Birthright is a Side Quest in Assassin’s Creed Origins. This walkthrough shows how to complete the quest.
Recommended Level: 9
Region: Lake Mareotis
Requirement: having finished Lady of Slaughter
Reward: 600 XP
Objectives:
- Speak to the embalmer about the corpses
- Travel to Iras’s family farm
- Find Iras at the farm
- Find and get information from the master’s villa
- Find and assassinate Sophronios
To start this quest you have to interact with some corpses which are located in the Yamu temple. Bayek is curious about their condition and wants to ask the embalmer what has happened to them. The man is found working nearby and says that the corpses are one family and the lone survivor, the daughter Iras, has carried them one by one over here.
Bayek is now intrigued and wants to meet the girl and learn about her family’s fate. Ride to her farm, which is located to the north-west of your current location, in a valley surrounded by dunes. You will already see a few soldiers from afar – time to approach the farm carefully and mark all the enemies either with Senu or your bow so that you don’t enter a potential open conflict unprepared. Luckily, they are usually roaming around far away from each other, so picking them off without alerting the others is a good strategy. If you used Senu to mark the enemies, you probably already found Iras’ location – she is hiding in a well in the middle of the estate.
When you got rid of the soldiers, approach her location and a cutscene will play, where she tells us that this farm has been in her family’s possession for many years and recently another farm’s master claims their farm and murdered her family. Our next stop will be the Master’s Villa, which happens to be another outpost. Conveniently there is a mounted bow on the roof which deals enough damage to one-hit-kill all nine enemies in the area.
There will be a letter on a table in the middle of the yard which reveals the man behind the attack on Iras’ family – a man by the name of Sophronios. No question: he has to die. He resides even further up north, just within the walls of Alexandria. He will be guarded by three soldiers, but he can nicely be killed by just jumping down on him from the roofs nearby. Once you have killed him, the quest is over, killing his three guards is purely optional here.
