Starting Location: Ghost Town
Go to the Afterlife
Head to the club and find Rogue.
Talk to Rogue
She agrees to help you find Anders Hellman, but Rogue’s a Fixer not a charity. You’ll have to come up with the Eddies first.
Collect 15,000 €$
If you don’t already have 15,000 €$, you will have to scrape together the cash and come back. Complete some of the other main plotlines, Gigs, or NCPD Scanner Events until you’re flush with Eddies. While doing such events, loot the enemies and sell their belongings at Drop Points.
Return to Rogue with 15,000 €$
Once you have the money, pay up and Rogue is more than happy to tell you what she knows.
Talk to Rogue
Looks like Hellman is jumping ship, going to work for Arasaka’s competition, Kang Tao. He’s going to be on an AV headed out of Night City, and you’ll have to down it in the Badlands to question him before its too late. She puts you in touch with some local talent, named Panam Palmer. Panam is a Nomad and knows the area well, plus she is uniquely in a position to not be able to turn you down. Help her with her problem and she’ll help you. Two birds, one stone.
Call Panam
Rogue sends you Panam’s details. Call her and you’ll set up a meeting.
Meet with Panam
Head to the meet in Rancho Coronado.
Talk to Panam
Discuss the situation with Panam, and come to an arrangement to help her get her cargo and her ride back.
Take the Passenger seat
You and Panam will head to the Aldecaldo camp to pick up some help and supplies.
Leave the car
Maybe Mitch and Scorpion will help?
Talk to Mitch and Scorpion
Loaning gear technically counts as helping, I suppose.
Follow Panam
Panam will lead you to her tent where she has a truly massive anti-materiel sniper rifle and a box of party favors.
Take Box
Carry the box for the lady.
Follow Panam
Head back to the car, and wait for Panam to open the hatch.
Place the box in the trunk
The Colby C210 camper has more than enough cargo space for a family of four, or two heavily armed Edgerunners.
Go back to the car
Hop in, and make small talk with Panam, or skip the ride entirely.
Leave the car
Once at Rocky Ridge, you and Panam will have to prepare an ambush for the Raffen Shiv.
Discuss the plan with Panam
Panam suggests that you search the area for anything that might be useful.
Scan the devices in the area
Using your optical implants, scan the area for devices in the town. Very quickly you discover that nothing has power. Head to the nearby substation to see if you can get the lights back on.
Scan the transformer
Scan the power source
After scanning the transformer, head up to the roof of the substation to scan the power source, a fusebox at the edge of the roof.
Discuss the plan with Panam
Looks like you’ve got everything you need to provide a diversion. Panam can get the control terminal inside the substation back on line with a jump from her car battery.
Wait for Panam by the power substation
Head to the other side of the substation, and Panam will pull the car around.
Discuss the plan with Panam
Confirming that the panel is in good shape, she can rig up a bypass circuit to the power supply.
Take the jumper cables
Again with the scut work.
Connect the cables to the battery
“Always be positive!”
Discuss the plan with Panam
Circuit is charged, head inside the substation and start the terminal.
Restore power in the switchgear
If you don’t have a Body of 8+, you can’t force the door open. In which case see the objective below.
Break the window and enter (Optional)
You can simply destroy the window (e.g. using melee) and climb through. If it doesn’t let you climb in, make sure the glass is completely smashed on the sides of the window frame. Once inside, activate the switchgear using the terminal.
Go to the roof
Head back outside, and onto the roof.
Get into position
Follow the waypoint, to be prompted to hide.
Talk to Panam
The plan seems simple. What could possibly go wrong?
Wait for the Raffen Shiv
You will automatically skip time to the evening where the Raffen Shiv are rolling into town, big as life.
Turn on the lights at the intersection
When Panam gives the word, flip the switch to turn on the power. That should get their attention.
Take Panam’s car
Now all you have to do is grab Panam’s car and run while they’re distracted.
Get the key to Panam’s car
Of course you’ll need the shard to start it. Nothing is ever easy. There are about seven of them, all heavily armed and Panam’s ride is parked next to some extremely flammable gas pumps. Stealth is the name of the game here. A couple of goons will be out front of the gas station, with you on the roof. You’ll want to sneak around to the back of the BD Shack building.
You’ll be looking for a gangoon with a mohawk, who will be inside the building. If you can use the nearby video games as a distraction, you can lure them over near the back door where you can ambush and drag them out the back door where it’s dark and a body can be concealed. Once you have the shard, Panam will call you to ask “what now?”, pointedly observing that there are still a few Shiv left alive (Unless you’ve been an overachiever and already eliminated everyone). You can sneak back to the truck and make your getaway if you feel like playing it safe.
Defeat the Raffen Shiv (Optional)
If you prefer, just go in guns-blazing and kill every last one of them.
Get in the car
If you’ve already eliminated all the Shivs, Panam will meet you at her car (which is clearly a truck), otherwise you’ll have to meet her just north of town.
Wait for Panam in the car
Wow, this is actually a really nice “car”. I wonder if she’ll let us drive…
Switch seats with Panam
Dammit.
Go to the Raffen Shiv hideout (Optional)
As you drive away, Panam will try to convince you that you have to take out Nash as well, to get payback for the double dealing. If you’d rather not take the risk, you can skip ahead to the deal at the Sunset Motel. But it’s suggested that you indulge Panam in her rampage, because the detour is more than worth it.
- “Nash hunt wasn’t part of the deal”
- “Let’s do the 6th Street Deal first”
- “You wanna raid the Raffen base? Are you outta your mind?”
- “OK. So where’s the hideout?” –> recommended
Helping Panam will impress her, which can be a good first step to pursue the Panam Romance – but she can only be romanced as a Male Character. If you’re Female you don’t have a chance with her anyway. Select the 4th dialogue option “OK. So where’s this hideout?” for the best outcome.
Defeat Nash and his people (Optional)
If you decide to help her, you’ll be able to get a truly excellent Iconic Tech Rifle and a whole inventory’s worth of guns to sell/disassemble, by virtue of the sheer number of guards Nash has hanging around. Take cover and proceed slowly. There will be snipers on both the left and right firing from walkways, plus a fair amount of suppressing fire.
Once you defeat Nash, be sure to loot his body for the Widow Maker Tech Rifle (Iconic). Charge that bad boy up and its like a sniper shotgun. Preem. After you’ve gone through all the Raffen Shivs’ pockets for loose change, head back to Panam.
Wait for Panam to finish her conversation
Just talk to Panam, the safest option to not start any drama is to choose “Let’s Go”.
Talk to Panam
Talk to her when she hangs up, and she’ll head back to her “car”.
Take the passenger seat
Hop in for the next leg of your journey.
Go to the Sunset Motel with Panam
Panam sets up the drop, leaving you with more sightseeing time during the drive.
Wait for Panam to strike a deal
Pulling up Panam says she’ll do the talking, and though she’s not anticipating trouble, it’s better to be prepared.
Leave the car
Watching with your weapon ready, Panam closes the deal and gets paid.
Nothing to worry about. Deal done, Panam suggests you get a drink.
Follow Panam
If you haven’t done so already, now might be a good time to consult the Panam Romance Guide. You know, just in case.
Sit at the bar
Have a drink with Panam, and learn more about her. After your second beer she suggests that you get a room at the motel and stay the night. If you say that you’ll just meet later, Panam will head to her room alone and the mission will end. Otherwise you can get a room, or suggest that you share a room. You know, in the interest of saving money.
Picking the flirty option is best if you’re looking to build a relationship with her: “[Drink] To your ride” > “Maybe we get just one room?”. > “Not exactly what I meant”
Follow Panam
Go to your shared room, but don’t get your hopes up.
Lie down
You won’t find any romance there that night, no matter what choices you made so far. Panam is tired and goes to sleep. If you’re interested in pursuing Panam’s Romance further, which is done through her Side Quests later, check out the Panam Romance Guide.
This finishes Ghost Town main quest in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). Now the next quest Lightning Breaks becomes available.
