Introduction
Welcome to the Resident Evil 8 Village Trophy Guide (aka Resident Evil Village / Resident Evil 8 / RE8). This is a relatively quick platinum. The story trophies can be done in 10-15 Hours and are a 4/10 difficulty, thanks to Infinite Ammo Cheats and very forgiving Speedrun requirements. The more difficult part is Mercenaries Mode. After the first playthrough you gain access to the Extra Content Shop. There you can activate Infinite Ammo and Mercenaries Mode. The game uses 2 currency systems: Lei which you get from enemies and selling treaures, it’s used to buy story items from the Duke Merchant. CP (Completion Points) are a currency unlocked after the story from doing in-game Challenges, it’s used to buy Infinite Ammo and to unlock some new weapons. The best way to approach platinum is do start on easy while finding all Collectibles, then do a Knife-Only Speedrun, then the hardest difficulty Village of Shadows and then Mercenaries Mode.
Step 1: Casual (Easy) Difficulty Playthrough & Collectibles [6-10 Hours]
Start the game on Casual (Easy) difficulty or Standard (Normal) and follow the All-in-One Collectible Guide along the way. Don’t worry about other trophies for now, just focus on Collectibles.
» Resident Evil 8 Village All Collectible Locations
Keep a Manual Save from each Location in the game. You have 20 Manual Save Slots in total. There is no Chapter Select or Free Roam after the story but you can reload a Manual Save to go back if you missed a trophy.
Also save up your Lei (money). The only things you should purchase on your 1st run are Inventory Upgrades and Crafting Recipes. Don’t waste money on anything else (don’t buy Customizable Weapon Parts either)! You should save up 2.1 Million Lei to fully upgrade the S.T.A.K.E. Magnum for your Village of Shadows playthrough. If you spend money on other things now you might be forced to do a 4th playthrough just to make up for the wasted money.
After finishing the story it will ask if you want to save your completed game. Make sure you do this, you must then load this save from the Main Menu to start New Game+ (all your money, inventory, weapons, upgrades, collectibles progress carries over). After the story also take a look what miscellaneous trophies you are missing, it would now be a good time to reload manual saves to go back and quickly mop up most of these.

Step 2: Extra Content Shop Trophies
After the first playthrough you get access to the Extra Content Shop (Main Menu > Bonuses > Extra Content Shop). For the two trophies Doll Collector & Art Collector you must buy and view all Character Models, Weapon Models, Concept Art.
Step 3: Casual (Easy) Difficulty Playthrough & Knive Only & 3 Hour Speedrun & Less Than 4 Healing Items & Spending less than 10,000 Lei [2-3 Hours]
You can combine a bunch of trophies together in one Knife Only Speedrun. Before you start, unlock the Karambit Knife from the Extra Content Shop. It deals much more damage than the default knife. You can then buy it from the merchant for 200 Lei. Best way is to reload your manual save before final boss, buy it from merchant there, defeat endboss again, create completed story save, load save from Main Menu to start New Game+ with Karambit Knife in your inventory from the start. Alternatively, you can buy it from the first merchant in your new playthrough. The 3 hour time limit is very forgiving, you should be able to do it in less than 2.5 hours without any trouble on the first attempt. Pausing the game stops the timer and you can reload a previous Manual Save if you think you took too long. If you need a refresher on Puzzle Solutions to save time, check out the Puzzles Guide.
Loading up your completed story save from the Main Menu will transfer all your progress & inventory from the first playthrough. This way you are massively overpowered from the beginning. Loot all the treasures/money drops from enemies and bosses, you will need it in preparation for hardest difficulty. Save your completed game again in a new slot at the end of this run to keep your inventory for playthrough #3.
Refer to Knives Out for a Mini-Walkthrough of the Knife Only run, it explains the exceptions when you must use firearms on the environment and on bosses to advance.
Step 4: Village of Shadows (Hardest) Difficulty Playthrough [2-3 Hours]
Before you even start with Village of Shadows, do a quick check how much Lei you have (can check on last manual save). Ideally, you’d have 2,103,000 to fully upgrade the S.T.A.K.E. magnum but you’ll likely be a couple hundred thousand short after 2 playthroughs, which is normal. You must fully upgrade it to unlock its Infinite Ammo from the Extra Content Shop which makes the hardest difficulty incredibly easy (it one hits most enemies and kills bosses in a few hits).
If you don’t have enough money but are close enough (Over 1.5 Million including all your treasures and sellable items) then buy the Grenade Launcher Infinite Ammo for now. The Grenade Launcher is fine for the first half of the game, it deals 1200 damage per hit. But the STAKE deals 4500 per hit and is significantly better for the last few bosses. You will get your missing money on this playthrough and can switch to the Infinite Ammo STAKE when you can afford it.
Should you have significantly less money, under 1 Million Lei, it’d be easier to do another quick speedrun to farm more money. This would be easier and quicker than getting stuck at the end of hardest difficulty, because if you only have the Grenade Launcher you’ll have a very bad time with the last few bosses.
Important: Before fully upgrading the STAKE (2.1 Million Lei) make a Manual Save. After upgrading it, save in another Slot. Now buy the Infinite Ammo from Extra Content Shop. Here’s the trick; you can reload the save from BEFORE upgrading the STAKE! This gives you back all your Lei but Infinite Ammo is active regardless. You only need to have fully upgraded it once to unlock the Infinite Ammo Cheat, but then it also works retroactively on the non-upgraded version. You will save a lot of money this way. The money is better spent on buying all Customizable Weapon Parts for Veteran Gunsmith . If you don’t make use of this trick you are going to need a 4th playthrough to grind out more money for the weapon parts (they cost 1,061,000 Lei, so keep at least that much)! It’s okay to rebuy 3 or 4 damage upgrades for the STAKE to make things easier, but don’t waste money on Rate of Fire / Reload Speed / Ammo Capacity.
Step 5: Mercenaries [~10 Hours, Skill-Dependent]
By this point you should be done with all story trophies. The only thing that’s left is Mercenaries Mode. This Mode must be bought from the Extra Content Shop, only available after the first playthrough.
You must get S-Rank on all 8 Stages. Luckily, S-Rank isn’t the highest achievable rank so it’s not as insane as it could have been (SSS is the maximum). It’s still harder than the main game though, especially the last 4 Stages. Follow the Mercenaries Guide for strategies.

Universe’s Best Dad Finish the story on the Village of Shadows difficulty. |
||
Village of Shadows is the hardest difficulty in Resident Evil 8 Village. In the Deluxe Edition with Trauma Pack DLC it’s unlocked from the start but it’s not recommended to begin on this difficulty (in the Standard Edition it’s not available from the start). As with other Resident Evil games it’s much better to beat the game on easiest difficulty first to unlock some Infinite Ammo Cheats. We’ll go over the recommended weapons/cheats and boss tips below. Tips & Tricks / Mini-Walkthrough:
|
||
Crafter Craft an item in the Crafting menu. |
||
Press > to open the Crafting Menu. The default recipes that you start with are First Aid Med (1 Herb + 1 Chem Fluid) & Handgun Ammo (2 Gunpowder + 2 Rusted Scrap). Craft one of these once you have enough materials.
Patron Purchase something from the Duke in the story. |
||
The Duke is the merchant (item shop) in Resident Evil Village. You will automatically encounter him a few times. The first time you see him is after escaping the mines, just before entering Castle Dimitrescu. You can find him again inside the Castle (ground floor near the main door) and then a few more times later on. Buy anything from him, e.g. some handgun ammo which is cheap.
Petty Thief Unlock a simple lock with a lockpick. |
||
You find the lockpick after defeating the first mutated Dimitrescu (inside Castle Dimitrescu, in a hallway next to the named map area “Kitchen”). You’ll walk into it automatically during the story. After finding the lockpick, turn around to find a locked cupboard behind you and use the lockpick on it to get the trophy. You can also open any other lock of course, there are plenty of them throughout the game.
Repairer Combine a treasure into its complete form. |
||
You can do this in Castle Dimitrescu after having found the “Iron Insignia Key” (a story-related key item, can’t miss it). That key is inside the Piano of the Opera Hall (1F). Now backtrack to the Dungeon (B1) and there will be one door where you can use the key. Enter the room, pick up the pipe bomb on the right side, throw it against the cracked wall on the left, shoot the left hanging brazier into the fire, then shoot the left brazier and the right brazier so they set each other on fire. Once both braziers are on fire the spikes around the coffin will lower and you can loot it for the Azure Eye treasure. Now go find the Silver Ring treasure in Hall of Pleasure (2F), inside a drawer. It’s the room that also contains one of the four key item masks. Examine the items in your inventory and combine both the Azure Eye and Silver Ring to get the Azure Eye Ring. This unlocks the trophy. You can sell it for 12,000 Lei. There are plenty other treasures you can combine, this is just one example early in the game. |
||
Hunter Hunt an animal during the story. |
||
Simply kill any type of animal during the story. You’ll encounter some animals automatically. For example, after exiting Castle Dimitrescu you will go through some water in a cave with fish in it. You can kill them easily with your knife.
Get the Ball Rolling Solve a Labyrinth. |
||
There are 4 Labyrinths in the game and each has 1 corresponding Labyrinth Ball (collectable items). The Labyrinths are miniature buildings, you put the Labyrinth ball in the Labyrinth and then must complete a minigame to guide the ball to the end of the labyrinth. Luckily you only need to solve 1 Labyrinth for trophies and can ignore the others. The earliest opportunity is in Castle Dimitrescu. Location Labyrinth Ball: Castle Domitrescu 2F, Opera Hall – on the 2nd floor of the Opera Hall you can find the “Flower Swords Ball” item in a chest by a window with an enemy. You go to the Opera Hall automatically as part of the story (where you must play the piano to get a key item). Location Labyrinth: Castle Domitrescu 1F, Merchant’s Room – head back to where you met Duke the merchant in the castle. Next to him is a miniature castle. Put in the ball and guide it to the end of the castle to get the trophy. |
||
Goooaaal! Move the ball from the Winterses’ bedroom into the study. |
||
This takes place during the Prologue. You must take the baby upstairs to put it to bed. In the baby’s room is a yellow ball. Walk into it and push it to the adjacent room that has a laptop in it (the Study). |
||
Squawk Shot Shoot down five flying crows in the story. |
||
You can find Crows during your visits to the village. When you approach, they will start to fly away. You must shoot 5 of them out of the sky. The easiest time to do this is on the 2nd village visit, after returning from Castle Dimitrescu. There are 4 Crows in the Graveyard and 2 at the start of the Field where you went through earlier. Have your shotgun ready and shoot them when they fly away. You can also farm this by restarting the checkpoint. |
||
When You Gotta Go… Open the door to every outhouse in the village in a single playthrough. |
||
There are 10 Outhouses in Resident Evil Village. They are included in the Collectible Guide.
Hooligan Break every breakable window in Castle Dimitrescu in a single playthrough. |
||
There are 19 Breakable Windows in the Castle Dimitrescu section. They are included in the Collectible Guide. |
||
Quit Hanging Around Shoot down a Soldat hanging from the production line in the Factory. |
||
This can be done in Heisenberg’s Factory. After you get hunted by a propellor blade machine you go through a scrapyard and then must climb up a ladder. Immediately after climbing the ladder there will be some bodies hanging from a production line in the air, straight ahead of you. Shoot down the rope above one of these “Soldats” to get the trophy. A Duke Merchant is also in the same place, so you can remember when you first meet Duke in the Factory is where you can also do the trophy. |
||
Push Comes to Shove Push away an enemy after guarding in the story. |
||
For this you must hold to block and immediately after blocking an enemy’s melee attack you quickly press repeatedly to perform a counter attack. So at first you’re holding the button permanently, don’t let go of it. After the enemy has attacked (just after blocking) you spam very quickly. This results in pushing the enemy away and pops the trophy. For example, you can do it against the very first enemy you encounter in the game, immediately after getting the knife and handgun in the Village. There will be a single Lycan attacking you. It works on any other Lycans too, plenty of opportunities for this. |
||
Trick Shot Defeat an enemy from long range with the sniper rifle in the story. |
||
You find the F2 Sniper Rile in Castle Dimitrescu, in the Attic before heading to the roofs (where some flying demon monsters are). It’s in plain sight but technically it’s optional to pick up. If you don’t have enough inventory space for it, either get rid of some inventory items or sell some of your inventory to the Duke in the Merchant’s room. Immediately in the next section after the Sniper Rifle, you will go outside to the rooftops. Shoot one of the flying demons in the distance to get the trophy. There are also many other opportunities to do this, for example on your way back from Castle Dimitrescu to the Village there are some Lycans sitting still on top of some ruins that are easy to snipe. Also lots of Lycans at the start of the Stronghold area later in the story. |
||
Strategist Defeat at least three enemies with one attack in the story. |
||
This will come naturally, don’t worry about this. Defeat 3 enemies in one attack, for example using Pipe Bombs, or Grenade Launcher, or Magnum that shoots through multiple enemies.
A good location is at the start of the Stronghold section when you have to pull 2 levers to open a gate. There will be lots of Lycans close together and there are also some explosive barrels in this area. |
||
Medium Rare Set fire to a Moroaică in the story. |
||
Moroaica are the enemies that look like “old hags”, they wear some black robes and usually carry a sword (first encountered in castle dungeon). You can do this trophy easily after having obtained the “Crank” key item. It’s an unmissable story item that you get automatically on your to the Moreau boss fight. After beating the Moreau boss, return to the “Lone Road” area outside the village (named map area). It’s the road west of where the Duke Merchant sits in the Village. There’s a Drawbridge that you couldn’t activate earlier in the story, but now that you have the crank you can use it. Activate the drawbridge and get in the boat. Drive it upstream, exit at the riverbank, and enter the dungeon (marked as “Riverbank Treasure House” on the map with a golden chest icon). There will be a burning brazier in the middle of the room. Shoot it into the two torches in the room. Then Moroaica will keep spawning infinitely. Shoot the brazier so it swings into the Moroaica, thus setting it on fire! |
||
Fast Reflexes Knock a flaming arrow out of the sky with a close combat weapon in the story. |
||
You can do this on your way to the Stronghold. That takes place between the 3rd boss (Moroe) & 4th boss (Heisenberg). After using the Six-Winged Key in the north-east of the Village to open a gate you will get to this section. It’s part of the story, so you can’t miss the location. There will be some archers on the stronghold ruins that are shooting flaming arrows at you. Equip your knife and just spam after they shot their arrow. This will do a knife swing and hits the arrows out of the air. |
||
Leader of the Pack Take down the Vârcolac Alfa in the story. |
||
The Varcolac Alfa spawns during your 4th visit to the Village, after having defeated the 3rd boss (Moreau boss). You can find him at the named map area “Fallow Plot” in the north-east of the Village. That’s the fields where you went through earlier in the game during your first village visit. But this time the mighty Alfa enemy will have spawned. He looks like a big werewolf. Defeat him and the trophy will unlock. If you have trouble with this, try doing it on another run after you’ve unlocked infinite ammo from the bonus shop. |
||
Timber Defeat Uriaș during the first lycan attack when you enter the village. |
||
Your first enemy encounter in the game will be the Lycan Ambush. After fighting off the Lycans for a while, a big miniboss will spawn. He looks like a big Werewolf with black fur and is wielding a hammer. You can’t miss him because he’ll come to attack you. This is Urias, the miniboss you must defeat for this trophy. Normally you’d fight him much later in the game in the Stronghold section, but for this trophy you must kill him on the first encounter. On your first playthrough you won’t have enough ammo to defeat him. You will want to do this in New Game+. After finishing the story it asks you to create a “Complete Story Save”. Do this and then load your completed story save from the main menu to start New Game+. Play on Casual to make it even easier, so enemies die faster. You get to keep all your weapons, upgrades and inventory including ammunition. Now replay the Urias part and kill him. It’s even easier when you buy Infinite Ammo from the Extra Content Shop (Main Menu > Bonuses > Extra Content Shop). |
||
Photographer Use Photo Mode. |
||
You can open Photo Mode from the Pause Menu. When you’ve opened Photo Mode press to close it and the trophy will pop. It only unlocks the trophy after closing Photo Mode.
Also note that you can take pictures via the Share-Button on the controller and it saves them to your console’s media library. |
||
Lucky Number 7 Have 777, 7,777, or 77,777 Lei in your possession in the story. |
||
Step 1: Finish the story one time (any difficulty) to unlock the Extra Content Shop. After the story go to Main Menu > Bonuses > Extra Content Shop > WCX. Buy the “WCX” Assault Rifle for 30,000 CP (Completion Points). You should have enough CP after the story automatically. Step 2: Buy the WCX Assault Rifle from the Duke Merchant during the story. You can simply reload an old Manual Save. Once you unlocked it at the Extra Content Shop it becomes available retroactively on your old saves, too. Now also buy the “Rifle Ammo” Recipe from the Merchant for 10,000 Lei (the recipe is only available after buying the WCX Assault Rifle). Step 3: The trick is to craft Rifle Ammo. You can sell your crafted Rifle ammo to the Merchant for 7 Lei a piece! You need EXACTLY 777 or 7,777 or 77,777 for this trophy. Having any other amount won’t work, it has to be one of these 3 values exactly. The easiest option is to buy a lot of stuff to get to 0 Lei exactly. You can also sell/buy stacks of Pistol Ammo and other low value items until everything evens out to 0 Lei. Then simply sell 111 Rifle Ammo to the Merchant. 111 x 7 Lei = 777 Lei. You can reload your Manual Save afterward to get your Lei back. |
||
Mapmatician Complete the village map. |
||
For this you must have unfogged the entire world map by having walked to every place possible. You will automatically get this when going for all Collectibles in one playthrough. See the Collectible Guide. The trophy will pop when you start playing as Chris and talk to the Sniper overlooking the village. After that cutscene, before encountering the first enemies as Chris, the trophy should pop (a short while after Heisenberg boss fight).
» Resident Evil 8 Village – All Collectible Locations Guide Here’s a picture of the full map at the last manual save point before exiting Heisenberg’s Factory: Here’s the point at which the trophy should unlock: You go to most areas automatically as part of the story. The only optional ones are:
The only area where you don’t necessarily have to go for Collectibles is the Riverbank Treasure House, but you must go there for trophy “Medium Rare” and it’s mentioned in the Collectible Guide. If you missed an optional area you can reload a save before entering Heisenberg’s Factory and still roam around the village. After getting the missing areas just replay the factory (takes maybe 20 minutes) and the trophy should pop after Heisenberg boss. Or combine it with a future playthrough, the 3 optional areas are quick to revisit. |

There are 22 Customizable Weapon Parts. They are Weapon Attachments. 5 are found in the world, 17 are bought from the Duke merchant. You must first find or buy the weapon and then combine it with the customizable parts via the inventory. See the Collectible Guide for their locations.
The total cost for all 17 purchasable attachments is 1,061,000 Lei + 600,200 Lei for purchasable Weapons that have Attachments. So the grand total is 1,661,200 Lei. You should have enough money after your Village of Shadows playthrough if you followed the Trophy Roadmap. |

There are 47 Files. They are text document collectibles. See the Collectible Guide for their locations.
Don’t Trust That Snake Oil Finish the story only using four or less recovery items. |
||
This is best combined with the 3 hour speedrun / knife only playthrough / spending less than 10,000 Lei. See Knives Out for tips on how to combine all 4 trophies. For this trophy you are limited to using a maximum of 4 healing items throughout the entire story. This sounds a bit daunting at first but on easy difficulty it’s not too bad. You actually recover some health over time on all difficulties, enough that you can take another hit. So if your screen is flashing red just run away from enemies until your health has automatically recovered, it does that without the use of any healing items. It’s best done in New Game+ because by then you will already have some Cooking Recipes from the first playthrough which permanently increase your health. After the story the game asks you to create a completed story save. You must then load this save from the main menu to begin NG+. You keep all your upgrades and inventory in this mode. It’s best to keep your 4 heals for the final 2 bosses. Anything before then doesn’t need health items. You also get healed automatically at some points, so don’t waste healing items before these points.
|
||
Dashing Dad Finish the story within 3 hours. |
||
This is best combined with the knife only playthrough / less than 4 healing items / spending less than 10,000 Lei. See Knives Out for tips on how to combine all 4 trophies. 3 Hours is a lot of time for the Speedrun. I did it in 2h 15min on my first attempt combining all these trophies including Knife Only. So there’s plenty of time. Pausing the game stops the timer and you can revert to a previous manual save if you think you took too long in a section. Make sure you do this in New Game+. After the story it will ask you to create a completed story save. You can then load this save from the Main Menu to start NG+. |
||
Frugal Father Finish the story without spending more than 10,000 Lei. |
||
This is best combined with the 3 hour speedrun / knife only playthrough / less than 4 healing items. See Knives Out for tips on how to combine all 4 trophies.
For this you can’t spend more than 10,000 Lei (money) on a playthrough. It works in New Game+ even if you spent more than 10,000 already on your first playthrough. After the story it will ask you to create a completed story save. You can then load this save from the Main Menu to start NG+. If you already bought Inventory Upgrades on the first playthrough there’s really not much need to buy anything else on your Knife Only Speedrun, so this can be combined perfectly. |
||
Knives Out Not including some boss fights, finish the story using nothing but close combat weapons. |
||
For this you must beat the entire game using only a melee weapon (one of the knives). You should beat the story first. Then you can buy the “Karambit Knife” from the Extra Content Shop in the Main Menu. It deals much more damage than the default knife. After the story you also unlock the “Challenges” Menu in the Pause Menu, which lets you keep track of this trophy and you can see there if you messed up. Make sure you do it in New Game+ on Casual (Easy) difficulty. The in-game Challenge description says “Knives Out – Finish the story using nothing but close combat weapons (Not including the self-propelled artillery against Heisenberg, or when prompted to shoot in the final battle against Miranda).” So the ONLY two bosses where you may briefly use weapons are Heisenberg during his first phase (while driving the vehicle) and Miranda at the end of the fight when she throws you down and creates a big yellow orb over her head (must shoot the orb), but must switch back to the knife immediately after to finish her off. You must also use weapons on the environment at a few points to advance the story, we’ll go over these below in the Mini-Walkthrough but here’s a quick overview: The 5 Bells Puzzle in Castle Dimitrescu (must also shoot 1 window in the roof and shoot the chandelier to reach the bells), blow up the wall in the Armory during one of the Witch minibosses (Pipe Bomb or Grenade Launcher, if the Witch takes splash damage from it that shouldn’t matter), shoot a piece of yellow wood during Moreau Reservoir area, the Grinder (orange dots under big spinning blade fan) in the Factory, when you fly towards a Ventilator Fan in the factory (shoot orange dot on fan), use the Laser Pointer 3 times on the House in Chris’s section (it will automatically kill nearby Lycans which is allowed, but DON’T use laser pointer against the Mace-wielding boss). To be safe check your in-game Challenge tracker after each of these to make sure it still says 0. Shooting the environment seems to be generally okay, you just can’t shoot enemies with firearms outside of the two specific boss exceptions. Tips & Tricks / Mini-Walkthrough:
It’s recommended to combine this with trophy Don’t Trust That Snake Oil which requires you to use four or less health items (I combine both and used 0, it’s quite easy). There are some points where you get healed automatically, so don’t waste health items before those points and keep your 4 uses for the Heisenberg / Chris / Miranda bosses. Automatic Heals during story:

After beating the story for the first time on any difficulty (e.g. on Casual) you unlock the Extra Content Shop. It can then be found under Main Menu > Bonuses > Extra Content Shop. This shop uses a currency called CP (Completion Points) which you get from doing trophies and other in-game Challenges.
Buy all 76 figures costing 8,900 CP in total. Scroll over all of them afterward in “Figures” menu so the red flashing sign on them goes away. No need to enlarge all of them (you don’t need to press on any of them, just scroll over them). After 1 story playthrough you’ll have more than enough points for this (I had 108,000 after 1 playthrough). Can back up your save game beforehand (USB / PS+ Cloud), unlock the trophy, then copy back the save to get your CP back. Better to not waste any CP and spend them on Weapons (needed for some Recipe Collectibles) & Infinite Ammo instead. |

Proud to present you another complete Day-1 Guide with Resident Evil VIllage 🙂
Everything is all done including the Collectible Guide.
Enjoy!
I recommend this game. Most polished thing I played in a long time, didn’t run into any bugs, which is rare these days.
Arkonite says
Awesome Job, as usual, on day-1… Thanks and congrats PP, you’re the best, by far 🙂
Hugo says
Outstanding job as usual! Thanks a lot!
Jason says
Can you beat the game, reload before the last boss and get a different trophy?
PowerPyx says
@Jason
Yes.
For example, you can reload save before final boss to buy all recipes. Then reload same save again to buy all weapon attachments etc.
But you can’t free roam before the final boss, so it’s only good for some purchase-related “collectibles”.
Jason says
Just asking because before the final boss I didn’t have a lot of time. So I dropped the difficulty to casual to see the ending. So I can reload my save before the boss and get the normal trophy?
Heiko says
village of shadow speedrun with no healing is not winnable at the end with chris urias is op please help
Bird says
Great guide ! Looking forward to trying it out soon.
Armin Farsiabi says
Hey Powerpyx Thanks for the awesome guide but I want to ask for the speedrun if I could pause the game ? Or is it impossible to pause the timer ?
PowerPyx says
Good question!
Yes pausing is perfectly fine. I added this detail to the description now, thanks for bringing it up!
Blob says
Do you know what ‘Village of Shadows’ difficulty changes besides the fights you mentioned? Great guides as always!
PowerPyx says
Surprisingly, nothing fundamental changes at all. The enemies have more health and deal more damage and they run faster.
But you still have unlimited saves, all the typewriters (save points) are still there, your health automatically recovers when near death, you keep your entire inventory from previous playthrough, crafting items don’t consume inventory space… nothing hard about it.
PhantomFear94 says
Thanks for this! So excited for this, I’ve completed 2, 3 and 7 and the latter was my favourite game of the last generation of consoles period. I’m glad there is some challenge.
With “The Mercenaries’, would you say it’s Ethan Must Die/Joe Must Die sort of difficulty from the DLC? Hard, but not brutally punishing? I got the entire 100% for Resident Evil 7 (i.e. including DLC) and didn’t find it too bad.
Sacred says
Could I play a blind playthrough first then do 3 additional playthroughs for platinum? I’d like to spend time upgrading/customizing the guns
PowerPyx says
Yes, doing an additional blind playthrough is fine of course. Actually gives you even more money for New Game+, so all the better!
Salvatore says
If you take a collectible, then do you find it in the new game plus? Or is it lost?
PowerPyx says
Everything carries over to NG+, except the 10 Outhouses and 19 Castle Windows (those must be found in 1 single playthrough).
Anonymous says
Thank you for the trophy guide. Harder than I expected since Resident Evil 7’s Platinum trophy was so easy but I’ll try to achieve the Platinum trophy regardless.
Chris L says
I’ve found it the complete opposite however I’ve just finished village of shadows difficulty and moving onto the mercenaries part so might change my mind after
Skydante says
Damn, it’s perfect 🙂
Thanks !
Simon says
Looking forward to this one, I definitely won’t be starting on Easy though as I like a blind challenge first time around!
Abby says
Thank you so much for this guide! I have been really excited to finally start this game the second it releases and having your guide from the start is very helpfull and very appreciated!
Slicee-of-Lifee says
I’m confused. Is 2.1 Million Lei enough for both collectible and the STAKE? If not, should we buy items from shop for collectibles in our first playthrough?
Thanks.
plat says
One of you guys at Powerpyx has the Platinum Trophy. Is there an Autopop-Platin PS4 to PS5? Or did he play the PS5 Version….
PowerPyx says
So right now the save game transfer only works from PS5 > PS4.
But I will test the PS4 > PS5 transfer soon to see what it autopops. If it turns out to be a “free plat” I’ll add a paragraph about it to the Roadmap later.
Jakassc says
Thanks PowerPyx! Can’t wait to play! Although I will probably start with a blind play through on normal or hard for the first run. Are you planning on doing a guide for the Mass Effect Remaster later this month?
ThrashNSlash says
Does it have cross save or at least save transfer from ps4 –> ps5
Thanks for the Guide as always Mercenaries will be annoying
PowerPyx says
Yes, there is PS4 > PS5 transfer. You can sync the save in the game’s main menu.
But there’s no PS5 > PS4 transfer. It only works from last-gen to current-gen.
Jacob Groves says
Nice guides for RE Village, look forward to it tomorrow!! 🙂
Are you plan to do trophy guide for Mass Effect Legendary Edition? if not you then someone else here will bring up trophy guide for it?
Alex says
Great guide as always. Do you know if the trophies auto pop on PS5?
Salvatore says
For the 3-hour trophy, can the game be paused?
PowerPyx says
Yes
Ameeri Alameeri says
Please i hope he answer my question…
Can i start the game of the village of shadows as a first playthrough (( what i meant is, is it playable without infinite ammo or not playable at all without it?. cuz im the kind who loves playing the hardest difficulty from the start
PowerPyx says
Technically yes, it’s unlocked from the start but only if you buy the Deluxe Edition with Trauma Pack DLC. It would be really challenging though.
TheNoMoreHero says
Thank you for the guide, it’s inspiring as I always eanted do guides myself. Question about playthrough 1, I wanted to play on standard difficulty for a bit of a challenge but was wondering if you suggested easy because you get more lei on cadual difficulty vs standard? Or any other bonus which may not be apparent?
PowerPyx says
Starting on Standard difficulty is fine too.
I suggest Casual because it’s easier/quicker (obviously), especially when trying to conserve money and strolling around for Collectibles. On the other hand, you do get more money on Standard difficulty but you might also end up spending more or consuming more health items which are better kept for hardest difficulty.
Either Casual or Standard is fine though depending on personal preference.
Mike says
Thank you for your work!! You said story is 4/10, so what would you rate Mercenaries Mode?
PhantomFear94 says
I’m guessing it’s the thing making it a 7/10. I get the impression that with some practise most people will be able to get through it. I looked at the videos on PowerPyx’s YT channel, and it didn’t look insanely difficult. SnowNinjaRaccoon on PSNProfiles said that its a 5-6/10 with a guide, and generally speaking, this site (correctly) errs on the side of caution with its difficulty ratings to account for different skill levels.
Mike says
That’s good to hear – thank you! I was worried his 7/10 was an average score between the two and maybe Mercenaries was a 10/10.
PhantomFear94 says
Here is praying I can do Mercenaries. Would be my 4th Resi completion on the bounce!
Fring says
Hello Pyxy,
Will be there a trophy guide for Hood : Outlaws & Legends?
Thanks!
PowerPyx says
Don’t have anything planned for it, sorry.
Frei says
Are trophies for PS4 & PS5 shared?
PhantomFear94 says
Xbox One & Series often shares a list but sometimes does not (usually depends on Smart Delivery or not).
PS4 & PS5 always have separate lists. Without exception.
zulqarmessi says
Hey Powerpyx, i dont have PS5 yet, can i play it on PS4, Would you recommend it, I dont wanna experience another Cyberpunk. Lol
PowerPyx says
PS4 version runs absolutely solid. No issues, no bugs, no crashes. It looks 1:1 the same as PS5 version to me and runs very smoothly. Only thing I noticed was some texture pop-ins in a few places, but not to the point where it would be annoying.
Droideka75 says
I think the hardest difficulty is only available from the start if you purchased the deluxe edition that gives you the trauma pack (or you can buy it later but idk). On “Universe’s best dad” you mention it’s unlocked from the beginning but it actually isn’t for standard edition players. I know because my preload downloaded both the ps4 and ps5 editions, but i had to manually download the ps5 add ons(it downloaded automatically for PS4 but i deleted that file as it’s extra 30Gb for no apparent reason). First time in the game i noticed hardest was missing so i was playing as standard. After downloading the pre-order and trauma packs, hardest was there. (Along with the rest of the bonus content)
Love your guides btw. Helped me a lot with some platinums, so I’m glad to give a tiny bit back! Going for a blind playthrough, but I’ll be back later ;)
Aleksandr says
Powepyx, is it possible to get 2 platinum as it was with Miles Morales?
PowerPyx says
Yes, there’s a PS4 stack & a PS5 stack 🙂
Roberto says
Village of shadows difficulty is not available from the start for me, how do i unlock it.
PowerPyx says
It’s only available from the start with the Trauma Pack DLC (Deluxe Edition).
In the Standard version it is NOT available from the start.
Roberto says
And how do i unlock it? Does it matter what difficulty i finish the game on
Aiko says
You need to beat the game once to unlock Village of Shadows difficulty.
MateSpianSVK says
Hi PP, thank you for this awesome Trophy guide.
But this link is not working:
Cooking Ingredients & Locations
or is error on my side?
Thanks
PowerPyx says
Hey, thanks for spotting this!!
I had changed the link later and forgot to update it here. It’s fixed now 🙂
Charlie says
Already?! That was quick!
avalon says
I’m wondering if I should play the PS4 ver or the PS5 ver first? Do trophies autopop when uploading/downloading saves? I got the first “photo mode” trophy in the prologue and it didn’t autopop when I switched to PS5? :/
Mike GT says
Do I have to get all of the treasures on the map? I followed your guide but the map trophy isn’t popping.
PowerPyx says
To clarify; you got all Collectibles on that run (got trophies for all files & goats) but not Mapmatician? Is it possible that you died and didn’t revisit an area after death? (did you ever die or restart checkpoint?)
I can confirm treasures have nothing to do with it. It’s just for unfogging the map.
PowerPyx says
Had a friend re-check this also by intentionally missing some treasures and he got Mapmatician, so treasures are not required. One semi-exception is the Riverbank Treasure House where you go with the boat (after Drawbridge), where the Medium Rare trophy takes place. Did you go there? No collectible there but it is mentioned in the collectible guide to go there for there trophy.
The only 3 areas where you don’t go automatically in story are Moreau side area that requires crank, Riverbank Treasures house that requires crank on Drawbridge, Mill to the left of Stronghold entrance. It should be okay to miss small corners on the map, for example there are some fish ponds that I never entered on my playthrough and got the trophy just fine, so just being in every named map area seems to be enough. But getting every treasure isn’t a requirement.
EarnestC says
Same happened to me, challenge is complete, no achievement though
🙁
PhantomFear94 says
My fiancee and I are playing through on her account first. She isn’t an achievement hunter so didn’t bother with most but wanted to get all treasures for the lei, and she still got Maptician! So if you get all treasures and generally go to every area you shouldn’t miss this.
Between all collectibles (for achievements/trophies) and treasures (money) you’ll definitely get this.
Fahad says
Can I backtrack to every location before fighting Heisenberg?
PowerPyx says
No.
Ameeri Alameeri says
Does collectables save ? Not related to save (( you can reload old save and get it )), and are they carry over to the ng+ ? No neither ?
Thanks in advance.
Shadow says
@PowerPyx i hope u see this and answer my question .. am on my 1st playthrough and i wanna sell the old weapons .. can i sell them without affecting any trophy?
PowerPyx says
Yes it’s fine to sell them, you can buy them back any time if needed.
Roberto says
Is the buying back included with the amount of Lei needed for the attachments trophy?
Mirar says
Thank you PowerPyx for this amazing guide. I’ve one little question. I bought the Trauma DLC. Does it make sense to use the Samurai Edge Albert for 200 Lei and sell the Lemi Gun for 8000?
Charles says
Can you get back into Castle Dimitrescu after defeating Lady Dimistrescu and reaching the village the second time? I missed the ball rolling puzzle in the room with Duke.
PowerPyx says
No.
But there are other opportunities for the trophy, see Collectible Guide (more Balls & Labyrinths listed there).
Deadlyvenom666 says
@powerpyx thanks for another great guide. Quick question, in your knife playthrough video you have the better knife at the start. Had you done a 2nd playthrough before doing that video. Just wondering how you had it to begin with before meeting duke.
PowerPyx says
It’s explained under the knife only trophy.
Thomas Falcon says
If you have equipped every part for an old weapon are you ok to sell it? just got he second pistol and was wondering
PhantomFear94 says
How do you check challenges? I can’t see them anyway…does the menu unlock after beating the game once?
PowerPyx says
They are only available AFTER the first playthrough. I suppose they did it that way to prevent spoilers (some of the Challenge descriptions are very spoilery).
Chris Radford says
I’ve not got the Mapmatician trophy because i didn’t get the medium rare trophy. Is there any way i could load a save and do this and get the trophy? Or am i basically stewed and got to start a new playthrough and get all collectibles again?
PowerPyx says
Just reload a save before entering the factory, go to Riverbank building, replay factory and it should pop. It’s maybe 15-20 mins of replay.
Armagn says
Hooligan trophy is glitched on my game. (2nd gameplay, digital deluxe version, base PS4). I’m absolutely sure I’ve done all 19 windows but one window did not register (18/19).
PowerPyx says
Try reinstalling the game / redownloading it. Also try reverting to a save before entering the castle.
The “good” thing is that the challenge resets each time you start a new playthrough, because it wants you to get all windows in 1 story run. So if it doesn’t pop on 2nd run, try it again next run and it might work then. Strange issue though!
Renato Luiz says
Hey powerpyx, i just beat the game today and i want to start my knife only run, already bought the karambit but i dont know how to start a new game with the karambit at the beggining, can you help me please
PowerPyx says
You load your completed story save to start NG+.
Declio says
I think what Renato means is that you don’t actually start the NG+ with the knife in your inventory–you need to wait until you first meet Duke to purchase it from him for 1000 Lei. At least that was my experience.
It was a little confusing since I was expecting items purchased from the extra content shop to immediately be placed in inventory at the beginning of a NG+.
PowerPyx says
It’s explained in Roadmap Step 3 / first tip under the Knife trophy.
Dawn Estelle says
Can I reload saves and get the collectibles? Or do I have to finish it in one go for it to count? Thanks.
PowerPyx says
You can reload for everything except Outhouses & Windows (those two types must be done in 1 single playthrough).
Chris Radford says
Does everything carry over between playthroughs stats wise? I’m talking about the recipe trophy in particular. I don’t have to do all recipes in one playthrough do i? I can create a recipe in one playthrough then create another in different playthrough and the counter is still active?
PowerPyx says
Everything carries over.
Chris Radford says
Also, are the cooking recipes needed for a trophy? I made 2 of the recipes but the counter in the challenges menu didn’t go up on either the Artisan or Tinkerer trophy.
PowerPyx says
Cooking isn’t needed for any trophies (they don’t count as Recipes either).
Farren says
Useful tip, there’s an opportunity to explore the entire castle without being bothered by Lady Dimitrescu. Progress the story until you enter a church area with a coffin (not the one behind the iron gate). Open the coffin but DON’T pick up what’s inside. The game will autosave and Dimitrescu will despawn. Backtrack and pick up any treasures and collectibles without bother
Vagner says
can Knives out Trophy be done with the light Saber?
PowerPyx says
It should.
Haven’t tested it, but it’s a melee weapon so should work.
Alex Pitt says
Hi,
For the trophy ‘Veteran Gunsmith’, do you need to keep the weapons in your inventory after customising them? Surely not, as there isn’t enough space, but just checking.
Thanks
PowerPyx says
1) No, you don’t need them in your inventory (the progress is tracked via Challenges Menu)
2) There is enough space for all weapons that have attachments in fully upgraded inventory, I had all of them at same time, but gotta throw out ammo and everything else to make space.
Hawkwind666 says
I personally think it’s better to do the under 3 hours and less than 4 healing items runs separately from the knife only run. I tried to combine all 3 but had to use 5 healing items and finished in 3 hours 5 minutes. The under 3 hours run is hard with the knife only as some bosses take much longer to kill with the knife (Urias and Miranda especially). Doing under 3 hours and under 4 healing items is a breeze with infinite ammo weapons.
Charles Howitt says
With how quickly Ethan recovers on casual mode it’s pretty easy to do all of them. Did Under 3 hours/4 healing items/less than 10K Lei and Knife Only in 2:25 and only healed once during the final boss.
Sandwich says
It really isn’t unless you are planning to do 4 playthroughs. If you get karambit knife on casual difficulty doing a speedrun is easy, bosses die fast, small enemies die in 1-2 hits. Also 4 heals on casual is A LOT. You can tank like 7 grabs from lycan.
On Village you are better off to use more than 4, unless you want to replay frequently. Sometimes enemies jump on you from behind, or bosses hit you hard, etc. Honestly if you had trouble with casual karambit walkthrough then village walkthrough won’t be that easy for you. Even with one-shots you can be overrun.
Hawkwind666 says
I don’t think it’s worth starting Village of Shadows until you have enough money for the STAKE with infinite ammo. The grenade launcher doesn’t even kill regular enemies in one hit on Village of Shadows. I tried to do the village ambush at the start with the grenade launcher and it was impossible for me.
Aiko says
I’m currently on Step 1 of the guide and was wondering if it’s ok to upgrade certain parts of weapons such as Power and/or Ammo Capacity.
PowerPyx says
I’d recommend to hold off on all upgrades except the inventory size upgrade. Save your money for the STAKE.
Momo says
I upgraded my weapons the first time and now I am on the 5th playthrough.. village of shadows the last boss Miranda with the stake infinite ammo!!. Don’t upgrade. Just buy the inventory size 2 times!!
PhantomFear94 says
Had 900K lei after playthrough 1, which I thought was ok, but if you need 2.1 million and get little during the speedrun (just boss crystals and such) then aren’t you going to need to do a 4th playthrough anyway? Or can you re-load your boss save after doing Step 3 (speedrun0knife only, less than 10K) and – presuming you initially have enough to get all mods – sell all your weapons aside from STAKE?
PowerPyx says
All explained in Roadmap Step 4 🙂
Chris Radford says
I did a separate playthrough for the knife only run. So in total i did 4 playthroughs.
Declio says
I’m a little confused on the order of how to approach the Village playthrough with the STAKE upgrades. Is it like this?
1. Finish a playthrough ensuring you have at least the 2.1m Lei required.
2. Purchase STAKE from bonus shop using CP.
3. Begin NG+ on Village difficulty
4. When you meet Duke for the first time, make a manual save–then buy all of the upgrades for the STAKE.
5. Make another manual save in a second slot. Then quit to main menu to buy infinite STAKE ammo from the bonus shop.
6. Load the first manual save from before you upgraded to regain all of the Lei you spent on upgrades (then maybe consider only buying the damage upgrades for now).
I assume that after all of this (and after you complete the full Village difficulty playthrough), that we will still have enough Lei to purchase all of the weapon upgrades and recipes for the remaining collectable trophies?
Thanks again for the great guide.
Declio says
Answering my own question, because I was making it too complicated. I just loaded my last save before the final boss, then bought the stake. I made a manual save after buying the stake, then fully purchased upgrades/attachments. Then I made a manual save in a second slot, quit out, bought infinite ammo, then reloaded my first save to get my money back. I will finish the last boss on this file again to set up my NG+ with the stake and infinite ammo on village difficulty.
Chris Radford says
All correct except #1 where you need to do multiple playthroughs to get 2.1 million lei.
JG says
Thanks for the guide!
I purchased the infinite ammo Dragoon; however, both when I go to purchase it from the Merchant and Chris’ section do not show it as having infinite ammo.
Is there a glitch or am I doing something incorrectly?
JG says
Nevermind… I see what I did haha. All good!
PowerPyx says
Check from Main Menu in-game options if Infinite Ammo is enabled. It should be enabled by default though.
p789cs says
I have confirmed about PS4 transfer to PS5
only 20 goat will pop after savedata transfer
except this,all trophies need to trigger again:/
Mike says
In Village of Shadows, how do you get past the part where Ethan’s hand gets chopped off by Lady Dumitrescu? You are in red health after the cutscene and can’t use a first aid med or weapons. Lady D keeps blocking me and one-shots me. I noticed this part wasn’t mentioned in the village of Shadows mini walkthrough even though it’s one of the hardest parts of the game on that difficulty.
Fluffy says
I had a weird issue with the Frugal Father trophy and I’m not sure if it’s bugged. I beat the game on new game+ and didn’t spend any money but in the challenge section it shows the money I spent on upgrading the inventory. The trophy didn’t unlock after spending nothing and beating the game again, so I’m not sure if there is a way to reset it or if it’s just bugged for me.
Michael A Edwards says
@PowerPyx
How hard would you really say getting an ‘S’ rank on all 8 stages in Mercenaries Mode really is? I get you’re a great gamer, but is this a mode that is almost impossible to achieve? Does it make players rage after an ungodly amount of attempts? Is it “easy” so to speak to develop patterns? The only trophy that seems to be questionable in this for me is the Legendary Cowboy. I guess getting like 98% of all them is pretty dang good lol, but just incase I decide to attempt this. Thanks.
PowerPyx says
Personally I’d say 6/10 but I play a lot of first-person shooters. Did them all within 4 tries. Others I talked to said 7/10 so I went with that for the average. It’s not too bad, just takes some practice to learn enemy spawn points and where the ammo pickups are.
Michael A Edwards says
Thanks bud for the reply. Yeah, your guides are incredible. Very passionate about what you do and it shows. I really like how thorough your explanations are. I suppose you can’t use Infinite Ammo in Mercenaries Mode, huh?? LOL!
Andy75 says
If there was no mercenary trophy, how much difficulty would it have been?
Aiko says
I’d guess a 4 or 5/10 difficulty from my perspective.
Chris Radford says
Probably like 3
Alex says
Does the 2.1 Million Lei include the cost to buy the STAKE (300,000) itself or is that the cost of just the upgrades and I have to add the 300,000 on top of the 1.2 million?
PowerPyx says
It includes the cost to buy the STAKE + all attachments + all gunsmith upgrades. So everything you need is 2.1M.
Alex says
Thanks.
Ricardo Rodrigues says
Hi! Thanks for the trophy guide!
Do the trophies stack from PS4 to PS5?
Thanks
Luigi says
Is the sniper rifle one of the weapons to customize for the “Veteran Gunsmith” trophy? If it’s not needed, I can sell it, to free up space in the inventory? Thanks!
PowerPyx says
It is needed. All weapons that have attachment slots are needed.
Chris Radford says
Ido you know what score is an S rank on each stage? Is there anywhere i can find this out?
PowerPyx says
The paper in the starting room shows the score requirement for each rank.
Fidel says
The last achievement I need it the ‘Mapmatician’ and for some reason I always end up with 96% at the factory. What percent should I be on before entering the factory? Thank you!
Saleh says
If you have 96% at the factory that mean you are in the right direction, the trophy will pop after reaching the sniper looking over the village as Chris.
Aldo says
Do I have to visit all the rooms of the castle for the “Mapmatician” trophy?
Chris Radford says
No you just have to unfog the whole village map.
Chris Radford says
Finally got the plat. Thanks for the guide!
Daniel says
Does the map progress carry over into new game plus? I didn’t get the trophy even tho I got all collectibles. Not sure which area was missed.
Nicolai says
I beat everything up till Lady Dimitrescu and beat her on Village of Shadows in 00:59:45. Is that to long?
Chris says
Not sure, on casual I was about about 49 mins when I killed her.
PhantomFear94 says
You aren’t advised to combine Village of Shadows and speedrun. Ignoring difficulty, that would be cutting it fine but ok. I finished 2:25 speedrun, knife only and was at House Benevieto by the hour mark.
BodyChipper says
Do you only need to upgrade a weapon and then make a save afterwards at some point to unlock the infinite ammo cheat for that weapon, or does it have to be done in NG+?
I was thinking about making an extra save after upgrading everything at the final Duke/Typewriter on playthrough 1 to unlock the cheats for those standard weapons (I have the cash to do it), then reload to before buying and spending all that money and finish the game, or would that not work to unlock the cheats?
BodyChipper says
nm, answered my own question, and this will work. After beating the game and unlocking the CP show, I reloaded this save file from the final Duke shop, upgraded both parts and stats and they showed up in the cheats.
BodyChipper says
As a general comment, if you are a veteran of the games, you can most definitely complete your casual playthrough without using ANY healing items let alone 4 or less. I have yet to use one at the final boss. One less thing to worry about on a knife-only run if it’s too stressful to combine the two. You can take A LOT of hits even while in the red and not die on casual and ammo is plentiful w the weaker enemies.
h4mx0r says
Just wanted to leave a tip and say that if you happen to have the money for a fully upgraded WCX Assault Rifle, I think it’s much better for sustained DPS on bosses than the STAKE. The STAKE works fine enough but it feels bad when you miss and requires you to keep a steady tempo on the trigger finger.
The WCX does require a buttload of money to upgrade as well of course. It can hold an 80 round mag at max upgrade so you can keep the damage pumping. (Still need the STAKE for trash mobs like lycans because it causes enemies to flinch/go flying)
BodyChipper says
I can attest to this. I was able to finish off the final boss in less than 10 seconds on casual with the upgraded WCX to trigger the prompted event.
If you have the 2.1 million to upgrade the STAKE at the end of your knife only run (I had just barely enough picking up every treasure on my first playthrough), you can reload your saves so that you can upgrade the WCX and STAKE, beat the final boss again, and start your VoS run will begin with a near fully upgraded WCX and STAKE w infinite ammo on each in your inventory.
2ndc0m1ng says
Hey guys.
I cannot get the mercenaries trophy for all S ranks. Only trophy I’m missing. Would anyone be able to game share and help me get this.
Drop me a message if you can. My ps ID is the2ndc0m1ng
Thanks
PhantomFear94 says
Finally got my 1000/1000G today. Loved every second of this game. Amazing roadmap, thank you PowerPyx and the team. This roadmap is great, just some extra things (long) to anyone reading who is struggling on a few things, mainly Village of Shadows and Mercenaries.
– It doesn’t particular matter, but a good tip – I can confirm the permanent meals do NOT count as health items I only used 1-2 med kits naturally on my first, completionist run as casual is very easy. I presumed the meal upgrades would count as health items, but they don’t, and earned the achievements during my first playthrough. So those will act as 2-3 health re-fills without eating into your 4 items or less allowance!
– I personally don’t think many people will have enough money for the S.T.A.K.E Magnum infinite ammo without an additional playthrough even if they are cautious, so I would definitely said 10-15 hours is optimistic. I am usually pretty efficient with most games (normally come under or on the low end of time estimates) and I was 20 hours doing everything campaign wise. I had 900K after my ‘completionist’ run, and was pretty frugal with money and collected every treasure. I had 1.2M after my knife-only speed run, just selling crystals basically. I needed to spend a 3rd playthrough collecting money. Expect a 3rd playthrough before Village of Shadows, unless I’m missing something.
– STURM boss on Village of Shadows – This fight is a joke with the Grenade Launcher flashbang/STAKE Magnum combo. I was stuck for about an hour on this boss with the roadmap method. During a panic, I accidentally shot him with a flashbang and he was stuck for several seconds. Reloaded my manual save after getting an idea, purchased 10+ flashbangs and just alternated between stunning him and shooting his back spot with the STAKE and did it first time, without any medkits, and only needing 4 or 5 flashbangs – took about 90 seconds. His weak spot stays exposed MUCH longer.
– Heisenberg boss stage 1 on Village of Shadows – The 2nd stage is laughably easy with the S.T.A.K.E, but the 1st is a pain. PowerPyx’s tips are great. I’d just add that if you stop shooting you move faster. Sometimes it’s more important to get some distance and shoot strategically. Prioritise always keeping him at range and you’ll usually take out a Weakspot before it ever becomes an issue. Also, when he starts using containers as a shield (happens 2-3 times), be aggressive and go after his face Weakspot. If you are conservative you’ll be at risk of being hit from his exertion wave. Also, never, ever use the rocket launcher unless its to push him back.
– Chris’ section on Village of Shadows – The ladder method didn’t work for me in Chris’ section. I would be safe on the ladder as described, but it would never progress the timer for the air strike reload until I went on the roof so it was redundant. I also found the roof harder to survive on than the ground because of the flaming arrow enemies, and less movement. This area sucks, but I would camp BY the ladder, and throw a grenade or two per wave until the air strike reloads (it’s pretty quick, maybe 15-20 seconds, and the enemies group, meaning the grenades work wonders – there is also a barrel). Moving around whilst aiming usually gives you enough time to make the final two hits. Final two bosses do exactly as roadmap says.
– Mercenaries Mode, Weapons –. I think the routes the roadmap takes are extremely optimised, so the videos are worth watching. However, I would recommend two different strategies to the Sniper Rifle (first 4) and knife/ability (second 4).
For the Version 1 maps, use the SYG Shotgun. It completely obliterates everything and is easier to use than the sniper rifle, and if anything more powerful (I think).
For the Version 2 maps, I’m another ‘pistol + magnum’ guy. No random element and it’s just as easy to maintain combos. Upgraded pistol is adequate and the only maps where ammo can become an issue is Factory II and Mad Village II.
One important thing, PRIORITISE RATE OF FIRE. Power is important, and you need to upgrade it early (4/5), but rate of fire becomes downright essential for Castle and Factory. Recommend upgrading them in balance. You will simply fire too slow not to get overwhelmed on the Version 2 maps, especially Castle II and Factory II.

Just got done with all story-related trophies and the Tinkerer/Artisan one. Trying to get the last 2 Mercenaries ones next. Will try this method.
BodyChipper says
kudos on the Sturm tip, that was way easy with the flash grenade, I just unloaded with a fully powered WCX to hit weak spot afterwards, took 4 iterations to finish him.

If you do the save trick for the S.T.A.K.E, when you reload the save you still also have the Cp points back or only the money?
PowerPyx says
Only Lei.
CP aren’t a problem, you get way more than you need by doing the trophies.
KM Zero says
Ok so I guess Im confused with the Hooligan trophy. I know for a fact I broke all 19 windows and have tried multiple times and it still wont pop. Do all 19 have to be broken in a single go through or can I break some, save, then load back up and finish the rest of them? I qas only missing 4 of them and when I went to break them nothing happened
PowerPyx says
In 1 playthrough.
Abby says
I finished my first run without any problems, but after my bf finished his run he went to the content shop for the content art and figures trophies. Then bought everything, but when he went to pop the trophies the concept art trophy glitched. He went over all the concept art a few times and even restarted the game and then went over it another few times before the trophy popped and we are absolutely sure he went over all of them each time! So just wanted to let you know that the trophy sadly can glitch! I hope this can help someone that’s having issues with it. The figure trophy popped immediately though.

Doing a Village Of Shadows run, with fully upgraded STAKE with infinite ammo, Dragoon with infinite ammo and grenade launcher with infinite ammo. Pretty much breezed through, got the 4 flasks in about 2 hours. Completely hit a wall though with Heisenberg though. Spent about an hour but still can’t even get to the second phase. How much health does he have for God’s sake?! Followed all the tips, shooting the red areas, only using the rockets when he charges, but he just keeps going!
Rikimaru says
Hallo
When I start a NG + and go into my challenges and look at dashing dad, it still shows the red time from my previous game
Only a real NG reset the timer for me.
Does anyone know a solution?
Rikimaru says
The Red Time on “Dashing Dad” show the time from your last run – not the current.

Great guide thanks power
Badder Hammad says
Q plz for Dashing Dad trophy do cutscenes take from your time or not?
Also the timer on the top when I pause the game is it the same timer or different?

Ok so i platinumed the ps4 version then downloaded the ps5 version to double dip on plats realized i needed to upload save on ps4 version so i went and did that but when i downloaded my saves on ps5 version only the 2 goat trophies autopop.WTF right lol!?Has anybody else had this happen and can it b fixed to get the rest?!
Ryan says
Ok not sure if anybody needs this info but after plating ps4 and going into menu of re you can upload save then download on the ps5 version.If you still have your knife/under 3 hour/under 4 item/under 10k spent load it get those for trophies real fast.Same with Village of Shadows for difficulty trophies.Fortunately you dont have to redo do the mercenaries for all s trophy just beat any mercenary stage with any score and it will pop.Also fortunately you dont have to redo the file troph just start a new game and read the fridge trophy and it should pop.Craft,install mod,and redo 777 with one of your saves before the lass boss.So really all you have to do than is another 2 hour playthrough for outhouse trophy/story trophies/random trophies (Distant kill,push enemy,burn enemy,etc.)

Anyone wanna share play and help me with mercenaries I have tried many guides but just can’t get it. It’s the last thing I need.

Cannot finish the last 2 stages of mercs!! Been over a week and just last weekend sunk over 20 hours into it. Cant do them, can anyone share play and help?

It’s a shame the plat is burried behind this trophy. It’s always tough to have one trophy stuck behind a slog all by itself bc it feels like so much work for one little thing. They should have either had more mercs trophies to keep players engaged, or just not made mercs required, like in the RE3 remake where it didnt require MP.
BodyChipper says
A helpful tip for PS5 players, turn adaptive triggers off in the options, and you’ll fire so much faster if using the pistol/magnum combo in the 2nd map versions. Other players have mentioned this in other forums. I got village 2 the first try after turning this off and was struggling beforehand.

I need someone to do me The S Rank Challenge, I couldn’t do it for The village 2, The Castle 2, The Factory 2 and The Mad Village 2. is so hard with a pistol. I couldn’t reach S rank in any of them.
Anyone can help me with that trophy??
I play with PS5, and I can open a share play.
Please add me if you can help me, my PSN: ZzSult

Did anyone help with this in the end? Hoping someone can help me

anyone else having issue’s with the “universe’s best dad” trophy? got the in-game pop-up telling me I completed it. I did get the “world’s best dad” trophy, yet the last one did not pop up. tried replaying the final boss on the shadows difficulty as well as reinstalling, nothing really helped so far.
PhantomFear94 says
I had an issue with the ‘all 11 recipes’ achievement not unlocking in a similar manner, when I did the challenge the achievement didn’t unlock, so I don’t think its limited to one achievement or trophy in particular. After re-loading my save and repeating the action it worked the 3rd time, so I’d recommend you keep trying.
Sergio says
Like a few others, If anyone could please share playing I need these S ranks and I’m struggling. MrMetMrZep2087
Rudie95 says
For the Sturm fight on Village of Shadows difficulty, if you use a flashbang grenade on him he’ll get confused and randomly walk off in a direction, exposing his back for your STAKE Magnum to wreck him easier 🙂
Mat says
Damn, I must say, these S ranks of Mercenaries is killing me, especially Castle 2. I just got SS now but been struggling for close to a week! But yeah, the most frustrating and time consuming thing is restarting each time to get Masumune.
Best load out for the 2 stages is Masumune, Blade Master and then whatever speed upgrades you can get.
On to Factory 2 now…just two more S ranks till plat!
Mat says
Aaaaaaand it’s done. Got SSS rank first go at Mad Village 2, got Masamune and Blade Master and just absolutely obliterated everything in my path. Tough but pretty fun experience overall, great plat! Proud of this one.

Hey, is it possible to reset the challenges? I got Plat on PS4 and switched to PS5. Unfortunately I have to redo all the runs because I have no save for each run… the problem is the knife only run… i already did the challenge and now i can’t check during the run if i accidentally hit an Enemy with a Gun except the knife. Is there a way zu check it otherwise? kind regards
Vince says
I’ve followed the steps for the S.T.A.K.E Magnum, however the trick to keep your upgrade money isn’t working for me. Maybe they patched it to require a game completion now after it’s upgraded so still workable, just a bit more hassle.
Scott B says
Heisenberg boss fight on Village of Shadows difficulty. I must have tried 30-40 times already. I’m aiming for weak spots, using rockets to push him back as much as possible. What else can I do? Is there any way to actually dodge his attacks? Even when I stop shooting I don’t seem to move fast enough. And blocking doesn’t seem to do shit. Maybe I’m at the wrong angle or something, is there a trick to blocking him?
Fahad says
I’ve read all the files two times, I also can see that I have 47 files in the menu, checked also the names of the files with the guide and I have them all!
but the challenge is locked at 46/47 and the trophy still not unlocking. Any solution?
PowerPyx says
Sounds very bugged. If you have a save before picking up the last file for the first time, try reloading that and pick it up again.
If that doesn’t work I’d delete all save games (back them up beforehand), reinstall the game, and grab all collectibles again from scratch. Luckily, the game isn’t that long on easy difficulty if you already know where to go. Make sure to delete all save games though (including profile save because that keeps record of the bugged challenge).
Fahad says
I got it normally on my 4th walkthough. When I read a file I already read before twice! there was a bug for sure but hopefully it got registed this time.

Thank’s for the guide PowerPyx, what i did for the doll collector and art collector trophies is once i had enough for one of the trophies upload my save into online storage then view all the concept art then retrieve my save data from save data management and got the other trophy
Tom Parker says
Hey PowerPyx, thanks for all the awesome trophy guides.
There’s just one thing you left out that I think would help a lot of people. If you sign up for Resident Evil Portal your game data gets sent to the website so that you can track most collectibles. This isn’t only true of Resident Evil 8 but also most Resident Evil titles. The reason this is good to know is so that players that want to do a blind playthrough first can track which collectibles they missed for example you can track the Goats of Warding you have left by area.
Daniel says
Can I go for collectables while I’m on knife only? I ask because I have to shoot the goats and windows

If after finishing the stage 2 (speedrun) you still don’t have the required lei for the S.T.A.K.E, you can do the following:
1. Dont start a NG and just Reload the last auto save (just before Last boss fight).
2. Go back to where is duke.
3. Make a manual save (Optional).
4. Sell everything you have to duke (Weapons, ammo, treasures, ingredients, EVERYTHING)
5. Hopefully you got now 2.1 m lei.
6. Buy and fully upgrade the S.T.A.K.E.
7. Without savinf, Exit to main menu and go to extra content shop and get the inf ammo stake.
8. Reload auto save again, or manual save on step 3.
9. Buy inf ammo stake from duke.
10. Beat final boss and make a new save
11. Use this save dor your Village off shadows run.
Padi303 says
Does the DLC affect the mercenaries trophies in anyway or are you still locked to Ethan for the S-Ranks? Would be way easier with any of the other characters
Kongmysen says
Thanks for the great guide.
I never got to play this until now, but I’m glad I finally gave it a shot.
I nearly missed the Speedrun though. Knife only, no healing, no buying etc went well, but I was in much more of a hurry than expected. You said it was “very forgiving”, but when I realized how much time I had spent after getting to the red chimney house for a key, I started sprinting, skipping enemies and treasure etc.
Won in 2:58. I didn’t know I was playing a Speedrun. Just though I had to hurry a bit. So damn stresfull stabbing that leg with Chris when the time was nearly out ????
