To progress in this mission you have to clear out the Bandit Camp as well as to repair and climb the Tallneck. Refer to the map below for their locations (the two lower circles).
In the previous quests final conversation, Ourea mentioned that you will have to become the settlements Chieftain in order to gain access to the Mountain Pass. And before we can challenge the current leader Aratak, we have to prove ourselves to the Warak by completing a few challenges.
Repairing and climbing the Tallneck will give you 7.500 XP on its own, while the Bandit Camp even nets you another 15.000 XP. They are also required for a trophy on its own, so we can work on a few things at the same time here.
To start the challenge we must speak to Aratak, who is enraged that someone challenges him. But because Ourea backs your claim, he has to accept it and takes off to the Frostfigures, where the actual challenge is going to be held. Of course, we will travel there right away to start the contest.
After a small cutscene, the challenge will start. You have to complete three tiers of three tasks under time-pressure.
The first objective is to reach a certain point within the area – you’ll have to sprint and climb there.
When you reach the destination, you’ll have to defeat machines.
Lastly, you need to lift a balloon into the air to show that you have completed the area.
For the first of these three “triathlons”, you will have 7 minutes, for the second one 9:30 minutes. Reaching the final tier of this challenge has a time limit of 5 minutes – but the fight itself does not count towards the total time. You and Aratak will reach the site simultaneously and have to defeat three large Frostclaw machines.
After doing so, Ourea wants to void the challenge, but Aratak admits that only Aloy defeated the machines and steps down from his position as Chieftain and passes it on to Aloy. This will end the quest and give us the Won the Werak Challenge-trophy. Ourea will also tell us, where we will have to meet for the next mission.
