the post to show that so thanks!
I still am not getting a l level per quest in shadow wars, I think I’m right at 50 right now and in stage 6 so that weird.
Thanks again for updating the main post with the information about being able to do them in Act 4!
Arkayus says
The ai i the fight pit is so bad , i lose all the time, clearly the most difficult trophy for me
Dan A says
Hi
Can’t seem to unlock all pit fights trophy. I’ve won them all can anyone point out what else or what I’ve done wrong.
TylerH says
You probably need to get to ACT 4 before you can do the final 3 pit fights. If you aren’t there keep playing.
Dan A says
I just kept playing the pits and it eventually unlocked. Was at act 4, that trophy was slightly buggy for me.
Pbacon says
Hey great guide! Just one tip for the Wild Things trophy, you can find a random graug and dominate him, and then summon a drake. This makes it so the drake won’t flee at 50% health, and you won’t have to worry about it landing.
Deathswarning says
Hello I think I stumbled on to a way to keep a 100% xp boost up I got to act 4 at level 50 & set out to grind out the last 10 levels in Minas Morgul I was popping the Xp boosts & when they ran out I putting on a next when the game lost connection to the server so I had no market or online they was just locked but the Xperia boost lasted for 9 hours befor I maxed out
BodyChipper says
I can confirm with 99.9% certainty that any beasts ridden within a shadow age mission counts towards Rough Rider. I haven’t even travelled to the area with fire graugs yet, but I rode one in a Celebrimbor mission once. I found and rode an ice graug that was hiding in a cave with a Gondor artifact (easy find for me) and the trophy popped at that point. If there is another mission where you might ride an ice graug, this could be the easiest way to get these two.
Chesterfield says
Great guide, lots of thanks to PP.
I am at 95% now, looking to finish up a brand spanking Plat by tomorrow or during the weekend.
One addition addition to the guide would be that if you keep a lookout for the marked orcs and keep picking up everything it’s quite possible to get “Master Forger” well before the end of the story. I didn’t even understand the system until a number of hours in, and I got the trophy about halfway into Act II. So that should be a post-game grind if and only if it’s been neglected during the main run.
My second comment is that I I thought I had Ice and Poison Graugs left but had done all the others for “Wild Things”. Went to Nurnen, found a poison Graug and the trophy popped. I knew I had seen an Ice Graug but never managed to mount it befoer the orcs killed it. I don’t remember if there was one in a story mission, or if I had just tamed an Ice Graug without noticing. Next time I went to Sergegost, naturally an Ice Graug turned up so I tamed it and rode it just to have done it, despite having the trophy 🙂
AgentArachnid says
Could you combine Blood on Blood, Overkill and Death is not the End?
Lochblade says
I combined Blood on Blood and Overkill, but wasn’t far enough in game to do Death is not the end. I also believe that the manner of death may have play a part as well, for example Ologs tend to decapitate when finishing opponents and destroyers may occasionally tackle and blow their opponents to smithereens.
Lee says
Power couple wont work for me. I sent one of orcs on a mission and then reinforced him but nothing popped am i doing it wrong? I also played the mission as well and nothing happened.
Lochblade says
I’ve had a similar issue, it may have been because of choosing the wrong captain when starting the mission or something else. I believe I sent two captains to ambush another captain doing a trial by ordeal, that didn’t work. The one that worked, I chose my capt to kill an enemy capt, then chose another capt to work that nemesis mission as well by highlighting the capt I sent to kill the enemy, this pop up window should say reinforce, if it says ambush something is wrong.

Hi , great guide as always! I have a question tough, about the If you can’t beat them trophy.
If I let a captain kill me 3 times, and now he’s level 44 and I’m level 42 , I can low his level by shame and then recruit him ? This will still count ?

Do I need to have some special feauture active??
That’s the last missing trophy – please help me.
Quink says
Been trying to get killed 16 times now and always get saved. tried changing region and difficulty and it doesnt matter. this trophy is impossible due to rng. Haven event been able to get killed once and ive spent over 8 hours doing this fucking trophy….
Lochblade says
I found an easier way to do trolling, because it tends to take forever to pull off properly. This works best in Nurnen due to the speed at which you level vs the enemies leveling up, near the end of Act 3 your character may be in the mid 40s while the enemies are returning at level 15 to 20. Take an Olog captain and power level him, ie lose to him and make him your level, or multiple death threats. When he is barely under your level, recruit him and make him your bodyguard. Choose a target that your bodyguard can kill easily enough without help or shame a target to extremely low level, a worse than death shame can take some of these early captains down to level 5 and under. Now summon the bodyguard near the target and bad boss him into betrayal (hit him until he fights back). You can ride Olog captains and kill other captains to get this trophy as well, and with the significant level gap, each hit will do massive damage making it far easier to kill the target. Olog captains are better for riding, better damage overall, longer ride time, easier to ride (just leave them at broken health range, dodge behind and climb back up) and nearly impossible to kill while riding.
Darth Mog says
This is years late, but thanks for the advice. That’s definitely easier than using a regular Olog, which i tried. I did this with a twist: I did the “Everything is Permitted” trophy first. I had an enemy captain assassin at level 1 after that. Then I recruited an Olog captain as my bodyguard, but even better: he had the “Soft-Headed” vulnerability. This allows you to Daze him with one headshot and he doesn’t turn hostile either. Level him up with training commands. Take him to the enemy captain location. Maybe pin him with an arrow. Call bodyguard, shoot in head, mount, and you know the rest.

Thanks! Seems they made it a bit easier. They removed the special coins and the extra exp features. But the gems work fine and there is a 3% exp bonus. Tip: keep recruiting all the captains you defeat. And for the online ranking trophy it helped to do online conquests. It gave me 100 ranking each conquest. I did have a team of lvl 50+.
Total time 28 hours. Could have been shorter, had some troubles at the end to figure out the online ranking.

Hello, I was wondering if the Online trophies are still achievable now that the servers are down.
Amr Soliman says
It is achievable
I just got the online trophy and the platinum
Just pick powerful captains for both offence and defence squads with best bonuses

Great job! Do you need PS + subscription for the online trophies? Thank you.
