Introduction
Welcome to the Life is Strange: True Colors Trophy Guide! For the Platinum, all you need to do is find the 25 Memory Collectibles and complete the 4 Side Quests. There is one trophy for each Memory Collectible and one for each Side Quest. The rest of the trophies are automatic unlocks for beating the 5 Chapters. Each Chapter takes around 2-3 hours. Nothing is missable, thanks to Chapter Select. The cutscenes are unskippable in this game. About half the game is cutscenes and the other half is gameplay. There is no save game transfer from PS4 to PS5. So if you want both platinums, you need to replay the game a second time with the other console version.
Step 1: Get All 25 Memory Collectibles & 4 Side Quests
There’s really only one step to this Platinum. Complete the game, collect all Memory Collectibles and complete all Side Quests along the way. That’s it. Refer to the Life is Strange True Colors Collectible Guide for more information.
None of the Memory Collectibles or Side Quests are missable! Your choices do not affect them. You always end up in the same areas regardless. Play the game however you want. Once you get close to a Memory or Side Quest a white circle will appear. To interact with it, you need to use Alex’s power by holding and then .
If you forget a Memory Collectible or Side Quest, you can get it via Chapter Select from the Main Menu after finishing the Chapter. There’s no need to replay the entire Chapter. You can just pick the Scene you need, grab the Collectible / complete the Side Quest and then exit back to Main Menu. Chapter Select shows exactly how many Memory Collectibles there are in each Scene and how many you’ve found. This way you immediately know in which scene there’s one remaining.

*ONLINE TROPHY*
The trophy for finding all 25 Memories only unlocks if you’re playing online, connected to PSN. If you are playing offline it’s unobtainable. All other trophies can be earned offline. You just need to be signed into PSN before the final Memory, it’s okay to collect the first 24 offline. If you’re signed into PSN there are no additional steps to take, your choices will then automatically sync with the Life is Strange servers in the background. There is no specific “Online” option you can enable, it’s not a selectable game mode or menu toggle. This particular trophy pulls your “choices” progress from the online servers and isn’t being tracked offline at all, that’s why it requires being connected to PSN Servers. |
PhantomFear94 says
Just to confirm, on Xbox the 1000/1000G IS obtainable. 4 people already have it. The bugged trophies seem to be a PS4/5 issue only. I’m sure it’ll be patched soon.
PowerPyx says
I figured out the issue.
The problem is that the last collectible trophy requires connection to the online servers so that it can upload your choices. Everything else pops offline. So it is obtainable, but Platinum is Online Only.
I’ve updated this in the guide.
G1pp0ne says
Thanks for a great guide once again! One question: it is better to not pick up all collectibles (maybe leave just one to collect) and wait a patch for the bugged trophy?
PowerPyx says
The issue was apparently that it wouldn’t unlock offline. You must connect to the Life is Strange servers (play online) so that it can upload your choices before picking up the last Collectible, then it unlocks just fine.
Extremely odd way of tracking trophies, but at least it’s obtainable. The guide has been updated accordingly.
Mark says
List is full of collectibles trophys, but the trophy for finding everything is broken. Funny)
PowerPyx says
An earlier version of this guide stated that platinum is unobtainable. However, it’s only unobtainable when playing offline.
You have to be online for trophy “Haven Historian” (having found all collectibles). It apparently keeps track of it through your “decisions” which get uploaded to the online servers.
They set this up in a real weird way. All individual trophies & Chapter Collectible trophies unlock offline. Just the one for finding ALL of them is online-only. Thus, platinum is also online only.
Castamere says
I played whilst online and Haven Historian still didn’t go off.
PowerPyx says
Try rebooting the game / console, then collecting ANY of the memories again. This worked for a friend of mine to unlock it. I guess your choices didn’t upload to the servers correctly (server issue). But they update instantly when picking up memories again.
if says
Powerpyx, I’m not on the last episode yet but my choice world percentages aren’t uploading to the servers at all. A lot of people with the same issue on reddit didn’t get the platinum and haven historian despite being logged into PSN.
PowerPyx says
I’m thinking this *might* be server issues due to many people playing on the release weekend. Almost always server problems with any game at launch.
Best bet is to wait a few days and try it again during the week at a time when not as many people are playing.
Youssef Malaak says
Is there a save transfer option from PS4 to PS5, and if so, do trophies auto-pop on PS5?
Thanks in advance ?
PowerPyx says
No save transfer / no auto-pop (this is also mentioned in the Introduction of the Roadmap).
Deluziion90 says
Thanks for the guide. Regarding being online do you mean online on PSN or square enix? I can’t seem to find an option to connect to anything.
PowerPyx says
Being online means being signed into PSN.
It uploads all your decisions automatically in the background. It’s a feature meant to let you see what decisions your friends picked (it shows friend’s choices after each Chapter or in Main Menu under Friend Decisions).
If it gives you an error after a chapter, saying that it can’t sync your choices because you’re offline, you know it’s not working. If there’s no error in the choices overview after a chapter, it means you’re online and your choices are being uploaded correctly.
If you’re signed into PSN there are no additional steps to take.
There is no specific “Online” option you can enable, it’s not a selectable game mode or menu toggle. If you’re signed into PSN, you are “online” in LiS automatically and your choices are uploaded to the LiS servers in the background as you play.
Jack Walker says
Hi powerpyx! Amazing guide as per usual keep up the great work!
Was just wondering if I buy the PS4 version of the game disc based do you get the ps5 version for free or does this only work for digital games?
if says
Is anyone else unable to see the world choice percentages after chapters and connect to the servers in the menu even though they’re online? I’m worried this might glitch Haven Historian for me
Michael Cameron says
Same. It’s really pissing me off because Haven Historian is the only trophy that needs to unlock in order for me to get the platinum.
As far as connecting to the servers, are we supposed to have a prompt to do so? I got a message to connect to the Life Is Strange servers the first time I started the game, but nothing since. I was told that you automatically connect to the servers if you’re online when you play. Is that not true?
PowerPyx says
It automatically connects you to the servers, there’s no prompt at all. But if the servers are down/overloaded I guess it just doesn’t say anything and stops uploading your saves.
The funniest thing is, this plat will become completely unobtainable when they shut down the servers in a few years from now. Why they tied a singleplayer trophy to online servers, when everything else pops offline just fine, is a big mystery to me :D
Michael Cameron’s says
I’m online and the Haven Historian trophy didn’t unlock. I then tried rebooting the game and system as recommended and it still didn’t unlock. Are we sure when they say online they don’t mean to the Life Is Strange servers?
John says
Haven Historian unlocked for me but not the trophy for completing Chapter 5. And that’s the last one needed for the platinum.
Jack Walker says
Same here mate, have you managed to unlock it or found a solution?
4ipuxa says
Playing a Ps4 and Ps5 versions on Ps5 to get double plat.
Ps4 version keeps crashing on the final Conversation with the Spirit of Gabe, platinum unobtainable, dont know if the recent patch is the reason.
Didnt complete the Ps5 version so no clue if the same issue exists.
Asher M Collazo says
Same problem here stuck at 98 percent so frustrating
jelly says
is this already fixed?
Nikki_boagreis says
If your online, then you would already be on the dev’s servers as soon as you start the game. I didn’t play unless i had an Internet connection because of this exact reason, Haven Historian. You can get all memorys when playing without an Internet connection, but you must be on PSN when you get the last one otherwise the trophy won’t unlock. As long as your on PSN when you start the game then you’ll be on the dev’s servers.
Unless they update the game and make it so you don’t need to be on their servers, if the servers shutdown then the platinum would be unobtainable. Most episodic games have an online leaderboard that show the most common choice after each chapter. Pretty sure the Haven Historian trophy pops on the results screen after getting the last memory. That’s why you have to be on PSN and connected to the dev’s servers otherwise the results screen won’t be available. The results screen is only available after each chapter if your on PSN.
Dean says
Can I get 2 platinums here? I know there isn’t any save transfer or auto pop but I’m willing to play through the game twice anyway for a PS4 and PS4 platinum.
Dinu says
Does it still need a online connection for the last collectable trophy ?
Mosleh says
I’m connected to internet and I’m signed in to my psn but when i lunch the game it doesn’t connect to network help me
