Dancing on a Minefield is a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Dancing on a Minefield Gig (Side Quest).
Area: Badlands
Quest Giver: Dakota Smith
Requirement: Street Cred Level 1
Reward: €$2320 + 565 XP + 1270 Street Cred
Mission Info: Gig Type: Special Delivery
Objective: Retrieve the abandoned car from the minefield and deliver it to Dakota
Location: Nearest road off Interstate 9
Details: The Badlands are peppered with disarmed minefields from 2071. Though, after several folk were “dislegged” by those “disarmed” mines, most decided to steer clear of these areas. That is, except the smuggling types. A number of their routes run through those fields.
Risky, yes, but brilliant all the same. Why would anyone guard the border when the mines practically do your job for you?
But listen up: a smuggler and his rig got stranded out in the middle of one of those minefields. Maybe his tank went dry, maybe he had a heart attack, or maybe he set out on some vision quest – who knows, doesn’t matter. What’s important is I don’t know the routes these fellas run and now they’re getting dropped in my lap.
Get me his stranded vehicle. I know some nomads who’d pay handsomely for that GPS data.
Objectives:
- Approach the vehicle
- Examine the body (optional)
- Deliver the vehicle to the garage
- Park in the garage
- Exit the vehicle
Starting Location: Dancing on a Minefield
Gig: Dancing on a Minefield starts in the Eastern Badlands.
Approach the vehicle
Head to the question mark where the quest is located on the map above. Once you get there you will get a call from Dakota. Answer the call and she will tell you she wants you to get her the car in the minefield. Be careful as the area is surrounded by flying drones and mines on the ground.
Examine the body (Optional)
Laying next to the vehicle you need to get in is a body on the floor:
Simply walk up and use your left trigger to examine the body before getting in the car. Once you do so Johnny will appear and give more insight into the mission.
Deliver the vehicle to the garage
Once inside the vehicle you will be tasked with driving it to the waypoint provided. Follow the waypoint but try to avoid mines so you don’t blow up the vehicle and fail the mission.
Park in the garage
Once at the garage you will need to pull the vehicle physically into the garage door they open for you.
Exit the vehicle
Once inside the garage you will be prompted to get out of the vehicle. Once you get out Dakota will call. Answer the phone to complete the gig.

In my game when I deliver the car and exit it, no call from Dakota and no next objective, I have tried using previous saves and nothing works, the only thing I havent yet tried is to not do the optional part of the quest, so now I’ll try that if not I guess I have l to wait for an Update of the game.
Also anyone having this issue?
I was there several times when the gig didnt play, and after avout 5 hours of playing and going there again and again it finally started, but the car isnt there and i cant examine the body 🙂
I found the car in the minefield but the quest never triggered. I took the car and drove it somewhere. Now when I go to the gig the car isn’t there and Dakota isn’t calling. Maybe if I somehow find the car (left somewhere in the desert). This will probably be my last trophy to get.
