Starting point of this quest will be an island in the south-western part of the region Thebes. This is the place where the auction of an important relic should be held, but upon arrival, Bayek sees that something went wrong. Fight off the few guards around and investigate the area for clues about what happened and where to travel next.
Bayek concludes that the merchants and the relic were forcefully captured by guards and suspects them being held at the Temple of Hatshepsut on the other side of the sea. In the middle of the complex, there will be another investigation area, where you have to find the correct cell. There will be three roughly in the middle of the structure and another two down a flight of stairs. In the lower cell, Bayek will find Irsu, the man who held the auction and was in possession of the relic.
He is in a pretty bad shape but reveals us that his nephew has the relic now and even tells us about his whereabouts. Very handy for us, so we can make ourselves on the way.
Sutekh is hiding from a few guards who are after him. Either take them out or directly sneak into the cave marked on the map.
Sutekh will run away at first but reaches a dead-end shortly after. Bayek can convince him to hand over the relic quite easily. No force needed this time around.
Sutekh tells us where we can find Nefertiti’s Tomb. Bayek plans to return this artifact to her and hope to lift the curse which haunts Thebes. Make your way over to the Valley of the Kings and enter a mysterious world.
Bayek will reach the region Aaru, one of the Afterlife-areas of the game, where some surreal things happen. Aaru has a beautiful landscape, which crawls with hostile guards and large scorpions and it has some ships sailing through the fields of wheat. Quite a weird combination.
Our objective is to talk to the priests of the temple, which lies in the middle of this separated map. All three priests have a similar answer for us. We are not pure and have to perform certain purification acts in order to enter the temple and deliver the relic back. These three separate main quests can be completed within about ten minutes and are all located on the southern part of Aaru. See the following pictures for an overview on them.
The first out of three sub-quests is to interact with a statue in the south-east corner of Aaru. That’s it. Nothing else to do. Probably the easiest 5.000 XP to be earned in the whole game.
The second sub-quest requires us to burn some impure food, which is located on one of the ships which sails through the fields on the southern part of the map. To make it simple for you, simply fire an ignited arrow or throw a fire-bomb on the ship and you should be fine without even stepping one foot on the ship itself.
In the third and final sub-quest, Bayek has to destroy a bunch of wine-jars in a cellar in the south-west part of Aaru. The only minor threat are about a dozen snakes around. Nothing too bad, kill them with arrows or fire or even in close-combat, however you prefer. When all the small and medium-sized jars are shattered, this task is completed.
Once all the three small sub-quests are completed, Bayek now can place the relic back on Nefertiti’s throne.
This will immediately spawn the long-deceased lady.
The fight against her is very similar to most boss-battles of this game. When she runs towards you, dodge and hit her a few times. Make use of your overpower-attack + once it is fully loaded.
Just like any other fight, remember that once a complete health bar of yours is depleted, it won’t recharge. So rather back off a few times more, to play it safe.
Defeating her concludes this quest. She drops a nice set of swords you might want to check out.
Once she is down and this quest is completed, you can talk to Isidora to continue with The Curse of the Pharaohs-Quest (if you completed The Heretic before).
