Introduction
Welcome to the Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Trophy Guide! This is a very easy and short platinum that can be obtained on the lowest difficulty. By default the game uses an “automatic” difficulty mode, which scales to your performance. In the game options you can change it to easy at any time.
All trophies – except 1 for collectibles – are automatic story unlocks and cannot be missed. Everything is possible in one playthrough. The collectible trophy is missable, however! So pay close attention that you activate all lorestones on the first attempt. There is no free roam after the game and no chapter select.
Furthermore, the game has different trophy lists for the EU & North American versions, which means you can earn a very easy double platinum if you buy both versions!
Step 1: Beat the Story & Collect All Lorestones
There is only one step to this roadmap. Play through the story and find all 44 Lorestone Collectibles. That’s it, platinum unlocked. Even the 4 silver trophies for “challenges” are automatic story unlocks and all you really do in them is to walk around for a few minutes. The game requires no skill whatsoever.
The trophy “Stories From the North” for finding all lorestones is missable! It’s also the only one that does not unlock automatically from the story. Pay attention that you collect everything at the first opportunity. You may also want to make backups of your save game from time to time (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management). In case you do miss something you can copy back the save and don’t have to replay everything.
If you get stuck the Puzzles Guide has you covered.
Earning Double Platinum
Did you know you can earn two platinums from this game? This is possible because it has a separate trophy set for the EU & USA versions. The trophies are the exact same but you can play the other version to earn the trophies again. All you need to do is create a PSN account for the region you are missing (if it asks for an address just go to google maps and double-click anywhere). The easiest way to buy digital games from other regions is with PSN cards. See where to buy EU PSN Cards & USA PSN Cards (affiliate links). Two very easy and quick platinums to add to your trophy collection!

Extinguished Defeat Surtr |
||
Automatic story unlock, cannot be missed.
At the start of the game take the right path to fight this boss (if you go left you’ll encounter Valravn God of Illusion, but you’ll have to fight both of them anyway). Surtr is the easiest boss in the game. He is very slow and doesn’t spawn any minions. Dodge sideways and he will almost always miss you. Then do one or two heavy attacks and repeat. Over the course of the fight Surtr will kneel down and be surrounded by fire. The fire doesn’t hurt you, so rush towards him and land some with heavy attacks from behind while he kneels. This will deplete his health very quickly. If he knocks you on the ground press X quickly to get back up. |

Master of Illusion Defeat Valravn |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.
At the start of the game take the left path to fight this boss (if you go right you’ll encounter Surtr God of Fire, but you’ll have to fight both of them anyway). This boss isn’t too difficult. Some attacks can be parried with a well timed block (press R2). The boss likes to throw projectiles at you from a distance. A quick way to close the gap is to press X, which makes you dodge forward. You can also dodge sideways to counter Valravn’s jump attacks and then attack with a few heavy attacks from behind. During the fight some smaller enemies will spawn. As soon as the spawn use the X – Square – Square – Triangle – Triangle to kill them instantly (if performed correctly, Senua dashes forward and performs a quick stab combo). Remember you can change the difficulty in game options at any time. If you get knocked on the ground press X very quickly to get back up. During the last phase you must press R2 to use your vision and make the boss vulnerable. If you don’t do it the boss will appear as a shadow shape and won’t take damage from your attacks. |

Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.
There are 4 silver “challenge” trophies but you must complete them as part of the story (about halfway through the game). They aren’t really “challenges”. Rather, they have you walk through some dark places, labyrinths and swamps. They require no skill whatsoever and you don’t even have to engage in combat to complete them. Just play through the story and you’ll unlock this. |

Tamed the Beast Defeat Fenrir |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.
This battle takes place in a dark cave. You will have to use your focus a lot (press R2). This makes the boss vulnerable. Without your focus active you won’t deal him damage. The focus also slows down time which makes it easier to dodge attacks and land more combos. Fenrir is a big wolf enemy and only uses close range attacks. He is big and slow, but powerful. Dodge all his attacks, blocking usually gets you knocked to the ground. For his AOE jump attacks dodge away, for his other attacks dodge sideways. It’s best if you stick to heavy attacks. Land 1-2 hits, dodge, repeat. When the screen goes dark you need to activate your focus. When you have to search fenrir (he hides in the dark multiple times throughout the fight), you should get ready to dodge. He always does a charge or jump attack when he comes out of the dark. |
||
The Final Battle Confront Hela |
||
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed.
It’s rewarded for beating the endboss, which is an easy fight. You will have an overpowered sword that kills most enemies in one hit. Activate your focus ability (press R2 during combat when it’s powered up) and then do L1+Square combos. This is a running sword stab. Senua will jump a few meters to the enemies. The weak ones die in just one hit. You can chain together really long combos with this and kill one enemy after the other. You don’t actually have to fight the boss himself, only his mobs. In the last phase when the boss is sitting in the middle of the arena you must let the enemies kill you. Otherwise they just keep spawning infinitely. When they kill you the final ending cutscenes starts. There are 3 phases: Phase 1: Fight the mobs until they are all dead. Phase 2: Fight the shadow bosses until they are all dead. Remember to use R2 to trigger the focus ability. Phase 3: Let the enemies kill you. |

Stories From the North Collect all of the Lorestones |
||
*MISSABLE TROPHY*
Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice contains 44 collectable Lorestones. They are exactly what they sound like – big stones that provide additional lore (story info). They have a glowing glyph on them and are relatively easy to spot. Most of them are in plain sight. Use your focus (press R2) to activate them. You do not have to listen to the lore. After activating the stone you can walk away. There is a collectible tracker on the Lorestones themselves. You will notice different looking glyphs and a few dots between them. Red glyphs are what you’re missing and white means you have found them. The dots stand for the different chapters / areas. Each unique area or story part is divided by a dot. Meaning if there are 6 glyphs between two dots then the chapter has 6 lorestones in it. I’m using the word “chapter” vaguely here because there isn’t an official chapter select. The areas are just uniquely distinct. You need to be careful because the lorestones can be missed! If you progress too far you can’t go back to some places. For this reason it his highly recommended that you make a manual save game backup from time to time (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management). Furthermore, if you die or exit to the main menu you need to activate the lorestones again. You must reach the next checkpoint alive to save the progress. The amount of lorestones collected does carry over to the second playthrough but the runes on the lorestones will change. To avoid any tracking issues it is highly recommended you collect them all again. If you go for just the missing stone there have been reports of it not counting (because it shows a different rune than it did on first playthrough). They are all on your path anyway, so play it safe and get them all again, otherwise you could miss the trophy. For a full text guide refer to Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice All Lorestone Locations |

Thanks for the guide! I am curious how you rated this a 1/10 though and mentioned easy takes no skill… As I am playing it, being a platinum hunter, this is certainly challenging enough to be more than a 1/10.
Nick says
Probably a 4/10 for me but thank you again for your awesome guides! I appreciate them!
PowerPyx says
All of the trophies unlock automatically from the story, except for the easy to find collectibles (for which you can use my guide).
Doesn’t get any easier than automatic story trophies ;)
Demetrius says
Awesome guide!! I would give it a 2/10 for difficulty but neither the less, its an auto platinum
diogoz says
thx powerpyx you are the best!
Ross says
I’m surprised Hellblade has two different trophy lists for the NA and EU versions. I thought it would have a third trophy list from one of the Asian regions or something. Thanks again for posting the trophy guide. Keep up the good work.
Pedro says
I would give it a 2/10: Story + Missable collectibles.
1/10 is for Telltale Games: Only Story trophies, no collectibles, no missables, no required guide, no skill…
Ross says
I think few of Telltale game’s titles have 1 out of 10 games like Back from the Future and The Wolf among Us. I’d give those games a 2 out of 10 because of the collectibles and the other miscellaneous actions you have to do before you can get the platinum trophies. -_-
Pedro says
I agree.
pissed hellblade player says
Plase help with Warrior trophy!!! WTF? I can’t escape and the respawning without end!
PowerPyx says
It unlocks automatically in the story. After pulling the sword out of the tree you go through a “hell” level with many enemies. Kill them all (they do not spawn infinitely but there are quite many of them). Then a path leads up the hill. Shortly after going uphill the level ends and you return to the beach, at which point the trophy should unlock.
Greg says
When you say the runes relocate do they at least relocate in the same level? I screwed the pooch right before fenrir and now I’m stuck with another replay. Can I at least skip the runes for every level except the one I screwed up on?
PowerPyx says
From what I have gathered, yes they only relocate within their given level.
So finding all lorestones within a given level should mark them all as “found”. However, in some levels you cannot backtrack all the way.
There are also multiple reports of the very last lorestone not working correctly. I think the safest way is to delete the save games after first playthrough and just start from scratch, collect them all again in chronological order. Also make a manual backup save on USB / PS+ at the start of every level.
Greg says
After finishing the game I started again and put the difficulty down to easy so I could rush the battles. I replayed back through to chapter 10 and picked up the 2 Lorestones I missed and the trophy popped easy peezy. Still kicking myself I had to spend 4 hours replaying to get to that point because I didn’t catch where you said if you die they don’t count ugh… This would have been much quicker if you could skip cutscenes. Oh well. Fun game I’d give it a 2/10 the combat can get tricky but if you play on easy definitely a 1.
Thanks for the guide Pyx.
Macarena says
Is you play on easy definitely a 2. I’d give it a 1/10 without missable collectibles.
23bixente23 says
IMAO this justifies a 3/10 difficulty rating. Because you may screw everything and have to start again. Collectibles are easy to find…with a guide like yours !! Otherwise, they would be a pain in the ass, as usual…
1/10 –> most Telltales games
2/10 few Telltales with collectibles or missable trophies.
This game is harder, so i’ll rate it 3/10 with your collect. guide, or 4-4,5/10 without guide because some collect. are tricky to find.
Anyway. Thanks for your guide, awesome job, as usual ! Cheers pal !

I messed up the Swamp by activating the rune door first, i want to kill myself right now
Dan says
Deleted the game since the devs don’t know how to make proper trophies. @#&% this game.
