In the small camp called Keener’s Rock, Aloy can speak to the Chieftain to start a new side quest. He will briefly explain what the White Teeth’s values are like and that currently, two recruits are still missing from their trial to join the Werak. Aloy is displeased that this particular tribe doesn’t help their members who are in danger and takes matters into her own hands.
Grab your mount and head east. You will see one of the hunters fight off a lot of machines. Time to jump on the zipline and join the fun.
After the first wave of enemies, a short cutscene will play in which Aloy and the huntress Ikrie introduce each other. The break will only be short – the next wave of machines is already incoming, this time with some bigger ones than before, including a Scorcher. Once they’ve been dealt with, we have a bit more time to get to know each other and Ikrie will explain how this trial works.
She is worried about her friend Mailen, who is the second missing huntress. She is wounded but doesn’t want to be helped because the trials rules don’t allow any help from others and Mailen is very serious about it. Aloy talks Ikrie into helping Mailen anyhow because life is more important than tribes and their rules. Who knows this better than Aloy, right?
The two now join forces and make their way over to the wounded Mailen, who isn’t located too far away. As expected, she is not completely alone and in order to approach her, we need to get rid of a few more machines. Killing the machines enables us to tend to the wounded Mailen.
Mailen isn’t too happy about the help and fears that she won’t be accepted by the Werak for breaking the rules of the trial. She will walk away on her own eventually to get back to the Werak. Ikrie, however, tells Aloy her decision that she doesn’t want to be part of the White Teeth Tribe and asks her to report her death to the chieftain in order to continue a new life.
Once we have fast-travelled back to Keener’s Rock, Aloy has three different options to tell the chieftain about Mailens’ performance in her trial. She will automatically lie about Ikries’ fate, though, ending this quest.
