Introduction
Welcome to the Vane Trophy Guide! Vane is an indie adventure game where you play as a kid that can turn into a crow. In Vane you need to use your platforming skills in both kid and crow form to reshape the world and enter a tower. The game is not exactly linear and it can be hard to navigate at times. A good indication that you’re doing things according to how the game was meant to be played is music in the background. For this reason the descriptions of most trophies also include directions of where to go and a reference image to help you find things more easily. Almost every trophy is missable, so make sure to refer to those as you play.
Step 1: Play the Game and Unlock all Missable Trophies
Since some areas cannot be revisited later in the game unless you start a new playthrough, it is highly advised to unlock all missable trophies during your main and possibly only one run to save on time. Some trophies require you to explore some areas that you would otherwise have no reason to go to. Some instead are on the intended path. Look at the missable trophies in the Overview section and refer to their respective descriptions. If you follow the intended path the game wants you to take, the missable trophies should unlock as follows:
- Max Speedbird
- Ruins of Ambition
- Habitat
- Cave Station
- Transformation
- Summit Fan
- Premeditated Murder
- Vane
- Echoes
- Storm Chaser
- The Tower
- Migration
- Sacrifice
The game has two different endings, so to avoid a new playthrough for the other ending we need to exit the game and reload Chapter 5 as soon as one of the two ending trophies unlocks (Migration and Sacrifice). Refer to the trophy descriptions to find out when and where.
Step 2: Restart Chapter 5 for the Other Ending
For this step replay Chapter 5 from the main menu. Do the opposite of what you did on your first playthrough, so either sacrifice yourself into the gold or fall of the cliff and decide to migrate as a crow.

Ruins of Ambition Ruins of a large tower at the center of the world. |
||
As soon as you’re able to control the crow, start flying straight ahead until you come across with a pool of water with one of the windsocks. North-east of the first pool of water, you’ll see a massive rock almost scraping the sky. On top of it is a structure you can perch on. Perch on it and hit , thereby unlocking the trophy.
Cave Station Remnants of machinery in the dark |
||
West of the first pool you’ll see what it looks to be the entrance to a cave. Fly to the end of it until you see some man-made stairs. One of these is a perch for you to fly onto. Perch on it and hit , thereby unlocking the trophy. Below you can find also the entrance to this area.
Habitat Traces of a civilization beneath the crust. |
||
To the farthest right of the first pool, way after the big rock you went to for Ruins of Ambition, you’ll come across a smaller canyon. Coming from the above-mentioned area, you’ll find a structure you can perch on near the beginning of the canyon. You can also unlock this trophy if you fly north from where you were for Ruins of Ambition. Just keep flying until you see a massive man-made crack in the canyon. At the beginning of it you’ll see a perch for you to land on.
Max Speedbird Starting at the far shallow end, fly through the desert canyon near the storm in record speed! |
||
After the initial storm sequence, you get to control the crow in a large desert area and you will spawn on a branch. Immediately turn around and fly towards the storm, then veer left and swoop down to the beginning of the canyon (pointed by an arrow in the image below). Once you reach the beginning of the canyon start flying as fast as you can by repeatedly pressing or until you reach the end of it. Once you’ve reached its end, the trophy will unlock.
Premeditated Murder Accumulate a legendary flock of crows by the vane tower |
||
In order to accumulate a legendary flock of crows you need to visit and perch on all 5 windsocks spread around the area. Once you reach a windsock perch on top of it and hit to summon the crows and have them fly to the vane in the middle of the area. Windsocks are indicated by white glints that you can easily spot from afar.
Refer to the images below for the locations of all windsocks. The first one is in a pool shortly after the beginning of the stage. Just fly north to find the pool and the structure. The second one is in a lake south of the vane. The third one is north-west of the collapsing vane on top of a massive rock. The fourth one is in a lake north-east of the vane. The fifth and final one is inside the small canyon that is way beyond the big and tall rock you went to to unlock Ruins of Ambition and near the location for Habitat. I personally unlocked this trophy without liberating the crows as described in Acceleration but it may be a good idea to do that first. After gathering the fifth flock of crows, head to the vane and fly around it to unlock the trophy. You may also have to caw a few times by pressing to unlock it. |
||
Awakening The machinery of the world rumbles back to life |
||
After gathering all 5 flocks of crows around the vane perch on one of the wings and hit to cause it to tumble. After the vane has tumbled over, the trophy will unlock.
Ascension Don the mask. Ascend the Tower. |
||
After donning the mask, you’ll need to platform a really long way to the summit of the tower. Use your newly acquired power to build your way to the top. This time the game is a little bit more consistently linear, so it should not prove too hard to get to the top. Once you get to the top and white light shines upon you the trophy will pop.
Storm Chaser Explore the depths of the storm circling the world |
||
In the stormy area after you have freed your friends, you need to look for a glowing ball that you need to roll together with your friends. For this trophy to unlock you need to push the ball into the void. You can also unlock this trophy by swooping down into the storm with the crow.
Summit Fan As a child, get to the top of the highest hill in the desert. |
||
After getting to the shutter and pushing the beam and letting the crows fly out of the cave, retrace your steps and climb down the tower. Make your way to the steel block you previously ignored and push it to the opposite side you’ve just come from. Climb on top of it and make your way to the end of this section. You’ll find another shutter with a beam for you to push. Push it and drop down to the ground. Now you’ll be able to control the child in the desert. Head left and keep walking until you see a tree. To the left of the tree is a set of stairs. Climb the stairs and continue on. The path is fortunately pretty linear here, so just keep going straight ahead. If you keep left you will soon find yourself at the feet of a desert hill. Continue keeping your left until you see a peak on your left. To unlock this trophy you need to keep walking until you reach the top of this mountain. Once you reach the top you’ll see a tree-looking structure. Go past it and stop right at the tip of the cliff. You’ll unlock the trophy here. Refer to the pictures below for some reference points.
Professional Block Be the first to leave the base of the Tower |
||
Shortly after Convoy, you’ll find yourself on top of the base of the tower. On here you have to collect and don the mask that you will need to ascend the tower. Right in front of you, you should see a doorway. To make it to the doorway first make sure you walk towards the edge of the column while you’re shouting into the mask. This will get you a head start and make this trophy relatively easier than it sounds. Once you reach the doorway first the trophy will unlock.
Migration Take a leap of faith towards a new beginning |
||
When you control the cloaked figure and are surrounded by other cloaked figures, do NOT walk to the center of the room. Instead, head left to the cliff. Fall off the cliff to unlock this trophy. The trophy will unlock during a brief cinematic after which the game will end. As soon as Migration unlocks, hit Options, exit the game and replay the chapter to get the other trophy, Sacrifice.
Sacrifice Give yourself to the Gold |
||
When you control the cloaked figure and are surrounded by other cloaked figures, walk to the center of the room and sacrifice yourself by stepping into the gold. The trophy will unlock during a brief cinematic after which the game will end. If you haven’t unlocked Migration first, as soon as Sacrifice unlocks, hit Options, exit the game and replay the chapter to get the other trophy, Migration.
Convoy Open the way for your friends. |
||
After pushing the ball down the hill you need to use the power of the ball and your friends to make a bridge out of the stumps you see one next to the other. To do so you have to find two other groups of kids in the area. The first group of kids is in a pool of water, the second one is on top of a platform south-east of the area with the stumps. For the first group, turn over and veer off to the left until you see some stairs for you to climb on. Keep following the linear path until you reach the kids in the pool of water. Approach them and use next to the rocky ball. The kids will react to it and independently walk to the stump area where the “original” kids are. As for the second group of kids use the ball to build the stairs and a bridge to the right of the stumps. The power of the kids’ scream will create platforms for you to walk on. You’ll access a new area with some pretty straightforward platforming. Keep going the linear path until you see another group of kids waiting for you. Do the same as before and the kids will independently walk to the glowing ball. Once you have both groups of kids with you, push the ball halfway through the stumps and hit to have all of them perform a huge scream at the ball. This will create a very long bridge that you can walk on to access the new area. As you pass the electrified vane you’ll unlock the trophy.
Acceleration Time lurches forward and the world begins to change… |
||
When you first control the crow, go to the area where you unlocked Cave Station. After the area with the man-made stairs continue on and you’ll see a glowing pool of gold you can use to transform yourself into the kid. This may or may not be the first time you transform into the kid. If so, you’ll also unlock Transformation. Once you’ve turned into the kid use the stairs and tip the iron structures to make it on top of a stone tower. Continue on, climbing the tower, being extra careful that you don’t fall. If you do, turn back into the kid. As you climb higher and higher, you’ll reach a shutter with a beam you can push and go through. Some crows will be released. Now jump into the water and start summoning all the flocks of crows as mentioned in Premeditated Murder. Gather them all onto the vane and hit to tumble it over. Once it tumbled, swoop down where the glowing ball exploded and transform into the kid. Turn 360° and go climb the stairs the world is creating as you walk towards them. You’ll notice that the area is expanding with what looks like a gate you can push open. Open the gate and keep going until you’ll end up in a cage. The cage will carry you automatically to the next area. In this area you need to liberate three white crows and push some glowing balls into the void in order to continue. Fortunately, the path here is pretty linear. The first two white crows have to be freed by the kid, the third one by the cawing of the crow when it perches on top of the cage. Once you have freed all three white crows keep moving until you reach the next area where you have to disengage some wires from the dome structure on top of the building in the middle of the new area. Once you have unattached all wires, the trophy will pop.
Transformation The gold does more than glimmer in the desert… |
||
Right after the steel structure collapses, a golden-looking hole opens up in the ground. Fly into it and you’ll transform into the child, thereby unlocking this trophy. You can also unlock this trophy shortly after Cave Station if you keep flying north. You’ll end up in an area with lots of stairs with a pool of gold for you to jump into and turn into the kid. This is the area that you’re supposed to go to continue on with the game.
The Tower The Tower stands tall and massive against the Storm |
||
While you move the ball you’ll come to a point where the game wants you to use in order to shout and create a bridge for you to continue on. After you’ve crossed the created bridge, you’ll reach an area where you can either go left or right. For this trophy go right. Keep heading right until you see some stairs on your right. Stop the ball near the railing that you’ll see forming a little further ahead. Once you’ve stopped the ball use to have you and the other kids start shouting. This will create a new path on your right, therefore retrace your steps and climb the aforementioned stairs. Keep walking on the linear path until you come by a structure similar to those the crow perches on. Follow the path to the very end until the camera pans over the tower. During the short cinematic the trophy will unlock.
Echoes Echoes of a familiar place |
||
After going down the hill with the glowing ball, come back up and jump down a cliff to transform back into the crow. Then fly back to the area where the ball has landed and fly past the gate to your right. Keep flying around this area while veering off to the right and you’ll see a shimmering light indicating a perch for you to fly to. Perch here and you’ll unlock this trophy.

where is ace combat 7 trophy guide?
Erwin de Jong says
There is an issue with the habitat trophy. I am standing at the exact spot where I should perch, according to the screenshot, but the small structure to perch on is not there.

That happened to me too 🙁
