Introduction
Welcome to the Project Cars 2 Trophy Guide! Compared to other racing simulators this is relatively easy and short platinum. Except for the 200-lap Indy 500 Race it’s not too tedious and most trophies come naturally through career progress. The first thing you should do is head to the gameplay options and enable all driving assistance and HUD options. This will make the handling a lot easier. Playing with authentic handling is very challenging and you have almost no control over your car on icy tracks. Even with all assistance options enabled the handling takes a while to get used to. There are also some fine-tuning options before every race to adjust the cars according to your playstyle.
Step 1: Career Playthrough
For the career you will want to start with a tier 6 motorsport. Then move on to tier 5 > tier 4 > tier 3 > tier 2 > tier 1. This will earn you the gold trophy “Zero to Hero”. Also try to do one motosport of each type along the way for trophy “Diversity”. However, if you miss a motosport type it’s no problem because you can access and replay all events after beating a tier 1 event.
A lot of the trophies are tied to progress in the career. Invitational Events / Manufacturer Affinity Events also happen over time through career progress.
In the career you should set the opponents to the lowest difficulty and the amount of rounds per race to the lowest number (usually 2, you can set this before every race). Furthermore, every career motorsport has a “full” and “short” playlist. After choosing the motorsport class, press / to switch to the short version. This way you can skip a lot of races entirely and save a ton of time towards platinum. Also disable the qualification rounds for every event. All of these things combined will make the career much quicker to complete. If you fall too far behind in a race, restart it immediately. This is especially important during the first races of every season. If you get a difficult event later on (e.g. on icy track) it won’t be a big deal if you place 4th or lower in that event as long as your overall score is the highest for that season.
Just concentrate on placing first in every season, go through the different tiers and you will earn the bulk of trophies automatically without even worrying about them.
After beating the career (beat a tier 1 event) you can replay any and all events as often as you want to mop up missing trophies.
Step 2: Quickplay
There are a bunch of miscellaneous trophies that can be done through quickplay. This includes completing the Nordschleife in under 8 minutes with Snowy weather, or Fuji in 2 minutes during a Storm. Just take a look at the trophy list after the career and do what you’re missing through quickplay.
Step 3: Online
Now that everything else is done, you only have to focus on getting the racing licenses. You have to complete 350 online races for the veteran license (the highest), either solo or you can do it with a friend. As long as you don’t get a DNF you will be fine, any podium position will suffice. You will unlock every license trophy while going for the veteran license.

One More For The Road Earned all other trophies |
||
Earn all other Project Cars 2 Trophies to unlock Platinum (DLC not required).
This Is The Start Created a new driver in Career and signed your first contract |
||
From the title screen go to Career → New Driver. Enter the first name, last name, initials and county for your driver and accept.
I’m Seasoned Completed the first season |
||
This can be done in the career. Select any motorsport. For example, the tier 6 season called “Formula Rookie”. Complete any season and this will unlock.
Get That Dirt Off Your Shoulder Successfully completed a Rallycross season |
||
The rallycross seasons are located at the very bottom of the career page. There are 4 of them and you just have to win one of them in order to get this trophy. To make this as short as possible, follow the instructions for the trophy “Best Indy World”.
Best Indy World Became an Indycar Champion |
||
This is earned in career mode, for completing the Tier 1 motorsport called “IndyCar”. It’s at the very top of the Tier 1 event list.
Playing the short version is enough. After selecting the IndyCar motosport, you can press / to switch to the short version with only 4 races. Also set the opponents to the lowest difficulty to make this easier. Before each event, set the amount of laps to the lowest number to save time. The first and last event are the hardest. The second and third are relatively easy to win. |
||
Invite Only Unlocked your first Career Invitational Event |
||
See trophy “Mr Popular“.
Mr Popular Completed 10 Career Invitational Events |
||
Invitational Events happen as you win races / seasons in the career. Simply win lots of different motorsport seasons and you’ll unlock more and more invitational events. There are 43 invitational events in total (11 historic, 7 track special, 7 low grip, 9 road, 9 supercar).
When unlocking such an event you’ll be notified via the career’s email function. To check available events and play them, go to the career home screen → press to switch to “Invitational Events”. This is the screen before selecting a motorsport season to play. |
||
Accoladed Earned your first Career Accolade |
||
Win a motorsport season in career mode to unlock this. For example, complete the “Formula Rookie” tier 6 championship to unlock this.
Winter Soldier Drove a clean lap around the Nordschleife in the snow, in less than 8 minutes |
||
For this you must finish a clean lap (preferably solo without opponents) on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with weather condition “Snow” in under 8 minutes.
Accept to start the race. In the tuning options you can leave everything at the default values, no need to change anything there. Luckily, there’s no snow on the actual road when you pick summer as the season. There’s just some snow in the air. There’s no difference in handling, it’s like driving on a sunny summer day. Focus on driving safely rather than being fast. If the trophy does not unlock for you, try reinstalling the game and playing without a patch (version 1.00). There are reports of players being unable to earn this trophy with patch 1.01 installed (for me it worked fine with the patch). |
||
Advanced Experience Completed an event in a Mercedes car at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Events Ice Track 2 |
||
Quickplay → Custom Race → Track: Mercedes-Benz Ice Track → press , , select Ice Track 2. Now choose any car from the manufacturer Mercedes. Set the event to one round and 0 opponents. Simply drive one lap to finish the event.
Hunting For Grip Drove a clean lap around Fuji in Storm conditions, in a time less than 2 minutes |
||
For this you must finish a clean lap (preferably solo without opponents) on Fuji GP with weather condition “Storm” in under 2 minutes.
Accept to start the race. In the tuning options you can leave everything at the default values, no need to change anything there. It will be raining and there’s a lot of water on the road, making handling a bit trickier. The Formula X is very fast so it’s not too difficult to do. On the 1st lap you’ll start slow, but at the end of the lap you can drive through the goal at full speed to save a few seconds for the 2nd lap. |
||
No Man’s Fly Did a Rallycross jump longer than 20 metres |
||
Head over to custom events and select the track “Daytona International Speedway Rallycross” and select a suitable Rallycross vehicle. For this go over to vehicle select, press and now select a vehicle from one of these groups: Group 5, Group A, TC1 or RXLites. It’s recommended that you use the RXLites as they are the most suitable ones for Rallycross, but it’s up to you what car you want to try it with.
There is only one big dirt ramp on the track and you have to reach a speed of at least 125-130km/h (78-80 mp/h) in order to jump at least 20 metres. You should also disable the AI opponents if they are in your way. Note: if this trophy doesn’t unlock you should do it in career mode. There are player reports that it unlocked fine in career mode but not in quickplay! |
||
All Year Round Completed a race around a single circuit in all 4 seasons |
||
Quickplay → Custom Race → Race Settings → Season: pick one season (spring, summer, autumn, winter). Now choose a fast track, for example Texas Motor Speedway. Set it to one lap only and disable opponents. Complete your one lap to finish the event. Then change the season and repeat the SAME track. You have to drive on the same track in 4 different seasons, it can’t be different tracks.
Diversity Completed a Championship in every Motorsport discipline within Career |
||
This trophy is done in career mode. You can still replay every type of event after beating tier 1. Normally, when you move on to the next tier, the events from previous tiers get locked. However, after beating the career you can access all motorsport tiers again to play any event you want.
Beat a motorsport each motosport event to earn this. Keep in mind you can set the opponents to the lowest difficulty. Furthermore, you can press / after selecting a motosport to switch between the short version and full version. The short version has fewer races and makes this trophy quicker to obtain. |
||
The Milk Man Won a full distance (200 Laps) Indy 500 race |
||
For this trophy you have to win a 200 lap Indy 500 race. Go to custom games, set the race for 200 laps, set 1 opponent (adjust all the sliders to 0/100), select the Formula X car (as it is the fastest for this type of race) and select the track “Indianapolis” (this one is confirmed to work, for us “Texas” also worked when the game released but there have since been reports that it didn’t unlock the trophy for some players — it’s best to stick with Indianapolis). Now simply win the race against the brain dead bot to unlock your trophy.
Be warned though. Even though nindy oval lap on most tracks only takes between 30-50 seconds, you’ll have to complete 200 of them. That means that you’ll be driving for about 100mins-2,5 hours, so make sure you don’t have anything planned before you attempt this. |
||
Viva Ferrari Drove 4 Ferrari cars, around Imola |
||
Quickplay → Custom Race → Track: Imola → Car: Ferrari (any) → Race Settings → Laps: 1.
Now simple drive one lap around Imola. After finishing the race, pick a different Ferrari car and repeat. Do this with 4 different Ferrari cars, always driving a one-lap race. You can disable the opponents for this. |
||
Car Zero Raced for 4 laps in the Lamborghini Veneno around Red Bull Ring GP |
||
Quickplay → Custom Race → Track: Red Bull Ring GP → Car: Lamborghini Veneno → Race Settings → Laps: 4.
Just complete the 4-lap race with the Lamborghini Veneno. You can disable opponents for this entirely. Just complete the race, doesn’t matter how long you take. |
||
Straight Six Drove a Porsche 911 GT1-98 at 24 Hours of Le Mans Circuit for 24 minutes at 60x time progression. |
||
Quickplay → Custom Race → Track: Le Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans Circuit) → Car: Porsche 911 GT1-98 → Race Settings → Duration Time: 25 minutes → Time Progression: x60.
Now just stand there for 24 minutes and complete the lap afterwards. The trophy only pops after completing the lap! Even after the 25 minute timer runs out to zero it won’t just quit the match, you have to complete the lap to end it. You can disable opponents for this. |
||
Snap Snap Snap Taken a photo in photo mode |
||
To take a photo, pause the game during a race (press Options-Button). Scroll down to the menu “Photo Mode”. Press to take a photo and earn the trophy.
Strategic Mind Created a pit strategy and then used it when coming into the pits |
||
To get this trophy you simply have to create a custom pit strategy before the race and then use it in the race. To make sure that your custom strategy is the one you are currently using, make sure you select it after saving it. You can see a yellow tick on the right side of the strategy name, showing you which one is currently active. The trophy will unlock as soon as you enter your pit and the mechanics start to work on your car.
Furthermore make sure that you go to the Options Menu → Gameplay → Authenticy and that you enable “manual pit stop”. Now press to switch over to the onscreen guides & display options. Here you want to enable the pit stop Visual Cue, to make sure that your own pit is highlighted when you enter the pit lane. This will also unlock you the “Manual All The Way” trophy. The trophy will unlock as soon as you exit the pit lane. Head over to the custom race section in the main menu and use the following settings:
|
||
One-Man Show Used 3 different custom car setups for a single car |
||
Simply save 3 different car setups for a single car. You can slightly change the tire pressure every time and save it as a new setup. The trophy will unlock as soon as you saved your third setup.
Results Are In, You’re Clean! Finished 1st in an online race over 5 laps without making contact |
||
For this trophy you have to win an online race with at least 5 rounds without getting a penalty for crashing / going off track.
This can be done solo with the following settings: Race type: 5 laps Now simply win the qualifier + race without crashing and you should get the trophy. If it doesn’t unlock for you, try to increase the amount of laps to 10, 15, 20 or 25. If that doesn’t work for you either, you should try the same strategy against a human player. |
||
Done One Online Completed your first online race |
||
Simply finish one public or private online race in any position. You can invite a friend to a private race for this.
Gimme 50! Earned 50 Accolades |
||
Accolades are earned in the career. From the career home screen (before selecting a motorsport season), press R1 to scroll to the menu “Progress & Settings”. Here you can view all accolades, how to get them and which ones you have obtained.
There are 160 accolades total. Getting 50 will come naturally as you complete all motorsport seasons in the career. Every motorsport season you win gives an accolade. Winning affinity events and invitational events also gives accolades. They are just progression based stuff that will unlock automatically over time. |
||
Raving Rookie Earned your Rookie License |

You will unlock the Amatuer license after 50, Pro- Am license after 100 and the Pro license at 200 completed races. You can either self-boost this or do it with a friend. The race counts as long as both players complete it, so try to avoid DNF’s. Use the following settings when boosting these trophies:
Race type: 1 laps |
||
Zero to Hero Completed the Zero to Hero lifetime goal (start in Tier 6 and go on to win a Tier 1 Championship) |
||
In the career, start by selecting a tier 6 motorsport event. For example, the one called “Formula Rookie”. Then jump from tier to tier. Start with tier 6 → tier 5 → tier 4 → tier 3 → tier 2 → tier 1. After winning a season in tier 1 you will earn this trophy.
After selecting a motosport, press L1/R1 to switch from the full season to the short one. This will make it much faster to progress through the tiers. At tier 1 there are 5 motosport events to choose from. On the lowest difficulty this won’t be too bad. Remember you can enable driving assistance in the gameplay options if you have trouble with the handling. |
||
Twice At The Top Won two different Tier 1 Motorsports |
||
This is done in the career. First of all, you will have ot unlock Tier 1 Motorsport events by winning championship seasons in lower tiers. You can set the opponents to lowest difficulty and play the short seasons. After selecting a motosport, press / to switch from the full season to the short one. This will make it much faster to progress through the tiers.

Factory Driver Completed the Factory Drives set of events for a single manufacturer |
||
Once you’ve become a brand advocate for a manufacturer, you unlock 3 new events that you can complete for them. They are all standard races and you just have to make sure to win them. They’ll be around 5-15 minutes long, depending on the manufacturer. You can check your manufacturer progress in your career menu under “manufacturer drives”.

||
See trophy “Strategic Mind“.
What’s Yours Is Mine Saved a car setup received from a friend |
||
*GLITCHED TROPHY*
This trophy won’t unlock if you have more than 100 players in your friends list. So you can either delete enough of your friends to get below 100 or you have to delete the friend you are boosting this trophy with and add him back. The friends list will then be able to recognize him in-game. You have to make sure that you delete your friend and add him back before trying it. If you deleted and added him while playing Project Cars, close the application and launch it again just to make sure that it updated. You should now be able to unlock the trophy normally. Simply host a private online race and invite your friend. Make sure you both pick the same car. Now start the match and go to the setup settings menu. Here you have to create a custom setup for your car and save it. Click on the share option on the right side and save the setup again. You now have to select your friend and send it to him. He simply has to go to the “received” tab in the share menu and save the setup he just got from you. The trophy should unlock as soon as you did all that. |
||
I’m Just Here To Watch Joined an in-progress online race as a spectator |
||
Quickplay → Browser Online → Pick a race that has lots of laps remaining. You can see the amount of remaining laps on the right side. Join such session, click “Vote to Start” and it should automatically put you as a spectator.
You should not pick races that have “time remaining” as it will make you start in the pit and not as spectator. |
||
The Director Used the Director mode for a full race |
||
Can be done in a private online match with a friend. The person who is hosting the game can make the 2nd player the director (a movie slate icon will show up next to that person’s ID). Upon starting the race, one person will be driving and the other will only be watching in a special “director mode”.
Complete a very quick 2 lap race, e.g. on the track “Texas Motor Speedway” while the director is watching. It has to be a full race for it to count. Afterwards the person hosting the match can make themself the director and the other person will be driving while the host is watching. |
||
May I Ask You Something Used the Race Engineer in Tuning Setup and made changes based off their recommendation. |
||
After loading up a race, click on the Tuning Setup → Race Engineer. Talk to the engineer and let him make a change to any category. For example, choose the category “braking” and exhaust all dialogue options to let the engineer change something for you.
Safety First Earnt a B Online Reputation Safety Grade. |
||
This is best done in a private race with 2 players. Invite a friend to a private online race. Drive on an easy oval track such as “Texas Motor Speedway”. Set the race to 5 laps total. One player can simply park in the pit stop and let the other player win the race. The one who wins isn’t allowed to scratch their car (don’t drive into your friend’s car and don’t drive off the track).
I Want To Know Your Secret Downloaded another players setup from within Time Trial. |
||
Head over to the “Community” menu and select “Time-Trial”. Click on add ghost on the left side and then press R1 and L1 to update the top page. Now pick the ghost of anyone on the leaderboards who has a grey wrench icon under “Tuning Setup” (during ghost select, press to navigate to the leaderboard). After launching the time trial (before starting the race), you’ll be in the setup screen. Click and press to check the ghost setup you copied a minute ago. Simply save the new setup and the trophy will unlock.
Rest On Your Laurels Won your first Championship. |
||
This is earned in career mode for placing 1st in a motorsport championship. For example, win the tier 6 championship called “Forumla Rookie”. |
Sumsum says
I cannot get the “whats yours is mine” trophy to work whatsoever. I have both saved, applied and also edited a friends setup but still dont, but my friend got it first time. We have tried with many differnt cars and also tracks but still wont work.
PowerPyx says
Same here.
I tried with a friend yesterday and it didn’t unlock for either of us.
I suspect it could have something to do with the amount of friends on your list. There have been games in the past (even big ones like Call of Duty) where it only recognized 100 people on the friends list. So my theory is that having more than 100 friends messes with the tracking in this game. Going to test on a dummy account later today with only 1 person on my list. Somehow it doesn’t seem to recognize that it’s a friend sending the tuning setup and counts them as a random stranger.
PowerPyx says
Quick follow-up.
As suspected, the issue is caused by having too many friends.
There is an easy fix, however! Quit the game. Then delete your friend and add them back. Then both players boot up the game again (AFTER they have added each other). Then the game recognizes you two as friends and the trophy should unlock.
Go to a private online race, create a tuning setup, save the setup, click on share on the right side of tuning, send the setup to your friend, have them download the setup and save it in a new slot, trophy unlocked.
Sumsum says
Will give this a go later ill tell you if it worked 🙂
SUBOmania says
What do i have to do for the Safety first trophy?
I played a couple online races with and without friends but i have the u1500 ra. I have no idea!
PS.
Thanks for the guide. You are awsome!!!!
PowerPyx says
Still looking into it, more info will be added soon.
I suspect it’s for playing a lot of online races without crashing into opponents. Drive safely, stay on the road and don’t damage opponent’s cars. That’s just my best guess at the moment. Haven’t seen the security reputation displayed anywhere in the stats. Probably takes a lot of races.
R3DLNR says
Easily done while boosting with another player just setup an online race with say 50 laps on a short track, use a fast car. You go up to the next grade after anywhere from 80-130ish (roughly) laps. Grades go from U-F-E-D-C-B-A-S as far as I can see. So you need to go thru 5 grades to get the b rating. Probably took about 3 hours to earn
mitch says
No mans fly trophy must be glitched..tried over and over.i have latest patch installed..pretty sure im jumping well over 20m.
Any suggestions ? Thanks
Sumsum says
Same tried for an hour cant get it.
mitch says
Got it ! needs to be done in a carrer event..not via quick play.

I went on the hell rallycross track (called something else in the game), think I was doing practice, there is a jump just before the finish line, went the wrong way around the joker and hit it in reverse in an rx lite. Thought I’d give it a go and it worked lol.
R3DLNR says
Use a red bull vehicle, apparently they come with wings ?
MARRONEY_BR says
Cream Of The Croop just glitched to me. Won all 3 events for BWM, Lamborghini and McLaren but it doesn’t unlocked!
R3DLNR says
I had the same issue mate. I finished my first set of events for Honda and didn’t get the ‘factory driver’ trophy. I then did the Ford set and then received factory driver trophy so I guess Honda didn’t count. I then completed the Porsche events which technically would have been my third and no trophy. Have just completed the nissan events and just received my trophy. So id just recommend doing another set of events ☺
On a similar note it took me 11 career invitational event wins for the ‘Mr popular’ trophy so it must have the same issue…
David says
For the triple crown all I need is the le mans 24 but do I really have to play 2 hours 15 on the tier one endurance race? Also all other races are locked
David says
I also went custom race 200 laps indianapolis for the milk man trophy but the race ended for no reason on exactly 120 laps. 1 hour 37 minutes wasted
R3DLNR says
For me i earned that when i went for the ‘straight 6’ trophy by following this trophy guide
R3DLNR says
No idea what happened on your milkman run? Unless it wasn’t set up for 200 laps properly. Did you race it yourself or swap drivers with the AI?
David says
Yeah it was all set up correctly but it just randomly booted me off the race and into last place.
I how have the trophy so it’s all good
Couldn't Think of One says
How do I find a Indy 500 race to compete in (for “Triple Crown”)? I’ve won the Tier 1 Indycar Championship, but “Triple Crown” did not unlock (and I’ve won both the Azure Circuit Grand Prix and the LeMans 24h races).
jorge says

Results are in, you’re clean trophy.
This can be boosted solo along with licences and safety B trophy.
Track texas motor speedway
5 laps
Qualifier 5 minutes
Private, rules competitive racing licence (on)
Opponents max grid 3, human 1, fill AI on.
Change to 1 lap if you’re boosting solo for the seem it all trophy veteran licence or change track to knockhill tri-oval if boosting with a friend
DAzRA2010 says
u say change to 1 lap if running solo, but what about qualifying, do u still have to endure 5 mins of that????
Hope says
Hi, with regard to boosting alone/solo; i have tried all the steps however I could not get vote to start and could not race. Still saying waiting for player(s) to join. What am i doing wrong, any ideas? Thanks.
rhian says
Hi,
you need to have qualifying. Without it stays on waiting for players to join. With qualifying you can say you’re ready and it starts.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do online races with AI only, but without qualifying? With qualifying on there’s an AI ‘player’ joining, but without no AI joining.
Ali says
can you let me know which one is Discipline in career for Diversity? I finished more than 14 motorsports but I havnt got that yet!
Winter Soldier and What’s Yours Is Mine is glitched for me.

Any one need boost txt me pls. PSN: photojourn

Ali says
I got Diversity but I still wondering how many race I need to finish for all those licences? and glitch trophies?! Winter Soldier and What’s Yours Is Mine
Sugrue-lonewolf says
Online races only for licences.
50 races for amateur
100 races for pro am
200 for pro
350 for veteran
CountKarloff says
Maybe author meant at the beginning that players should skip all Practices. Skipping Qualifying sessions would put player dead last for every race.
“The Milk Man”
To my experience it’s not true that player can select ANY oval track. Seems that it has to be exactly Indianapolis. At least didn’t get it on full 200 laps at Texas.
“Safety First”
Has wrong solution. Provided instructions are for “Results Are In, You’re Clean!”. “Safety First” is about earning B safety grade (requires about 25 clean races). Also ideal settings for this differ from “Results Are In…” setup.
PowerPyx says
Hi CountKarloff, thanks for sharing your knowledge and helping to make the guide better 🙂
Skipping the Qualifier: is recommended to save time (Roadmap Step 1). If you struggle with a race you can play the qualifier, but if you’re feeling confident it’s better to skip them and you can still win the race. It could save a lot of time.
The Milk Man: that’s how it was at launch. I’m not sure if anything changed that. Doing it on Texas track worked for my co-author Jeanmi96. If that didn’t unlock it, then could either have been an unlucky glitch or they destroyed it with a patch. I’ve added a note about your report and set it to Indianapolis is now recommended and Texas worked for us but is no longer recommended.
Safety first: no freaking idea how this got switched up and how nobody noticed in almost a year o_O. Thanks for pointing that out, I’m seeing the same issue and put those descriptions where they belong.
Thanks again, we appreciate it! =)
